Visited the links golf course today and must say it needs work, the greens and bunkers were absolutely awful amd the tee boxes also not great. The practice putting green was an absolute joke not very impressed at all. Apart from that the hotel and surrounding bar areas looked nice
Location ideal, excellent facilities well maintained and everywhere clean and tidy. Chef very helpful with my gluten free requirements, food being nicely cooked and presented.
Dining room staff not always on the ball when it comes to tidying and checking availability of breakfast items.
Location was key as I was visiting family members staying nearby - the North Norfolk coast & Cromer are longstanding family favourites.
As a result, I did not use the available facilities - golf course, bar, breakfast, other food - so have nothing to say on those.
The room was clean, spacious, warm & with a plentiful hot water supply.
Staff friendly & helpful.
Parking plentiful.
One of the overhead lights was very dim (not a major issue but flagged to reception when leaving) & I couldn't get the TV to work in the minute or so I was willing to spend on this (I was only putting it on in the background whilst I got ready to go out - that was not intuitive & no instructions were readily apparent, they may have been there somewhere, so not flagged with reception).
This is actually a review of the customer service. Wanted to join the gym which looked old but on the surface decently maintained. So asked if I could get a free pass to which I was told no. Pay to use it for the day or join for the month and this was from the duty manager who previously said “give it try I use it everyday” implying a pass. That’s not how you get business or do business. I live up the road from the hotel and will be advising everyone coming to Norfolk not to use the hotel and won’t be taking anyone to the restaurant as a result either.
Plenty of parking
Reception staff were unhelpful. The garden room we booked faced a brick wall, so we had to pay extra to move to a garden room. The room was not serviced, the room information pack said this would be done unless we said not to do it, but we were instructed to request a room clean. The room was never cleaned thoroughly. The door was left unlocked. Limited toiletries for two people. WiFi was non existent in the room and most parts of the hotel. The food was boil in the bag and microwaved, the cooking staff did not have head coverings and the service was poor. The food quality was awful. This was supposed to be a four star hotel and prices reflected this, the service and food was one star.
Location
Nothing
Lovely location,
Hotel was clean and comfortable.
Staff were polite, friendly and helpful.
Food was good..breakfasts were huge.
What a great find, delicious breakfast comfortable room and friendly staff. A stones throw from the station for Sheringham and Cromer visits but also a great walk. We never used the facilities but there was also a pool gym and golf course
Had a lovely stay, asked for a higher quiet room and we were given a lovely room which was just that, with an added sea view. Very welcoming receptionist, had a nice swim in the pool. Excellent location, right next to the train station. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.
The towel rail in the bathroom was on constantly which I thought was a bit wasteful, and probably not good in a heatwave!
The TV was a bit old and was a bit temperamental.
Lack of service
The hotel is in a lovely location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and although, not large, it had everything I needed and was good value for the price I paid.
I'm afraid the mattress was not comfortable at all, which meant that I didn't have a peaceful sleep.
Beautiful hotel with exceptionally polite staff.
The leisure facilities were superb and the room was beautiful with views stretching across the fields and golf course.
Only downfall was the lift didn't go to the top floor.
But it can not be helped.
Location was good and facilities
Staff in the restaurant were rude
Location was perfect and easy to get to sheringham and Cromer
No decafe tea bags in room
