Literie confortable. Restaurant El Ancla excellent
Hôtel de grande capacité, bruyant, pas de charme particulier, pas d’accès au spa car en travaux pendant le séjour (mais pas très accueillant cependant) privilégier une vue mer
As a lot of others have said, we were also worried what this hotel was going to be like. But we are pleasantly surprised. We’re near the end of our week’s holiday here, and have had a brilliant time. The hotel is lovely, very spacious for a smaller hotel. With lots of areas to sit , comfortably, in. Rooms are really big, we booked a suite with sea view. And the view was amazing, catching the sunrise and sunset, and just lovely sat on the large balcony listening to the waves.
All staff are amazing, and the entertainment staff, very friendly without being pushy. No queues , other than one or two people, at any if the bars , served quickly with a friendly smile. As for the food, we can not fault it. Once again lovely views from the large restaurant window. There was so much choice at every meal, which altered daily. The salad selection was amazing, and so tasty, then you had the hot food, where there was plenty of choice and was hot, on heated plates. Each night you had meat and fish cooked on live stations, always high standard. One evening I was able to have salmon three different ways!! Can’t get better than that. Breakfast was lovely too, and was varied, had delicious range of cheeses, hams, pate, bread, cereals, fruit, pastries, aswell as a choice of cooked.
If anyone can’t find something amongst this vast choice , that they like, , then there’s something wrong with them !!!!
We found the whole hotel, very clean and well kept. Ok the spa needed some attention, but still enjoyed our free two hour visit.
The Freeform pool is lovely, plenty of sunbeds, no need to reserve them. Pool bar excellent.
The hotel is right on the beach, which we did not venture to. But fun watching the surfers. The walk into the town is lovely, and has a new path all the way there, nice place to just wander around.
We will definitely be coming back here again. Come here and enjoy your stay.
We've just had two weeks here, and we're booked to return again this year. I'm really surprised at some of the negative comments on here. If you book a sea view you get the most amazing views from your balcony. It's in a quiet location and the small town with plenty of shops and restaurants is just a flat 20 minute dawdle. The staff make this hotel. From Tanya on reception to greet you, through to Ileana and Maria in the bars, the food we always find plenty to choose from and eat. We love all the various salads and freshly grilled fish and meats and zebden takes great care to ensure everything goes well. Jonathan on entertainment is a great guy who has good people skills. While staying here they reopened the entertainment bar downstairs which has been a great improvement and they've increased the opening hours of the terrace bar. The little supermarket attached to the hotel is really useful. We have enjoyed our stay and can't wait till our next visit. I agree the spa needs updating but all in all it's great value for money and the staff are amazing and are probably one of the reasons we keep returning.
This is a quiet holiday, off the beaten track , overlooking a lovely sandy beach. We're just beck from staying here All Inclusive for two weeks. The staff are absolutely lovely. Especially Jonathan and Miguel, complimenting each other with the entertainment. The perfect balance of friendliness without being pushy. We had great fun with them. Ileana by the pool bar is amazing and Maria in the upstairs bar is special.
The small local town is a nice fifteen minute walk and welll worth visiting.
If you want to party, bars and busy nightlife, this is not the hotel for you.
The hotel could do with some updating, therefore dropped a star. It didn't really bother us though, I'm just being honest.
The location of the hotel is lovely with fantastic views, we had a sea view and it's right next to the beach and a short walk to El Medano, a lovely town with good restaurants. We recommend Hong Kong and Platano! Give them a go.. I reiterate the staff work very hard indeed .the food is decent do not listen to the horrible odd negative nellies! It is very good value for money..it's not 5 star no but it's a nice place...a holiday is what you make it and before I forget to say the pool is lovely and heated!!!
Honestly had a lovely time at this hotel the staff where amazing and it was very clean. We had a suite and it was very spacious especially the balcony .
