Pros:

Clean, comfortable room on the ground floor. Hotel benefits from free parking and is close to the seafront. Breakfast was really good, with a wide choice of hot options which are cooked to order.

Cons:

Bathroom could do with a facelift, it is a little dated but was clean. The lady who checked us in was a bit brusque, didn't say a lot and just thrust a card machine at me!

Pros:

Great location for us. Rooms individually decorated. Everything you need for a short stay. Superb breakfast. Great value for money.

Cons:

There was a hum in the room which did eventually stop and room was a little restricted down the side of the bed.

Great accomodation if you’re looking for somewhere that has good access to shops / walks in Portsmouth.
Pros:

Spacious room, good heating for the winter months! Wonderful breakfast, close to shops and lake.

Cons:

Slightly noisy, walls aren’t the most soundproof.

Noisy hotel, minimal sleep
Pros:

I stayed for one night and had the room at the front next to the reception called 'Glorious' with a jacuzzi bath. The food was tasty and delivered quickly. Location was good for me and the cleanliness was ok. Quirky and unique decor is a plus point. The value is okay, would have been worth it if I had a good nights sleep.

Although the room was pleasant, the jacuzzi was lovely and the breakfast was nice, I would not stay by reception ever again and not sure if I would recommend this hotel as I don't know if the other rooms suffer from the same issue of the noise. I don't know how anyone gets any sleep in that front ground floor room.

Cons:

I stayed for one night and had the room at the front next to the reception called 'Glorious' with a jacuzzi bath. I had a terrible nights sleep as sound proofing there is non existent. Between 1am and 7am I got woken up four or five times with other guests coming in drunk or chatting in the hall, staff coming in and out and people crashing around. I almost missed my train in the morning I was so tired from the lack of sleep and being woken up so many times. I was exhausted all day the next day. The room was also very cold even with the small electric radiator on for the night - there was no central heating in the room. Breakfast was a rushed scrambled eggs on toast and coffee. I almost couldn't go and eat breakfast as I was running late from the lack of sleep. There was no non dairy milk. There was a stain on the bedding which should have been clean. The value is okay, would have been worth it if I had a good nights sleep.

BEUTIFUL PLACE RIGHT IN CITY ON A GREAT STREET WALKING DISTANCE TO MAINSTREET.
Pros:

HAD TO CATCH FERRY IN MORNING, SO DID NOT HAVE BREAKFAST...THE ROOM WAS BEUTIFUL AND THE LOCATION WAS GREAT, WE WALKED INTO TOWN HAD A REALLY NICE DINNER AND SOME DRINKS...PEOPLE IN REASTAURANTS WERE REALLY GREAT, EVEN THOUGH WE DID NOT HAVE A RESERVATION, THEY SAT US A BAR, WHICH WE LIKED AND FOOD WAS GREAT.

Cons:

STAIRS...NOT A FAN FOR STAIRS BUT IT'S THE ONLY THING THAT IF YOU'RE OLD AND OUT OF SHAPE COULD BE A PROBLEM....I'M IN MY 70'S AND GOT OVER IT.

Good value for money
Pros:

The Breakfast was very good and well made. The room was clean and cosy, the bed was clean and comfortable.

Cons:

The sound isolation is very bad, so we could hear the other gests in their rooms. In the evening between 8.30PM and 10PM some of the guests was shouting in the corridor and their room, and the staff didn't react
