Overall happy we chose hotel and would recommend for one or two nights
Pros:

The location to train station and hop on/off bus stop. Large room with comfortable bed

Cons:

It’s of course a bit quirky with elevator operation and squeaky floors but the historic hotel is hanging in there. Steps throughout the main ding room was well attended by staff and good food.

Overall good stay but breakfast needs to improve.
Pros:

Ideally located. Lovely art deco building. Lots of charm and history.

Cons:

The hotel itself was great. The breakfast was disappointing. It was an extra cost and was basic fare. No fruit, cheeses or lots of different choices of bread.

A grand old hotel in need of freshening up.
Pros:

Garage parking, lovely grounds, great staff, majestic appearance.

Cons:

Dim lighting in public areas, couldn’t get jacuzzi tub to run in room 48. Entire facility in need of upgrade.

Great location. Lovely building with great potential.

Cons:

Shabby, scuffed public areas, dirty chairs in hall ways. Awful bathrooms. Bath had hole which was filled with plaster. Cobwebs on light fittings. Dreadful banister going from ground to first and second floor which was sticky to touch. Staircases dusty. Soft uncomfortable beds. Rotting window frames.

Fab staff, location, deco, history, and comfort - great!
Pros:

Beautiful architecture, decor, lovely options for seating for evening drinks etc., the staff were all super friendly, the room was clean and the bathroom at the end of the hallway (we had a traditional room) was great too. Fab location. Just great overall.
