The man greeting us excels at customer service. Patient, Kind, Informative
Pros:

Arriving to attend a funeral in Paisley st the next day it was such a delight to be greeted by a staff member who went to a lot of trouble to describe exactly how to get to the Church and the location of the nearby parking for it. Later this attention to detail was displayed when we asked about nearby food options. The Bruschetta and gnocchi at Charlie's Pizza place further along Droop st at131 was of a very high standard, thus making The Footscray Motor Inn a very convenient place to stay. I greatly appreciated being able to get a ground floor room. Room was comfortable.

Cons:

A change of plants in the garden in the courtyard to something colourful could make the initial impact more inviting. Same applies to front garden. For me there was a sense of unkempt and it lowered my expectation immediately. The information booklet was not up to date as their restaurant displayed in the booklet no longer exists.

Convenient but uncomfortable stay
Pros:

The location was convenient with the bus and tram nearby. I also thought the newly renovated bathroom was really lovely and the size of the room was also quite good. I appreciated the extra blanket. The receptionist who I met upon arrival was very good and called to check my arrival time. Check out was an easy process.

Cons:

There was very loud sounds outside the room past midnight even approaching 3/4 in the morning every night of my stay and people seemed to be standing outside the door or close by at that time and yelling/smoking. The rooms were not soundproof, and this stay was the most unsafe I have felt as a solo female traveler. The room is a bit worn, bed uncomfortable, pillow too thin. Some of the photos online don't quite line up with the reality there was no desk or table in my room and the room much more worn (except for bathroom) than appears online. Missing some basic essential items such as coat hangers for the closet.

Absolutely not worth the money we spent on it
Pros:

Absolutely nothing

Cons:

It was filthy and dodgy the curtains, carpets and walls were covered in filth the couch was falling apart there was hole all through out the walls and the safety chain on the door was missing and rusted as two women travelling on our own it made us feel so unsafe that we ended up having to wedge one of the dining chairs under the door handle I would never recommend this place

Bedding is very thin, bed moves easily as on wheels, walls are sort of thin you can hear all night ppl having showers and talking very easily :(

Basic nights stay for a festival, I’d stay again.
Pros:

Location with easy access to Flemington park

Cons:

Room is very tired, it was clean but the walls were cracked with a few holes, the curtains ripped, the toilet roll holder tapped up and the carpet ripped.

Pros:

Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Liked it having bus & tram stop next to hotel. Free car parking. Room was clean and tidy. Daily servicing during the week.

Cons:

Rooms ok but cant help that the area of footscray was a bit "dodgy", especially at night.
The TV was very slow at times and wifi reception/connection fluctuated on and off. No foxtel.
Noisy some nights during our stay with people staying in other rooms yelling outside in the middle of the night. Had the apartment above us having a party at midnight and turning on spa bath jets- which was very loud (both the bath and the occupants)- room not very sound proof.
Didnt like that smoking was permitted outside in common areas (including some poeple sitting on outside steps smoking) and the multiple cigarette collection trays around outside.
