A pleasant hotel.
Pros:

We selected this hotel because we wanted to be in the heart of the old center city. It was a nice hotel and in the summer it offers a small inner courtyard with a pool . It was central to the areas we were interested in. The room was technically oriented to the river - and you could see the river - but it was a stretch. It was the attic... so that was a bit of a disappointment but there was a larger group there so we may not have been able to negotiate for a better view - so we simply stayed out.

Cons:

We didn't love the attic room. It was a bit odd in shape and tight but the angles and the windows when opened presented challenges for me and my husband, as we are both tall and we could easily hit our heads. We slept pretty well but the 1st night was warm and there was quite a bit of noise that came from across the river... fortunately we kept our windows closed otherwise the noise would have been a bit more pronounced. If you are tall - ask to be in a room where the are no slanted ceilings. Plus - even though we paid for the river view - we had to stick our heads out of the window to look down to the river. It was a pretty view of the tops of the buildings...

Ghent Getaway with Charm
Pros:

Hotel Harmony was fabulous! We stayed six nights and the staff could not have been more accommodating! The breakfast was awesome, and we stayed on the top floor with a beautiful view of Ghent. The front desk staff helped with restaurant choices, and the location was awesome! We would definitely recommend a stay here while in Ghent.

Low ceiling! Avoid 4th floor certainly
Pros:

Great location next to the river. Room a good size but sloping ceiling means it’s even too low to sit up in bed! Nice bathroom.
Bar quite limited - can only make drinks on the menu. Take a five minute walk to Jiggers down the road for superb cocktails.
