For many years when I come to Nairobi I stay in this hotel and regard it my home in Kenya. The most friendly people, cosy and clean rooms, good place for meetings, good spa and food in the restaurant. My friends ask why I chose this hotel when there are plenty newer and bigger in the city. I love it - is what I answer. Asante.

We stayed at The Heron By Sarovar Portico for a full month as part of a large group visit to Nairobi, and what began with a few early teething issues ended as one of the most impressive hospitality experiences our group has ever had.
To be honest, the first days presented some challenges — as any extended group stay often can. However, what set this hotel apart was the warmth and genuine commitment with which every member of staff moved to address those concerns. Not once did we feel dismissed or overlooked. Quite the opposite.
Two members of the team deserve particular recognition. Joy in Sales was exceptional — professional, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our group's needs were met. Wesley, the Food & Beverage Manager, was outstanding. His communication was proactive, his manner was always gracious, and his determination to get things right was evident every single day.
A special word must also go to Chef Baker and his kitchen team. From the moment they understood what our group required, the quality and consistency of the food improved day by day. His willingness to work with us and adapt was remarkable.
The highlight of our entire stay — and perhaps one of the most memorable dining experiences we have collectively had — was a large ceremonial Passover dinner that the hotel helped us facilitate. The kitchen and service team surpassed themselves completely. The quality of the food, the precision of the service, and the care taken to honour the significance of the occasion were simply exceptional. It was a moment our whole group will never forget, and it could not have happened without a team who genuinely cared.
To every member of staff at The Heron — front desk, housekeeping, kitchen, management — thank you. You turned a long stay into a home away from home.

I had an amazing moments at heron,the staff were amazing very welcoming and friendly...Thank you to Fridah and Caeser for the wonderful hospitality. The breakfast was good and just like the food at home. And the restaurant staff were very attentive yo all allowed my request.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is excellent, and the hotel is not expensive!
If anyone wants more, let them go to a 5-star hotel and spend more money easy
