*Trapped in a hot elevator for 45 minutes, rescued by the Pittsburgh Fire Department, with NO intervention by hotel staff
*Room NOT READY at 4 PM check in - no explanation, no apology
*In room damages included broken lamp shades, pealing wall paper, broken sliding closet doors
*Only stairwell (open only to guests) filthy, with a stench that nearly made people vomit
*Unresponsive, uninterested staff, to include on-duty managers who advised "will tell the General Manager".
All this from a seasoned, and thoughtful, traveler. Like most of us, we understand situations occur, but what happened, and the lack of appropriate responses or follow up from Marriott, was/is nothing short of pathetic. Email to the CEO (after numerous phone calls, and in-person attempts at some remedies, and/or assurances that safety and filth issues, along with personal issues, would be addressed), brought at least an email, acknowledging some issues, and that a review would be done. Then a phone call from the GM, with nothing more than a few hundred dollars, and "points" for the Bonvoy account - so much for membership. Unacceptable.
What about the elevators? What about the Pittsburgh Fire Department who had to respond? What about the filthy stairwell? What about the conditions of the rooms? What about the general layout, apparently being renovated, with no signage? What about a staff that were uninterested, and drone-like - and NO ONE - NO ONE except the Pittsburgh Paramedics/Fire Department personnel there to see us off the elevator - with NO follow up from ANYONE on our condition from the hotel.
You've lost Marriott Bonvoy members, to include additional family and friends. So much more - fortunately we continue our pursuit to ensure some safe measures are brought on by outside entities at the hotel, and more. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. And seriously question any other Marriott location prior to making any reservation. A sad state of affairs, showing lack of leadership, and care.
Stay anywhere but here! There is new staff and they are completely unprofessional and disrespectful. They literally do not care about anything. They are very angry people that appear to hate their jobs.
This used to be a fantastic hotel at a great location run by a wonderful company but they have since changed hands and the new staff are absolutely some of the most miserable, disrespectful, and unprofessional people you will ever have them misfortune of encountering. Don't you dare ask them for help! They will hang up on you they will accuse you of being angry when it is they that are filled with rage. Personally I believe they hate their jobs and each other the way they act it's like a bunch of people who have never had jobs or worked around other humans before. I don't normally take the time to leave a review like this but I'm hoping to spare you the agony please read the reviews that everybody has been leaving you don't have to take my word for it everybody knows this location has gone straight downhill. The staff are absolutely HOSTILE!
Nothing. Hotel was so dirty and unsanitary. Unreal it cost 300$
Marriott should be ashamed to put their name on this hotel. It was disgusting. Anyone traveling with kids especially do not stay here. We left bright and early and only stayed because we got in so late and were all too tired to drive anywhere else with kids. Did not even stay the second night we booked.
Proximity to the event we attended.
Under renovation. The bedding needs updated. Always love Marriott accommodations, but they need to change out the mattress and pillows! Definitely wasn’t a decent night’s sleep for my wife or me!
Wallpaper was peeling off the wall and chalking around the tub was dirty and needed replaced.
Great location. Rooms are roomy,, comfortable. Breakfast was good.
The biggest problem was our group had 6 rooms reserved. We called earlier and asked to have our rooms on same floor and that we would be arriving fairly late. Upon arrival two of our group were told their rooms had been canceled. We didn’t cancel. Hotel Blamed it on 3rd party booking but we were given conflicting messaging. not enough room here to describe the fallout but it was messy.
Location
Used to be our go to in Pittsburgh but it’s starting to feel very dated. There was a strong chemical/cleaning smell in the room and hallways that never went away! It had our eyes burning
How close the stadiums were to the hotel!!
Hotel didn't smell well and the rooms needs work. And a food was not good.paid to much...
Great location and rooms, Continental breakfast
No instructions on how to operate appliances in suite, very few utensils, ice make in freezer didn't work and no ice machines
The property is located very close to PNC Park and offered affordable parking per day.
The staff was not responsive to our issues and the A/C was broken in one of our rooms for an entire day. It took multiple calls to staff over twelve hours to get it fixed, we had to sleep in 85 degrees one night because of it. One of our rooms was dirty, with broken closet doors, and the room door and bathroom door did not close without us having to shove them.
The worst hotel in the U.S. in which I have ever stayed.
The hotel was absolutely filthy. And dangerous. People were trapped in the elevator, our room door wouldn't close without jamming it shut. The furniture was covered in grease or another film. We had to place towels on the seats. Parts of the floor were wet. The bathroom had mold in multiple places Doors were missing from the closets. There was a distinctly awful odor. I contacted Marriott days ago and have not heard back.
Close to PNCPark.
Long line at check-in.
The staff could'nt have been any friendlier.
Parking is a big bonus.
Nice size room
Kitchen area was very spacious
The lobby was like an oven. Definitely needs air conditioning
Carpets in the room and hall could have been cleaner
Needs a 4 cup coffee maker. Not everyone likes to make a cup at a time
