Very friendly attentive staff. Food was delicious. Hotel was impeccable.
Little bit further from the town than Google maps says it is.
That it was next to the beach
The food
I had big hopes for this solo get away, unfortunately I left disappointed. The staff were lovely, pleasant and helpful however the food was absolutely awful and the bar lacked options limiting you to a choice of around 6 cocktails anything else deviating from this list was an extra charge. I was also charged a “deposit” of one euro for a cup to be used at the pool. The room and bathroom was also very poor and the first night I barely slept because of the scent of vape or cigarettes. I was offered a room change the next day but definitely not the best use of my money. I would not go back here and I would not recommend it
Lovely, friendly hotel. The staff make it special, especially Tiego and his Bingo Bongo nights.
The spa is old and basic. The spa treatments were great- hot stones massage and a facial were very good.
The pool is heated salt water so very welcoming. The Aqua gym was fun.
Sadly all entertainment is ending on May 1st.
The food was tasty and there was something fresh on the griddle every day.
Transfer short 20 mins. Reception staff lovely. Room 8 out of 10 needs updating. Good points large and bed comfy. Lovely views. Drinks ok. Food not so good. Undercooked salmon and meat on the grill and very repetitive. Miserable chefsand. Waiting staff lovely. Pool area nice, spa needs updating. Very quite but that was what I wanted. Beach on doorstep. Lifts a bit hit and miss. 3 star not 4. Animation team apparatley no longer after this week.
My experience at this hotel was quite disappointing. Starting with the cleanliness, which was very poor, and the food, which generally lacked quality and flavor.
That said, not everything was negative. I would like to highlight the excellent service from the receptionist Ariadna, the bar staff member Marlens, and the animator Tiago, who were always friendly, attentive, and truly made a difference during my stay.
On the other hand, I had an unprofessional experience with the pool bar staff member, Lilian, who at one point was taking a phone call while serving customers, which I found inappropriate.
Overall, I feel that the hotel promises much more on its website than it actually delivers. Unfortunately, I leave quite dissatisfied with my stay.
The location of the hotel is excellent for windsurfers and water sports enthusiasts, thanks to the consistent wind conditions. The nearest resort, Medana, is approximately a 10–15 minute walk away. On a warm day, this is a pleasant stroll; however, in colder, windier conditions it can feel less enjoyable.
Medana offers a good selection of bars and restaurants, providing plenty of choice for eating and drinking. In addition, there are three small bars/bistros/pizzerias directly across the road from the hotel, which we enjoyed visiting for a drink outside of the hotel. One point to note is that it becomes very dark in the evening, and there is no street lighting along the main road between the hotel and Medana, so it is advisable to take a phone or torch.
The hotel itself has a lovely atmosphere, and all staff were friendly and polite. In particular, Maria in the bar and the new bartender were especially welcoming—thank you for making us feel so comfortable.
The food is typical of an all-inclusive hotel, with a wide variety available to suit most tastes. As non–fish and non–pork eaters, there were a couple of evenings where the options were limited for us; however, there are plenty of local restaurants nearby, so this was not an issue and is simply a personal preference rather than a criticism of the hotel.
The rooms are a good size, larger than average, but we were slightly disappointed with the condition of the walls, which had noticeable marks and would benefit from repainting. A fresh coat of paint would make a significant difference and enhance the overall feel of the rooms.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness of our room was not consistent, as it was only cleaned twice during our week-long stay, although towels were changed daily. As we are generally tidy, this was manageable, but the floor did become slippery at times due to sunscreen, and more regular cleaning would have been appreciated. Aside from this, the hotel was generally clean, although the gym could benefit from a more thorough clean.
The lifts may be an issue for some guests, as only one was operational for most of our stay, and both were out of service on our final day.
The pool is not particularly large, but it is heated and very pleasant to use. Entertainment is available but not intrusive, which we appreciated. The hotel can be a little noisier on Friday and Saturday evenings, though it does quieten down by midnight.
If possible, I would recommend requesting a pool or sea view room, as the mountain view rooms can be quite dark.
