The Ashley Hotel

Wifi was quite bad but other than that a great stay and grateful to have been able to make a last minute booking!

Service and restaurant was very good. Was disappointed to find the bed had not been changed from previous guest as there was human hair/ public hair throughout sheets and pillow cases had not been changed.

Our experience was awesome, clean, friendly staff,and we decided on our last night to go out to the restaurant ( the lamb shanks were amazing)
We don't dress up ,and normally we get judged / bad service BUT we were treated so well in everyway .from checking in to checking out A +++

Our room was clean and well appointed. I was a little worried as it was close to the road however the road noise was barely noticeable. The bed was very comfortable. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and found the food and service top notch. All the staff were very friendly and professional.

bathroom could do with updating,shower pressure was very weak.
Picture quality on tv could have been from a 60's tv,

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom is a little cramped

The property needs a serious make over, its dated and poorly maintained. Has not changed in 30 years.

Our 1 night stay was more than adequate, but certainly no thrills. Bathroom was a little dated and worn, but the bed was large and comfy. In room television was basic, and the wall mounted heater needs some attention. Would return, but hopefully with some renovations carried out

Excellent studio unit.

The room was spacious and very clean we were allowed early check in but the heater was not sufficient to warm the space and no heater in the bathroom made for a very uncomfortable stay we had to rug up as if we were outside

The Ashley Hotel is listed as a four star establishment but it would be lucky if it's a three star. Firstly the room they gave us first wasn't made up. Other reviews have made this same complaint. The beds are really soft and only doubles. There is not air-conditioning, there was a hole in the bathroom that had been taped over with packing tape. The towels were still damp and very thin and small. The food in the restaurant was OK at best but still very expensive (even breakfast was $35pp, we left without having that) The whole place is dinghy and in need of a total refurbishment

Children loved the pool and spa. Nice close walk to the beach

Property was OK but as I said extremely poor dining service waited 65mins for our main & another 20 min for dessert.

Not the best hotel and not the best place to stop if you’re a visitor passing through, recommend FJ or Hokitika instead.
Rooms could be cleaner and facilities desperately need a clean.

Room was much smaller than expected.
The bathroom had small mold patches.
The TV was fuzzy & missing a lot of channels and weak/no signal on others.
The bed wasnt great and could feel every move the other person made.
