Need to do better not tap water in a bottle and supply shower mat

Pros:

Friendly, helpful staff and great location for WInchester and the M3. The hotel is beautifully furnished, and very comfortable. We had a snack in the lounge rather than a meal in the restaurant and we didn't have breakfast so can't rate the food but everything else was excellent.

Fabulous Hotel
Pros:

We had a one night stay to visit the Van Goff experience, so knew nothing about the Voco. What a fantastic surprise we got, from the initial very friendly and helpful receptionist to the absolute surprise at how lovely the Hotel was especially the room. It was large like the American rooms I was used to many years ago, with two double beds and lots of room.
We had one very minor problem with two very bright lights which we couldn't turn off due to faulty switch, this presented no problem as we were immediately offered the room next door, plus a bar voucher, which was very kind but we didn't feel necessary but a lovely gesture.
We had a lovely meal in the Kitchen 21 restaurant, which was very good although my Wife thought four saute potatoes was a bit mean and her chicken could have been warmer, my Pie of the week was excellent.
A fabulous Hotel and we will definitely be back, when we visit the Winchester area again.

My Parents 60th Wedding Anniversary at Voco Spa Hotel Winchester
Pros:

Just want to say a big thank you to Rachel Hudson and the team at Voco hotel Winchester, it was my parents 60th wedding anniversary and everyone made this event even more special with attention to detail and how welcoming the staff where .. my folks had a fantastic time .. here’s to the next gathering .. Again thank you all concerned .

Anniversary celebrations made extra special
Pros:

As a family, we have used the hotel before for accommodation and the restaurant but this weekend we held a special family diamond wedding anniversary there. From the moment we arrived the team couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly.
We had 60 guests in a private area and the buffet was delicious and plentiful. Rachel as the event team leader was brilliant and hard working with a smile and couldn’t do enough to make sure the celebrating couple were happy. Also Gabby on the bar team was great.
Well worth using for any special occasion celebration! Thank you all so much!

Comfortable, quiet and professional staff made our stay an excellent one.
Pros:

Rooms provided were very good. They were very quick to sort out any issues I had. We were travelling with a disable person and a dog and staff were very accommodating and understanding. Food was very good, with wide options to choose from.

The first time i've been to this hotel and it was underwhelming.
Pros:

The reception staff were friendly and helpful.
The gentleman who showed us to our table at breakfast was excellent. My friend is coeliac, so has specific dietary requirement. He was very knowledgeable and helpful, went and got the cereal options and explained very clearly about her choices. 😊

Cons:

The dinner on Saturday night was average.
I had ordered a vegetarian burger with coleslaw and skin-on fries.
I was surprised the coleslaw was not homemade, and it was in a tiny pot.
The chips were standard fries, when i queried this the waiter, a young man said they were skin on fries. They definitely weren't. He did offer to take my meal back and get something else, but that would have left my friend eating on her own while I waited, so I said it's okay.
When the young lady came to clear our plates i again commented on the fries, she said it depends what arrives in the delivery as to what we get. i suggest they update the menu in this case or tell the customer you don't have any.

When we went to pay the bill the tip was automatically added, we wanted to pay less than the 10% but round up so we paid the same each. This was not possible on your till apparently, it was what you had already or no tip, we had to go with the no tip option. I'm sure there's a way for the customer to tip what they like?

The Spa was much smaller than we expected and we had to wait 10 minutes for a member of staff to arrive. Our booking was 5pm, after waiting a while i went to main reception to see if they knew what was going on. The lady then appeared from behind the bar with drinks for customer's in the spa.

The spa area was ok but very few seats for the amount of people there. We had put our towels on what we thought we vacant chairs, only to have them removed when 2 ladies came along and told they were their chairs! bearing in mind they had been else for an hour and not in the spa.
This was very disappointing considering we had to pay £20 each for 2 hours. We had to leave after an hour as there was no where to sit and relax.