Overall, the cost was average for what was offered. While we have stayed in some 4-star hotels of a slightly higher standard, this should not deter others, as the hotel still provides a good experience with a welcoming atmosphere.
We had a nice stay. Due to the time of year it was quiet. Access straight on to the beach.
There was a good variety of food. We were All Inclusive but in all honesty it probably wasn’t worth it. The cocktails were awful, not due to the local alcohol but the cheap watered down “juice” they use is so sweet, it’s like syrup so we couldn’t drink them. Only the meals were included and I believe there were some small baguettes and toasties on offer for snacks - sadly the ice creams were chargeable.
The room has a mini fridge with 2 bottles of water on arrival but not a minibar as advertised and the water is not replenished.
The room was clean and tidy and a good size - if you get the option ask for a pool/sea view rather than a Mountain View.
Staff were friendly enough.
Be prepared for the wind - it is pretty relentless.
All in all it’s fine if you know what to expect.
Los empleados en general muy atentos.
Un lugar con muchisimo viento desagradable para estar en la piscina y para pasear por los alrededores.
Great adults only hotel, 15-20 minute walk from El Medano centre. We had a sea & pool view room which was spacious with a fantastic view of Montana Roja and the beach at the side. We went in March, which was quieter (suited us!) can be windy around the pool area but is easily sorted by choosing the right spot. Food was great, varied menu & the dining area is very peaceful with huge windows looking out to sea / the beach. All the staff we met were very helpful and chatty, especially the pool bar area! We like walking so great base for walking across town to Montana Roja - the view is amazing from the top. Also good spot to walk across the beaches to Montana Amarilla and Las Galletas.
The animator Tiago was amazing with me and my husband from the beginning which made our vacations even more special, thank you ❤️
I had an absolutely great stay at KN Arenas del Mar and would highly recommend it.
The massage and spa experience was amazing—truly relaxing and one of the highlights of the trip. The entertainment team also deserves special recognition, especially Tiago and Daniel, who were outstanding and made the stay even more enjoyable with their energy and friendliness.
The food was great with plenty of choice, so there was always something to suit everyone. On top of that, all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really made a difference.
Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish.
Fabulous location! Off the plane and already had a drink at the bar within the hour!
Service was good. Food is fine considering it’s produced for such large numbers.
Drink portions were pretty decent, some staff more generous than others.
Planes flying over are not disruptive. The wind can be pretty strong when sunbathing, but choosing your sunbed carefully should eliminate this.
Pool is salt water which is different and not unpleasant.
Lovely quiet beach.
View from sea view rooms is phenomenal…sunrise/sunset/daytime!!
Not noisy from bars
Easy stroll to the town where there are gift shops, bars and restaurants.
Only there three nights, but it was wonderful for what we wanted.
Has definitely seen better days. We were there in March 25 during Storm Therese and while bad weather can't be helped I at least expect the hotel to be water tight....how wrong could we be. The food, although lots of it, was all overcooked and very repetitive. The staff however were all lovely. I can't praise Tiago in entertainment enough, he genuinely saved our holiday. Overall, I would not recommend, this hotel needs some serious investment.
The ladies at reception went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. I think the receptionist her name was Tania or Tatiana, she was amazing and provided a complimentary late check out inclusive of lunch and a complimentary taxi returning to the airport in the day of our departure to make up for the downside of our stay There is a spacious, bright and airy lobby and foodhall. Pool and sunbed area was very well maintained. Our bedroom suite was a very good size and comfortable. Also loved the sea view from the foodhall.
The lifts were out of order 5days out of seven, quite an inconvenience given the large scale of the property and we were on the 5th floor. Some of the waiting staff in the foodhall were exceptionally rude and embarrassed guests on a number of occasions,, myself included. We were guests during storm Therese and there was very heavy rainfall, not the hotels fault but our room was flooded for 3 consecutive nights as the water seemed to be seeping through the exterior walls, we had to put all of our towels onto the floor to mop up the flood water and had to wait forr clean ones to be brought every morning before we could shower. Also the windows in the bedroom and living area were broken so we couldn't open our windows for a few days until they were fixed. The spa albeit a independent business, a number of their facilities were not working, the young staff however were lovely.and couldn't do enough, the owner is very lucky yo have them.
