Pros:

Booked to keep my 91 year old mum safe in the heat as they advertised air con. In a heatwave of 35+ temperatures and the air con did not work. Restaurant awful, grumpy chefs…….but temperatures didn’t help. Food inedible. Sent all three meals back. Not a good experience for us.

Very pleasant experience, excellent welcome
Pros:

Very pleasant! Lovely and very helpful staff at the reception, very accommodating and friendly. Same at the bar. In the restaurant, we experienced obviously a period of changes in the menu, too many things on the (not too big!) menu were not available, which was really a shame, so eating there can get kind of boring. Lovely: horse riding and golfing option. Pleasant people.

Friendly excellent location for exploring the area
Pros:

Excellent location for visiting Hever Castle, all of the staff really helpful & friendly, had the pool to ourselves each evening!

Confirmed reservation not honoured - room not available on arrival
Pros:

My partner booked 2 king sized adjoining rooms for him and our teenager who is autistic and struggling with the heat. We are having building work done and my other half was planning to work at the hotel and take my son to school from there. Turns up, only one room. He’s managing my son so I call central reservations and I wait for 10 minutes for Ahmed to try to figure it out. He comes back and says it’s a hotel issue and to call the hotel direct so I do. I speak to Vivian? I explain the situation. He constantly interrupts me and talks over me. He never once said sorry for the inconvenience, he just said that my other half must have booked through central reservations so it’s a them issue. I would hesitate to book Marriott again knowing that a reservation might not be honoured in this way. Apparently there is another room available but it’s not adjoining so perhaps another guest was given the wrong room. No attempt to rectify, couldn’t have cared less about my son’s disability. Horrendous

Pros:

The staff were always willing and friendly. The room was comfortable. The lifts always arrived quickly. The swimming pool was a nice size. The outside seating area spacious and comfortable, overlooking the racecourse.

Cons:

Planes overhead constantly, shame to have to shut the window.

Lovely hotel, would definately stay again!
Pros:

It’s a great location for exploring Kent attractions, you don’t have to be a horse racing or golf fan to stay here. The hotel and amenities were great, what we ate at the restaurant was yummy but what really made it memorable was how lovely the staff were. We received wonderful customer service at this Marriott!

Cons:

Nothing comes to mind.
