Fox & Hounds Country Hotel

Unknown to me it has become a hotel to take dogs to. Dogs barking, corridor smelt of dogs. At breakfast up to 12 dogs in the restaurant. Even one owner feeding biscuits to a dog in the restaurant. Dogs allowed long lead in restaurant which I nearly tripped over. Not for anyone who does not have a dog.

Amazing food

Attended a wedding, food was amazing, staff very attentive, check in easy, it was so relaxing, what a lovely place, only one quibble i found the mattress uncomfortable so woudnt stay no more than a couple of nights, but the pillows where soft and comfy...Oh the tree

The staff were very friendly.
The bedroom decoration needed updating, we found the mattress uncomfortable. The walls were very thin, we could hear snoring from either side of us, plus talking etc.
It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit available for breakfast.

Lovely country retreat.

This was just an amazing place to stay with our dog. They even had a dog bowl and a doggy treat in the room. All the staff and owners were so friendly and helpful. The grounds are safe for dog walking. We had a perfect stay

A little too dog friendly particularly in the dining area. The dogs were not well behaved with many barking which we found very irritating whilst having dinner. Maybe future customers should be made aware of the situation.

Best dog friendly hotel in the country … or even in Europe! Fabulous walking around the hotel and dogs welcome in every part of the hotel including restaurant, bar and breakfast room! Fab!

Good position, friendly staff. Beautiful grounds for relaxing or walking.

The service and meals were excellent. The hotel has a comfortable atmosphere. If I were to make a criticism it would be that the rooms could do with updating.

stayed for a family wedding

The location was very good and convenient for a local family wedding. The restaurant food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Our bathroom net/curtain had a considerable amount of mold but in general the room was clean, if a little dated. The breakfast service on our last day was very poor with a very long wait for food and a lack of resources to handle the amount of guests.

Lovely stay

The hotel staff are all friendly and welcoming. Food was to a very high standard. Parkland also excellent and ideal for a doggy. The rooms were tired and dated and the walls were paper thin. We spent all night listening to next door snoring and moving around on their bed. We must of only had an hours sleep so not ideal.

Had a lovely relaxing few days. Last minute booking! Couldn’t fault the service and the lovely rooms, set in beautiful surroundings and lovely staff!

For the price paid I’d rate this place excellent. Great location, plenty of free parking and very friendly and helpful staff. Also first class breakfast.
