Summerville Beach Resort

The hotel was not in an ideal place and the kitchen and bar staff didn't have a clue what to do, the room was ok and kept very clean, the cleaning staff are very good especially Alan the manager. I could not swim in the pool as its very dirty

Staff not welcoming ( only cleaning lads ) never anyone for breakfast luckily had my own kettle ! Hotel basically runs itself full of people bringing in own booze and music which went on all hours of the night ! Complained loads of times as no sleep for nights on end would not recomend for familys only party animals

Rundown property but in a good location. Everything needs updating although everything seemed to work ie good wifi and hot water which seems to be at a premium in Goa.

Having stayed in the area for many years but not able to get into my usual accommodation chose The Summerville as it was in the right location for me. Not knowing what I should expect was pleasantly surprised on my arrival. Staff were lovely, rooms were very clean. Breakfast very basic but what do you want for the rating. As I had booked an upgraded room to ensure I had, TV, fridge and AC was a little disappointed that I could only get 2 English channels on the TV and no news at all. Overall my experience was very good and I would definitely return here.

food is fine... but horrible experience at hotel...its not worth for what we paid...

Nära till stranden el promenadstråket,skönt med pool om man inte ville till havet. Hyfsat rena rum. Personalen i stort bra men krånglade till informationen när vi sökte en resebyrå påstod att vi var tvungna att ta oss med taxi till Calangute när det fanns en resebyrå alldeles nära...är nöjd med vistelsen

Although this is described as a beach hotel, there is no direct access to the beach. Compared with other hotels in India I found this one clean and well maintained. The swimming pool looked clean. Everything worked, although the air conditioner was a little noisy mainly because it made the windows rattle. For the price, I think this was a reasonable hotel and close to restaurants and shops. I would stay here again.

The rooms were clean and tidy that was probably the only good thing about Summerville Beach "RESORT". By the heavy name people might think it has got a personal beach. The reality is, it has got no bar, no restaurant, even mineral water is limited. The entrance is like a haunted house. There is no one in the reception if you need any help. The swimming pool and garden is filled with rubbish. There are plenty of pocket friendly hotels arround this so called RESORT, that are much better in all aspects. Choose wisely :))

My Experience with hotel is very bad , becoz of staff is very ruthless , not co operavite , hotel's staff is not very good, room interior is very bad , so i wish to expedia , i future plz do not suggest to any body for booking a hotel.

Expensive neighbour hood . Food quality is average

Not a pleasing experience in terms of hotel service and cleanliness of the room.

Manager is rude. They are not well prepared. They say that they are 4 stars. But they are actually of the 2 star standards.

the place is 45 minits by taxi from the airport/the beach is clean,sandy,few minits from the main street.about the hotel: the first evening we arrived,there was no water to have shower.it took 1 hour to fix the problem and for compensation'they gave us an upgrade room.further on we enjoyed our staying in tje hotel.the staff are gentil.

Hotel was actually below my expectation.... they charged me for 3 Start but it was actually kind of gov. guest house.

Most likely due to the ongoing off season, the hotel had sent most of its staff on leave. Consequently the bar and the restaurant were closed. Same was not informed in advance. The reception staff did not bother to pick up calls either directly or through intercom. The hotel location was unclear and numerous calls to the reception went unanswered. Only after an hour long search was able to locate the hotel but only to find the recption staff busy in watching television with the phones in ringing mode! A simple request for a cup of coffee at the reception was met with the revert "You have your car. Please come and take us along in your car to the coffee shop (as it is a bit far away) and we would bring the cup of coffee for you'. While checking out, nobody was available at the reception, all calls went unanswered, so had to leave the keys on the reception desk and leave. Called them up later during the day to enquire whether self had any dues to settle; only to get a revert 'Please call back after 2 minutes"! The hotel would be okay for a budget traveller (strictly on a shoe string budget) with no expectations on service.

i went with family and child for 3 night ,food was ok, hospitality was not very egood by the manager.it`s not a 3 star its just showing on the web sit e.the hotel dont have 3 star certificate. when i reached to the hotel manager was very rude.if u r looking for hospitality is not in this accomodation.

Gennemgående var vi tilfreds med opholdet på hotellet, men på grund af tyveri fra vores aflåste værelse, hvor vi ikke fik nogen hjælp fra ledelsen, - nærmere tværtimod -.Direktøren og hans underdirektør var ubehagelig, rettere uforskammet og langt fra imødekommende og ville ikke gøre noget ved sagen ej heller anmelde tyveriet til politiet, kan vi ikke anbefale hotellet til andre.

The location of this hotel is good and indeed the condolium beach is within 300 mts. Overall this hotel is an average hotel. Although hotel staff is local one so you cannot find them very helpful but if you indeed ask for a specific thing [like sight seeing tours etc.] they will tell u about it. Hotel staff do lack professionality but overall their behaviour shows the hospitality of GOA.

Positives:
1. Rooms are average sized but good in condition and value for money.
2. Cleanliness is good. They clean it on daily basis. The bed size is average [do not expect a king size bed]
3. Condition of AC in rooms are not very good.
4. Location of this hotel is 100 mts from main road and nearby beach location is withing 300 mts.
5. The location is free from road side noise and really a calm place to stay.
6. When I visited the swimming pool was in good contidition and you can play in the pool at lisure.
7. Location of hotel is such that you can easily catch a taxi or bus for anywhere in GOA.

Points of improvement:
1. Hotel staff needs to be more professional especially in the way they communicate.
2. Staff needs to actively communicate about the various activities a guest can book from their counter rather than sitting on thier chairs and waiting for a customer to enquire.
3. AC condition in the room needs to be taken care of.
4. The quality of food prepared is quite below standard and is a vital area for improvement.
5. The hotel may get good bussiness if they can arrange booking for water sports which is not currenty present there.
6. The quality of breakfast offered is not quite satisfactory.

I stayed in this hotel for around 7 days and after eating food on the first day decided not to eat there second time. I can rate my overall stay as good in this hotel [except food]and my intial decision to choose this one was right.
The present rating of this hotel as a 3 star rating is little exggerated one and if the hotel improves on the above points then it may be rated as a 3 star hotel. If I visit GOA next time I definitly want to check if the hotel improved on the above points or not and then decide whether to stay there or not?

Caution:
1. Food served in and around the hotel area is very expensive [cost that can parallel the cost of food in various malls in NOIDA and GURGAON].
2. The cost of food in and around the hotel area is not uniform.
3. If you want to buy some items like hats etc do buy them from Calangute rather than buying in and around the hotel place.
4. When you go to beach better buy food items and then go to beaches [especially liquours].
5. Except food items and packed items try to bargain while purchasing an item.
