The room was completely renovated (we were the first guests). Room was spacious, beds were nice..

Some cosy lighting and a small table near the couch would be a wellcome addition..

This was a nice hotel for some down time. It is out in a more rural area and super quiet. There is a nice patio or balcony on each room to have a drink, enjoy the scenery and relax for a bit. We had been travelling for days and it was nice to just unwind for a night. We ate at their restaurant which served authentic German food which was really good. The price point for this hotel is more than reasonable for the quality of service snd comfort.

Sehr nettes Gastwirtspaar und Personal. Das Zimmer war schön groß, modern eingerichtet und sauber. Die Gegend, wie der gesamte Schwarzwald, war sehr schön und lädt zum Seele baumeln lassen ein. Landschaftlich hat man sehr viele und schöne Möglichkeiten zum Wandern.
Vom Zimmer her hat uns einzig die Höhe und die teils knotigen Synthetik Füllungen der Kissen gestört und die für Sommer zu dicken Decken. Sonst war wirklich alles hervorragend. Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit empfehlen und wieder dort Urlaub machen! Danke

However ...

On hotels.com, it says check-in from 1pm. When we arrived, everywhere was closed up and there was a sign saying check-in from 5pm.

When we finally checked in, we were shown to a fabulous room with top quality furnishings but no kitchen ... which we had booked. Back down to Reception where we had a pretty unpleasant conversation with the owner who said it wasn't his fault etc. After 10mins of this, he showed us to an apartment over Reception. It was huge: three bedrooms and a separate living-dining room plus a kitchenette. We breathed a sigh of relief, accepted that he wanted us to pay 15€ extra per day, and set about unpacking.

"Mein Frau" came to make up the beds and told us not to use one of the bedrooms. Which was fine, we didn't need it but her manner wasn't very friendly.

When she'd gone, we discovered that although there were 12 cups and saucers, there were no bowls or plates. There were no pans and the kettle leaked from the bottom. We were too tired and fed up to say anything else.

Overnight, we were disturbed by people coming and going - patrons of the restaurant, staff, deliveries etc. There's a road running between the two hotel buildings. It is unbelievably busy and noisy with locals: tractors, scooters and speeding cars and we had 3 nights of disturbed sleep.

We were sad to leave the area and think we were unlucky with Gasthof Adler

Gutes familienbetriebenes Hotel. Hotel zimmer sind groß und sauber, das Personal ist sehr freundlich.
Zum weiter empfehlen.

Die Gastgeber haben sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen.

Buena ubicación para disfrutar de la selva negra. Dificultades de comunicación porque sólo hablan alemán.

Habitacion horrible y vieja con vista a una construccion. No fueron amables. No volveria.

This was a perfect spot to unwind after a long flight from Canada. In the countryside, very green rolling hills and quite at night. Good food and drinks in the hotel. Comfortable bed and good shower.l

This family run Inn was super clean and accomodating. Our German was not too good, but the staff met us half way with their English and everything worked out fine. Tucked away off the road, you need to concentrate to see the signs to the place, but it was a great stay on our journey. No hassles, just make sure you have cash or Visa before heading there. A nice place to stay while taking a leisurely trip thru the Black Forest.

Great B&B - quite "out of the way" but very nice surroundings. Good food

Det er ganske fint hotel med alt det nødvendige i ordentlig stand. Nærmeste by hvor man kan handle ind ligger 10 min kørsel i bil. Ellers høfligheden og servicen på hotellet i top. Gasthaus'et er også godt og til fornuftige priser.
