I liked everything about this hotel, from room types,customer service, and facilities like pool and gym.The hotel had a relaxing atmosphere with a serene pool. Also the hotel has a very secure and safe environment.The hotel was in a prime location.
It is an excellent value for a budget hotel in Bangkok.
This hotel is in a good location and easy to find. Good parking available and good sized room with comfortable bed and good bathroom; AC worked well. Checkin was speedy as was checkout. Refurbishment needed with new paint. Room looks a bit tired.
This is a warning to any travellers contemplating staying at SGSR.
We've read the reviews and hotel details in prior of make a booking. But we found SGSR is much below our expectation, the apartment is outdated as well as not in proper maintenance, aged building, poor signal of WiFi & TV, old furnitures and electricity appliances. Gym, sauna, bathroom in rooftop swimming pool floor were all broken. The best is only spacious room in quietly CBD corner, with parking lot, nice pool and many restaurants nearby. Afterall, it is not as good as other service apartments in the same area.
Remark: 2,000 baht cash deposit must be paid upon checking in seems weird.
This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. Unfortunately this time was quite disappointing. The gym was unavailable and the clothes washing machine was not working. After contacting reception about the broken washing machine, they did not offer me a new room or fix the broken machine.
I stayed here for 3 nights just recently after looking on Agoda whilst travelling on a bus from down south to Bangkok. I read reviews and was hesitant but thought why not..Everyones perspectives are different Whilst the place is dated I wasn’t disappointed . Rooms are spacious, bed comfortable. The rooftop pool isn’t deep and doesn’t have a lot of shade but good for a quick cool down and great views of the skyline. The neighbourhood is great for a Thai experience. Not too many foreigners. No getting hassled for massages etc. Cheap eateries around but also expensive ones at a short distance. BTS close also. Would definitely stay here again.
Let's talk about the good points first: Location is not bad and there is a 7-11 just round the corner, and a CP mart slightly further down the road. Quite a few cafes and small eateries along the road. The room is good size and the air conditioning units are efficient. There is a kitchenette, dining area, living room, 2 TVs, bedroom with wardrobe, dressing table and study table. Now, the bad points : the wifi in the room does not work, the cutleries are not complete, the TVs only have one English channel and the sound is not clear, the sliding wardrobe door is stuck, the room safe needed to be opened by reception because it was locked (and after that we did not feel safe putting anything in it), the amenities do not include bed room slippers, shaving kit, facial tissues, bath robes. We booked a room with breakfast only to find out the "cook" is not available and the receptionist upgraded the room to a larger one. When the wifi did not work, she tried her best and even got their in-house technician to come to help but still it did not work. She had to give us a pocket wifi the next day, to make up for this shortfall. They are also not able to call for a taxi unless we are going to the airport. The house keeping also "forgot" to clean up the room and the front desk had no idea they did not clean it. No matter how courteous the staff are, they will not be able to make up for all the shortfalls. I guess for US$55 a day, one cannot expect too much.. But, unless you have tons of patience, do not book this place.
I arrived at 11pm, the reception was prepared and it took moments to book in. The room was fine but no view and the balcony door no security lock. The safe didn't work. there is a free ride noted to take you to the local station but the service didn't exists. The TV in the room has one English channel.
The multi gym was broke, the men's sauna center wall and ceiling were falling down and the pool was filthy. The doors in the bath room were rotting and the ceiling tiles had been removed. Rubbish bags, cleaning equipment and containers all were left on the pool floor area, it wasn't good.
We asked for towels as we wanted to use the pool and they didn't turn up but it was ok as the pool was as mentioned filthy.
To get a taxi you have to walk to the main road which is about 8 minute walk down the soi 11.
The restaurant was not open either.
We stayed here for 2 nights and paid £ 30.00 per night, this is an old residence hotel in a run down area of Sathorn, Bangkok. The room was very basic of average size with small kitchen,fridge and microwave, bed was ok. The pool looked run down on the roof and the water murky so we opted out of that. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. My advice is to upgrade to a better hotel in Bangkok as the city is an acquired taste so you need some comfort to make your stay enjoyable. Do not use the roads they are unusable use the sky train or underground train to travel both cheap and fast. I will not venture to Bangkok again
The Wi-Fi didn’t work in the hotel for three days I was there the elevators are broken down the water supply was bad the sheets were dirty.
We have stayed 4 nights but will not stay here again.
Hotel looks nice, especially rooftop pool but it all needs renovation.
1. We arrived in the late afternoon and had to wait at least 45 minutes before the receptionist was able to check us in ( we were the only guests at reception at that time) and then she almost wanted to give us another room for 1 night when we had booked 1bedroom apt. No service minded at all, very incompetent.
