Hôtel Belazur

The hotel is in need of a refurb, but it is clean, comfortable, staff are friendly, very reasonably priced, centrally located overlooking the square which can get noisy when the casino closes.
We always stay here when visiting Calais

In a nice place but not very clean and no hot water for a shower. Staff was very pleasant and helpful tho

Voor deze prijs niet te veel verwachten. Het ziet er van binnen wel wat beter uit dan buiten. Aardige personeel, vooral de gene die nachtdienst heeft.

This place is disgusting! Mold and filth, most amply describe it.

Wenn nicht das nette, bemühte Personal wäre, würde dieses Hotel die Referenz für das schlechteste Hotel darstellen. Gruselig.

The room had a carpet that wasn't clean and one corner had humidity

Trop bruyants le soir jusqu'à à 3h du matin du bruit de personnes dehors dans les bars puis les fermetures! Toilettes qui font du bruits,mauvaise nuit quoi!!

Dirty hotel. Had to change 3 rooms. First had leaking toilet, water on floor. Second room had no toilet seat. Third room was barely acceptable. Would never stay again or recommend.

Morning receptionist was lovely, however this was the only redeeming feature of the hotel. Beds were far too soft & low. Mattress had a huge tear in it. TV picture was terrible on all channels which made it unwatchable. Electrics were arse about face, they were not explained upon arrival & there was no information in any language in the room, which meant that when we woke in the morning we had no power to any electrics, so could not shower etc. We were on the 2nd floor & no telephone in room so couldn't contact reception without first dressing etc. When we got down to reception electrics were explained by receptionist & he said they had constant complaints about it, so we suggested that either guests should be informed on arrival or there should be info in the room.
Also no facilities in the room for making any type of drink, be it hot or cold. I definitely would not return & recommend that people avoid this hotel.

Toilet seat hanging off 2 small sachets of shower gel for 2 people for 2 nights no toilet roll on day 2 - pretty awful overall mainly housekeeping problems

Week-end sympa à l'hôtel Belazur. Accueil chaleureux, personnel disponible et petit déjeuner correct. Je recommande cet établissement.

Vétuste et pas très propre, aucune savonette, serviette usagée, pas de papier toilette, douche avec un filet d'eau, côté télévision seulement 3 chaines valides et très mauvaise réception etc....

Personnel d'accueil excellent à l'arrivée (moins bien au départ). Très bien situé avec vue sur la Place d'Armes, mais sans souci de bruit. Chambre propre, mais lits peu confortables. On sent l'effort mais il faudrait vraiment investir pour rendre le séjour agréable pour des vacances.

I stay here often, as other than the youth hostel, it's one of the few super budget options under 35 euro per night in the centre of Calais I feel safe in.

I've stayed in possibly half the rooms and they do vary in quality from ok to not really ok. The mattresses are fine. The towels and bedding are clean. The rooms are clean. It's the fixtures such as showers, toilets, heating that are variable. I'm there just to sleep, so I am happy with the price which varies between 25 and 35 euro per night.

The employees make up for the shortcomings in this hotel, they are indeed very helpful and kind.

Linked hotel is Citadel, rooms a bit better there, but it's noisier there, you need to collect the key from the Belazur.

This sort of hotel won't suit everyone, just people who care about having a comfortable bed and a shower.
