The view from our room was incredible but the room itself was fairly basic. A great value for the price we paid though, and close to the beach.

The room seems to be under poor maintenance. However, the size is decent and the location is very convenient.
Everything was right. It was a pity the construction in front of the hotel but it is nothing you can do.
There was road work going on just right in front of hotel, cupboard inside the room was smelly & shower was broken so we decided to change hotel.
Rooms really outdated.
Only 1 card per room so always warm in room air conditioner is vert ordinary.

Hotel in poor physical condition. Being refurbished but I had the opportunity to see both old and new rooms (thanks to AC failure in original room). Even refurbished rooms, whilst improved, still show poor quality work. Hotel probably needs to be demolished and start over. Great views of Jomtien Beach is a plus.

Location is great everything you need is only a short walk away if not plenty of taxi or tuktuk to take you anywhere.
Downstairs and lobby is beautiful, nice clean modern but the rooms are very out dated and need to be upgraded. Rooms don’t look like pictures used to advertise. Still provided a comfortable stay but for the price you’d expect nicer room. I’d like to stay again only if the room is updated.
We booked a superior room at D Varee through Hotels.com. The photos shown for the superior room included a small kitchen, which was one of the key reasons we chose this hotel. However, upon arrival, we were given what seemed to be a standard studio room – no kitchen – even though the booking clearly stated “superior.”
In addition to the misleading room, there were several issues:
The safe did not work.
There were no bedside lamps.
The balcony was covered in bird droppings.
The neighboring balcony had a visible bird nest with multiple birds and eggs, indicating it hadn’t been cleaned or used for a long time.
We traveled with our two-year-old daughter, which made the situation even more difficult. The dirty, unhygienic balcony was completely unusable for us as a family, and we were concerned for her safety and health.
We reported the issues to the reception, but were told the hotel was fully booked and nothing could be done. After our stay, we contacted hotel management and were offered a free upgrade on a future visit. However, this is not a destination we travel to regularly, and after this experience, we are not planning to return – so that offer was of no real value to us. When we asked again for compensation for our stay, we were declined.
We then reached out to Hotels.com, who in turn contacted the hotel. Unfortunately, we were told that since the hotel didn’t approve a refund, Hotels.com could not do anything further either.
Overall, we feel overlooked and let down as customers. It’s frustrating to pay for something you don’t receive, and even more frustrating that neither the hotel nor Hotels.com takes proper responsibility in a situation like this. We’re sharing this to make other travelers aware, and to encourage better accountability going forward.
Overall the hotel is fairly nice in a great location, the hotel does need modernisation in some areas, the breakfast at the hotel was not the best but the A la Carte food is good.
If there is anything that lets the hotel down it is the bad attitude of some of the reception staff
Good but the rooms are rundown and needs renovation. Also the card key randomly stops working, i had this happen 3 times.
We had a great time; good food, great staff, beautiful views; would stay again.
