Top, top hotel. Everything was first class, check-in, my room, the food, Bar service, and the facilities. With an added bonus of views over the racecourse and the golf course.

We found the beds uncomfortable, sprung mattresses with no topper. Everyone is different but haven’t slept in a bed like that in a hotel for a long time
The room was very comfortable for my two children and me. We had two double beds. The bathroom was well equipped with a great shower. We did find the room very warm so we had to put the air conditioning on - even though it was about 4C outside when we went to bed!
The races were on when we arrived (unexpectedly) so we enjoyed the children's rides and seeing the horses!
The swimming pool (with hot tub for over 18s) was excellent and a big hit with my children.
The breakfast was also excellent - there was loads of choice, it was all fresh and appealing and the chef would make eggs or waffles to order. The staff were very friendly to my children and they were both delighted to have freshly made waffles with icing sugar and chocolate spread on the side.
We had a small problem where I had paid for the booking up front through booking.com and then when we checked out I was given a new bill for a greater price. The reception staff couldn't solve this issue and we had to leave so I rang two days later - as the new, greater cost had been taken from my credit card, and a day after that I was refunded this new cost.

Overall the decor just looked a bit tired
Location and food in the bar.
No tea in the room and no toilet roll. It felt like the room had only been half finished when cleaning. Asked reception for teabags and got given two when there was four of us in the room. Large crack on the base of the shower.
Spacious, clean, good food and pool
Couldn’t get WIFI (even having asked staff member for help) No English Breakfast Tea in room, when contacted staff was told he would bring some to room. After an hours- nothing! Contacted desk again to be told there was NO English Breakfast Tea at all but that was a shop 10 minutes walk away!!
Also asked for more sugar which again was not delivered as promised . When having Dinner we asked waitress about Tea bags and she gave us 4. Absolutely unbelievable for a FIVE Star Hotel.

the staff on check in were more than help full , the bar staff ( Dody) was a great hoist and looked after all my needs and nothing was to much trouble for him credit to the hotel

Stay there many times and always have a great sleep
My info was hacked and had a fake message from booking.com trying to take my money and called booking .com and they said it was the hotels leak but when I got to reception they say booking.com leaked my info so have not had time to get to the bottom of this yet!
