Character very clean nice staff
Bed a little soft for my preference
Beautiful nostalgic hotel, best place to stay in Katoomba. Staff are fantastic and really want you to enjoy your stay.
The cleanliness of the whole place. There was a lot of dust throughout our room and in the general areas. Our room was not vacuumed daily and the bed was not made until late afternoon when we had returned from being out all day. We then had the leave the room for the cleaner to come. The breakfast was disappointing as there was no gluten free options for my husband.
Old school charm, secure parking
Bathroom was excellent.
Breakfast was terrible and not value at $30 per person.
Great value for the price, the hotel feels like being in a movie in the best way, very original
The location and history of the property were excellent
The hotel don’t offer meals on Monday nights, so we had to eat out which wasn’t a problem, we therefore returned to the hotel after eating out for drinks at the bar at 8:30pm only to be told the bar was closing, due to lack of customers. And the same happened the following night.
Wow! This was a huge surprise - in a good way :) This is not your average country pub!! It's a magnificently restored hotel from Australia's golden era. I didn't know Australia still had hotels like this! Happily for us, we were here on a cold, drizzly day so we had a convenient excuse to spend lots of time in the Carrington's cozy fireplace bar/lounge. This is one of those rare places in Australia where the place you stay is more memorable than the location itself - not that the Blue Mountains isn't glorious, but the Carrington is a destination in itself. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Nothing to dislike. We had a private (locked) bathroom at the end of the hallway (which we knew about before we booked), and it was the most minor inconvenience - almost a bonus, as it added to the character of the place and the experience.
The heritage atmosphere, the spacious rooms and the charming staff.
Derek was lovely. The building is lovely. Location is great.
