Charming decor, lovely staff. Beautiful atmospheric central.
Pros:

We chose top floor despite stairs because verandah with comfortable chaise and breeze through old mango tree were beautiful on hot afternoon. Ambience so nice.
Loved the access to pool at Promenade Hotel a short walk away at seafront.
Room was quiet with good AC and great bed. Really enjoyed this heritage hotel. Each room we saw was different.

Cons:

Eggs cooked to order were great but we found pastries not so good despite bakeries and reputation of French pastry being big in Pondi. Bread and cereals a little average as in all South India but hoped Pondi might be better.
Staff confused re whether breakfast was at Promenade hotel ( not so) as noted in some reviews. Lucky I knew about using their pool from older reviews most people did not seem to know. And it is so hot it made a huge difference.
Capuchino was a treat.

A uniquely cozy experience with a lovely French vibe in the heart of Pondicherry
Pros:

Loved the ambience of a historic building with French style architecture and antique decor. The staff was very good. Also loved location in white town with proximity to restaurants, shopping, beach, ashram, etc.

Cons:

The bathrooms needs updating. Old and some rooms smelled.

Good location and excellent property but spoiled because of poor service
Pros:

Excellent location, heritage property so has the old colonial look

Cons:

Poor communication with hotel guests.
Didn’t check when we are coming as our flight was to arrive a bit late
Did not communicate clearly regarding the upgrade which we were given
Did not communicate that morning buffet breakfast was cancelled
Had to repeatedly request simple things as extra towels or shower gel
Poor supervision of junior reception staff

A beautiful property with a helpful, friendly and smiling staff.
Pros:

The staff was fantastic. Restaurant service excellent.
Front desk wonderful. And Padmini and Upasana were so very sweet and helpful. Manager helped us out with special requests as well.

Cons:

Last day internet for visa machine wasn’t working but that was NOT the hotel’s fault.