2.Finally we got a room on the highest floor (7th) which looks great at the first sight but was very disappointing, shower was not working at all, we mentioned it to reception but nobody came to fix it. Luckily we had a jacuzzi which we used but there we only had hot water, no cold water at all. Toilet seat was broken, leaking and a constant smell.
3. It are apartments with cleaning service but no possibility to put a message with ‘no disturb’ on the door so the cleaning staff will knock on your door every single morning when you are still chilling.
4. Internet was available and working all times, but only in living room.
Checked in for a week hotel seemed ok at first then the problems started to rise:
1: no internet said technician coming waited 3 days still no technician and no internet for entire stay.
2: no English channels and most tv channels were horrible reception.
3. Advertised restaurant but never seemed to be open.
4. Hot water was luke warm, no hot water in kitchen sink.
5. Cockroaches come out at night in room.
6. Pool was green with mould build up around edges.
7. Sauna out of service.
8. Gym equipment faulty.
9. Hotel might as well be a drop off point for school across the road cause there seemed to be more parents waiting to pick up children from school.
10. Most places on street closed Sunday.
11. Tried to charge for mini bar items that didnt exist upon check out.
12. Toilet seat broken, I'm not a heavy person but just about fell off.
13. Make sure you have some cream to get rid of the itching as I presume from the bedding either bed bugs or scabies.
I usually don't write a bad review but this place definately deserved it, was that disgusted with service, constant excuses from the staff that I forfeighted what nights I had left and moved hotel.
Best advise, don't waste your money or time, It might look good on the website, but it's anything but nice.

Quite area and safe area, you can get a text in front of the hotel just about any time, nice swimming pool on the sky deck , rooms have washing and drying machine, stove with pot and frying pan, plates, bowls , hot pot, kitchen cutlaries , washroom has a tub and shower, great place for a family.
This is the worst hotel I have ever had to deal with in my entire life. I booked my mother here for 15 days and after 5 she had to leave they took advantage of her as an old person. There was no hot water, the pool was out of order and filthy, and the Internet didn't work. This place is a despicable disgrace.
My mother who is old booked the room twice by mistake for the first night. We called agoda and they said there would be no problem refunding the card they just had to call the hotel. The hotel refused but Agoda ended up paying the extra amount and said that the hotel was not being fair. We didn't need 2 hotel rooms and the hotel had us pay for a room not in use.
We asked to leave early after 5 days because the hotel was not habitable with no hot water with a million other problems but the hotel wouldn't refund our money. It was so terrible we called Agoda who told the hotel to let us leave and again they refused. Agoda refunded our money and took the loss and told us to leave the hotel immediatley and that there would be consequences for this hotel on their system. Apparently this hotel is notorious.
My Mother also had to change rooms once and left the key on the dresser and went downstairs to move. They accused her of losing it and were going to illegally charge her card. I had to leave work and go down and fight with them. When I said I would dispute the credit card charge the key was magically found by housekeeping. This was after putting my Mother through and hour of worry and her searching everywhere including her old room which she had to search herself.
Looking at the other reviews here it looks like no hot water, pool being closed and no Internet had been a problem for over a year. I work and live in Thailand and
this is not a 4 star place it's a tire fire. STAY AWAY I cannot stress that enough.
Unfortunately the pool was closed. The gym equipment was broken. The safe in the room didn't work and there was only non English satellite tv.
The staff didn't seem concerned with any of this so I left and stayed at a much nicer hotel for the same price.
Overall a very disappointing stay.
I would not stay there again as there are many other options in the same price range that actually have what they advertise.
This hotel is onevof the worse experience i have had in 49 years of travel the customer serice was horrible i saw no restaurant or room service the oool was closed half the time the internet dod not work in the room i accidential double book the one twice for one nice and they would not refund the money. I had multiple issues with them i left early even though paid for it to.get another hotel do not do to this hotel period until it is upgrade and they learn how to.treat customers
a place with potential, unfortunately so badly neglected it is no longer possible to stay there.
The staff were really nice, but one hopes they find alternative employment as the management is not willing/able to spend money to professionally repair or renovate,
it is a clear case of taking profits and not investing even in the basics.
In the present condition it would have to close in any other country.
-swimming pool: great area but broken (green and filthy)and health risk,-fitness room: all equipment broken,-rooms: not clean, old equipment need complete renovation: old beds, shabby torn interior,- internet: very,very poor,-bathroom: vanity old and wonky, sometimes flimsily fixed, even the shampoos etc. are so cheap -tv: poor reception,few channels.
Check in was slow and painful, but overall good stay. Rooms are spacious and have balconies.