My second visit. I'm glad I went back. Although at the time of booking jet2 still rated the place 4 star, by the time I arrived it had dropped to 3 star plus. I cannot see any deterioration in the accommodation, facilities, staff or catering since I last visited in 2024, I understand the change in rating is due to a shift in criteria.
You can eat really well here. I don't think I saw much repetition in the hot meals, save for one or two items. I would rate the food highly, I can't say I'm an experienced tourist traveller, but over my career I have stayed in a lot of business hotels, I would much rather have the food here, I don't understand folk who complain about it in these reviews, or credit their claims of having better experiences elsehwere, I do wish they would name these magical places.
At this price point, I really can't fault this hotel, my room was well cleaned every day, towels replaced as necessary and I found all the staff very amenable. If I had a gripe, I would happily wait for the AI bar offer to start at 11am, rather than 10am, if it meant it continued until midnight when the bars all closed, rather than paying for drinks for an hour at the end of the day (but at around £3 a pint, it's a minor quibble).
There are facilities that I didn't take advantage of, such as the spa, but I certainly didn't hear any other patrons complaining about such things.
There is a terrfic restaurant underneath the hotel, and I fully recommend a visit during your stay.
I sure don't rule out a third visit in the future.
We had 10 nights at this hotel . About a mile walk to the centre of the resort .We walked it most days an easy walk along good pavements and flat .Sea on one side and a quiet road on the other side . Plenty of people watching wave watching on reaching the town and the dare devils on kite boards and wind surfing. Yes the area is very windy but that is why world championships of kite surfing and wind surfing take place here . The hotel had many nationalities which is great we met some great guests enjoying many games of chess and cards . This is an adults only hotel and we took the all inclusive option. We were not disappointed by the food or the drink options .I enjoyed the cocktail called Honeymoon. Staff very friendly and happy to chat when they had the time .Room was serviced efficiently we never saw the housekeeping staff .Bed remade every day bathroom cleaned .When asked for another pillow no problem delivered to the room . If you want a quiet holiday away from the hustle of other resorts where you have to dodge the invalid scooters and pick pockets try here .
My fiance and I have just returned from a short break here and no complaints from us.
We were very kindly upgraded to a beautiful sea view room, a joy up wake up to! Room was lovely and clean with comfy beds. The shower was nice but it leaked all over the bathroom. Tea/coffee facilities are always welcome! Air con didn’t always work but we slept with the doors open. Bliss!
We upgraded to all inclusive whilst we were there (36€ per person, per night) as there are very limited bars/restaurants in the immediate area. This made things easier to get food and drink and we were happy with the selection available.
We enjoyed the food, good choice and always hot. I agree with the previous review that the juices weren’t great and the cups were small. Breakfast was lovely too. Drinks were nice too, no small measures.
Location - it’s 1.5km walk from El Medano, there’s literally nothing else around the hotel. Uber was quoting 30€ to get into El Medano.
We found 2 restaurants over the road (next to the hyrox gym) which were very busy and full of locals, would recommend trying here if you want a break from hotel food. About a 5 min walk.
We used the hotel gym - it’s basic but had what we needed for a workout. Loads of sun loungers round the pool and no issues getting a bed. The pool was so nice and warm! We didn’t use the spa facilities.
We didn’t bother with the entertainment, we preferred sitting upstairs near the piano area as it was nice and relaxing. Monday evening had a fantastic saxophonist, loved him!
It is more geared up to older guests but this didn’t bother us. We missed the hype with the film crew but had been told about people (staff unfortunately) doing drugs and we often smelt weed which isn’t ideal. The lift was broken for a few days but the hotel let some of the elders use the staff lift so they still had access to the other floors and facilities - this seemed to be dependent on which staff member was monitoring it!
All in all, we’d stay here again. We’re not bothered about walking so wandering into El Medano was ok for us.
If you’re looking for British bars/restaurants, this place is not for you. But if you’re wanting relaxation and to get away from it all, the hotel is ideal.
