Great food, could be absolute gem of a holiday with some TLC.
Pros:

Breakfast and donner were first rate! Really great food and value. Highly recommend eating here!

Cons:

Rooms needed more cleaning and didn't smell fresh. The venue in general needs TLC, decking needs to be washed, gardening done, tables cleaned, smoking trays emptied. The marquee needs better heating & cleaning as it smells musky.

Nice room, food needs some work
Pros:

Suite - really lovely room but would have requested ground floor if we had known there were stairs. Good bathroom, underfloor heating.

Cons:

First night we enjoyed a nice meal so we booked for the sunday night at the hotel, which was a roast. Young lady took our room details and personal details (phone number and email).
About 3.50 am the fire alarm went off making us panic, but when we checked nothing was going on, so went back to bed. Just got off to sleep 4.50am, fire alarm went off again. Again nobody around. We spoke to reception the next morning, who apologised but said there was a problem in the cellar. Engineer called in.
So When we turned up for our booking 6pm sunday evening we were told "sorry we've run out of roast, but you can pick off the ordinary menu". We said ok. However two items from that menu were not available. The response was "we've been really busy". Even though they had our details nobody bothered to contact us to tell us. As my husband had enjoyed his saturday meal we both went for it again. Big mistake as this dish was not the same as the previous. It was crispy chilli chicken with noodles, however they had obviously used up vegetables from sundat lunch as there was peas and broccoli and swamped in sweet chilli sauce, so much so that we couldn't finish the meal and had to order more drink because of burning mouths. We did inform the waitress. The dish the previous night had peppers and onions no peas or broccoli. As we were so tired went to bed.
Monday morning down to breakfast as really hungry as couldn't finish dinner. "Sorry no gas, you can only have pancakes or scrambled eggs on toast", this was becoming a laughing matter. We had paid for breakfast but only two options available, we were not asked if any special dietary needs were required. It's just this or this.
My husband has put a complaint to the hotel, but has received no response from them.

Pros:

Bed was comfy

Cons:

Male member of staff, on arrival was not very welcoming, or helpful. Place could use some cleaning and upgrading. The lighting on the dark path wasn't working so was very hazardous. Kettle needed descaling.windows were dirty on inside as well as outside.

Lovely stay away
Pros:

Nice large suite. Underfloor heating was a bonus. Room made up each day. Friendly staff.

Cons:

Guest staying opposite was loud (although that’s no fault of the hotel). Shower was broken so that it didn’t stay in a decent position, I had to improvise with a tube of shower gel to keep the correct position.