Yes the spa could do with updating but I am so confused by previous bad reviews. To the team at Arenas Del Mar well done , will be back, thank you
Great week in the sun - just what the doctor ordered after weeks of winter rain and cold in the UK. We were somewhat worried when we read some of the reviews beforehand, but no need to worry. Excellent hotel, great location and food and service were all excellent. We’ve stayed at much worse all inclusive hotels and paid much more. We booked a junior suite with ocean view and it was well worth it to see the sunsets from your balcony, drink in hand. The hotel is well positioned with a nice beach right next door. The sea is clean and safe and 18-20 degrees even in January. If you don’t fancy the beach the pool is even warmer at 29 degrees. Plenty of loungers although they could do with a few more sun umbrellas. We are not ones to put towels on loungers and reserve umbrellas at 8am - unfortunately there are plenty who do. When we came down mid morning we could always get a lounger, but the umbrellas were a bit scarce. Food was varied and good quality. Plenty of choice with different themed nights. All in all we were very pleased with our week away and would definitely come back at some point.
Reading some of the reviews before I went, made me a little wary of certain things. After my holiday I can say they’re mostly rubbish!
This hotel is tucked out of the way with INCREDIBLE views. The public areas are clean, comfortable and smell fresh.
The pool area is immaculate and overlooked by an amazing security/lifeguard.
The food is buffet, but there’s so much choice and I was rarely disappointed with the food. Yes sometimes it’s not piping hot, but it was never cold. The drinks are also nothing to complain about.
The staff at this hotel are absolutely incredible! Reception, housekeeping, restaurant, bar and entertainment. Ileana, Claudia and Maria are angels. Jonathan and Miguel are an amazing animacion double act! They got me involved with all the events and made my holiday so much fun. The staff work so hard and always with a smile. A credit to KN Hoteles.
I didn’t make use of the spa facilities so I can’t comment.
Yes the entertainment/noise can carry up the central atrium, but it is over at 11pm.
I have already booked my next trip to Arena Del Mar and cannot wait!
After reading the reviews my expectations were fairly low therefore I wasn't dissapointed!
Pool was lovely and warm, there were some annoying sunbed hoggers claiming beds at 8.30am and keeping belongings on them all day but I always found a spot. Area clean and tidy. You can only change your towel every 2 days which was a bit tight. Spa is extra but they give you one voucher on arrival, it was a bit rough round the edges, I definitely wouldn't pay for the experience. The gym was awful which was a bit annoying as this is something I wanted to make good use of.
I had a sea view junior apartment, the view was great and the apartment spacious. It wasn't very comfortable though, bed very hard, just a sheet and blanket and one pillow. Sofa was rock hard too and not comfy. TV didn't receive any of the UK channels.
My biggest gripe was the smoking situation. Someone next to me was smoking constantly on the balcony which wasn't pleasant, my whole room stunk! There are no non smoking rooms available in this hotel.
I just had breakfast included which was great. Loads of choice and all very good.
I went out most days so didn't spend all my time here. If you are able then the walk past El Medano up the volcano and beyond is a must.
Entertainment at night was loud but didn't run past midnight. If you do want early nights ask for a high floor.
I think if I had paid top whack and wanted to spend all my time here on an all inclusive basis I'd have been quite dissapointed. As it was the staff were good, the sun was shining in Febuary and I had a pool to swim in so I was happy.
This was a good hotel, not the most attractive on the outside but really lovely inside. Very clean and spacious with some lovely sea views. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The buffet style food is plentiful with a good choice but not my favourite style of eating as the noise of plates moving and cutlery crashing impacts my experience, I’m sure others find it ok. Nice 20 min walk into local town where there are plenty of shops and restaurants
We stayed here for three nights and I was a little hesitant about what we would find having read sone pretty poor reviews. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff on check in were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was superb and huge. The food in the restaurant for all meals were good. I'm not sure what people expect of a large hotel offering all inclusive but this was varied and tasty. The bar areas were well staffed and efficient. The choice of drinks very good. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was very good. We were surprised by management with a bottle of fizz in our room for my birthday which was a very nice touch. Sadly we didn't have time to drink it so left it behind but it was appreciated. The pool area was clean and had plenty of sun beds and the pool bar was efficient. All in all it is a good value hotel and we will definitely return.
