Littleton is a charming town with old New England character. Thayer is right in the middle
Old plumbing, ancient carpets.
Historical, cool old facility, comfortable
Bathroom window was sort of yucky but without an exhaust fan and the warning to not let shower steam set off fire alarm, I felt I had to open it .
A bigger lamp would suit the room better (mine had dark wall paper)
location and history of the hotel. Beds were comfortable. Wish there were more pillows.
rooms are very dated and small. Did not have the continental breakfast, but can only imagine that most of the food served is off of a Sysco truck. I love that the hotel has history, however they need to update the rooms to match their pricing. Definitely more expensive than what was offered.
The location was great right on Main Street where everything is and close to area main attractions.
The bed was awful- very squeaky, squishy, so didn’t sleep much. The a/c made loud noises all night. There was only 1 light switch to the room so if you put it on to use the bathroom it lit the whole room up at night. Couldn’t use their pub/ bar area because there was a bible study. Which was disappointing as Everything closes real early by 9pm.
The location is great, plenty of free parking space and a few EV chargepoint chargers. Nice walk path near the water. The beds were comfortable and friendly staff.
So many bad reviews on the breakfast, but honestly it was pretty decent and all included in the price: bagels, wrapped waffles & pastries, pop tarts, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, jams & cream cheese.
Shower curtains are not great and not a lot of shampoo although I’m sure you can ask some more at the front desk.
Central location to the entire town which has many restaurants and brew pubs. The property is clean, quiet and has a lot of history.
No complaints
It has history and well maintained
Property was perfect
Room 13 mattress was the very worst I’ve slept on. It was so incredibly hard my limbs went numb.
The room was okay, but the floor was very uneven.
The room was okay, but the floor was very uneven.
Location is perfect in the center of Littleton. A beautiful All-American town. Benches out front to just sit and watch people and cars go by. Bed frame headboard looked new. Air conditioner worked. Fridge and micro in room with coffee and cups. Bathroom was clean with soaps, shampoos and clean towels. Bed sheets were clean. Municipal parking and picknick tables behind the hotel.
Advert says, 'completely renovated.' Advert also shows photos of rooms with nice clean hardwood floors. Not carpets. I've stayed there before in 2012, and it seems, nothing has been done since then or maybe even before that. It was old and not too bad back then, but it's just been let go since then. The room has old carpets that smell and an old ceiling that is cracking and stained. Just felt crummy and grubby in the room. We kind of wished that gravity would take a break so you wouldn't have to walk on the carpets in your bare feet after showering. Front desk is not always manned and they don't answer the phone after 8PM. I tried to call to verify the wood floors the night before, but no-answer on the phone and no voice mail. It just rings.
Additionally you need a key code to enter the hotel after 8PM. Guests forget their code so, you, feeling badly for them and using your best judgement that they are guests and not dangerous street folks, end up being the door man for strangers. Front desk lady is kind of gruff and kind of threatening, letting you know that if you don't return the little plastic parking tag which costs about a nickle, that she will charge you $50. I expected the place to be nicer than when I stayed there a decade ago. After all they advertsed, 'completely renovated.' Very disappointing. I didn't eat there. I peeked into the kitchen and it looked kind of delapidated and messy. However if you'd like an old, rustic and smelly room, in a perfect location , this might be the right place for you. Pay a little more, stay elsewhere and enjoy your time in the mountains.