Booked it as a 4star ,however I believe it's now been downgraded to a 3star and I can understand why!
First complaint is the cleaning, just not enough staff to keep it clean cutlery, plates, cups and especially glasses really need attention we had to wipe everything before using it's like they've been through the dishwasher and put straight out. Again short staffed so tables were left not wiped down most of the time there was just 2 on to cover everything including when people wanted wine list
Lack of glasses and cups is a big problem during mealtimes and I'd say it was only at 60% capacity. Food was good plenty of choice obviously recycle some things into stews etc but no complaints, there was always something to choose from plus they have some theme nights chinese and mexican
No snacks to be had between breakfast and lunch or between lunch and dinner just leftover pastries from breakfast around 3pm at the pool bar. You have to Pay extra for bar snacks such as crisps ice cream, slushies really not much for your all inclusive money.
Rooms are decent enough except for the noise from the nightly entertainment which can be heard in every room as its situated right in the middle on the ground floor.
The tv's are smart tv's but don't work as such( we asked ) so you can't log into your own netflix/prime etc bit stupid installing them . You can connect it via mirror screen app
So the spa ! Main reason we chose this hotel was because it had a spa. Absolutely disgusting there's paint peeling off the ceiling above the grotty pool and every now snd then a bit drops off, the waterfall taps dont work, tiles missing , very dangerous loose and rusted handrails. The steamroom hasn't been cleaned properly for months its vile ! and the sauna you can't use its rotten full of splintered timber I cant describe how bad it is . Needs ripping out and replacing the spa is not fit for purpose plus they have the cheek to charge you 15€ to use it . The massage we had was 60€ each and very average my wifes was good .
Plenty of sunbeds to choose from around the pool however the disabled ones have prime location and strictly policed by the lifeguard no issues with people putting towels down.
The entertainment guys one was OK Jonathan but Miguel had the most annoying put on squeaky voice which he constantly shouted no escaping that fella. "Let's go " is all you can hear all afternoon
Hotel itself isn't the most attractive from the outside but location is quiet and a nice 10 min walk into the little town.
Overall very disappointed and a now 3 star hotel with 2star cleanliness and a spa that needs a total refurbishment when we paid for 4star hotel and spa
This hotel desperately requires some TLC.
On the positive, the rooms are big, views amazing and staff are wonderful. Food was plentiful, you always find something yummy, not all cooked to same standard.
On the negative, furniture is old and damaged, dirty looking even with the best effort of the cleaning team. Spa should be condemned until refurbished, pool was dirty, paint hanging in strips overhead, hand rails all loose, foost (mould) evedent throughout, sauna covered in wood shavings, steam room dirty, even the key was on an old hair band and we got to pay €30 for the pleasure of 2 hours, we lasted 20mins.
The noise of the entertainment is cleared audible in the room, take ear plugs if you go to bed before midnight.
The staff are holding it all together and should be praised for their efforts.
This was our 7th annual consecutive stay at this hotel. As always we found the staff to be really friendly and helpful . Our rooms were cleaned every day and we love the gorgeous sea view. Food and drinks were really good ,always a great choice , seafood, meat dishes and lots of fish. The entertainment guys were excellent , great effort to include everyone and so funny. Evening entertainment suited us just fine in particular we enjoyed the vocalist ( i did read a very rude comment about him being rubbish ) he really wasnt , we loved him . Maria at the bar is always lovely and the pool guy is very diligent in his work and very helpful !!. All in all another fab hol and cant wait to return
Definitely not 4* hotel.
Food on an evening not great all, infact terrible, our last meal was cold chips cold plain pasta and plain cold rice.
Food stated it was on till 9.30pm. Staff must not got that memo as they where removing Food and condiments away as we went to server our self Food at 9pm and this happened 3 times in our 7night stay.
Bar staff in hotel bar on evening more interested being on there phone than serving guest.
Bar closes at 11pm sharp.
Animation Team made the hotel.
