Loved the homely, comfortable feeling of the hotel.
Super location with some lovely old buildings.
Easy to get to.
Slightly tired decor, but very clean.
Great location, really cosy reception and great food.
Super clean and comfy ! Super accommodating to dogs aswell :) excellent room and facilities, and the staff were very welcoming!
Can’t take the dog for breakfast , so either need to go separately or leave the dog in the car as they can’t be left in the room, but it really isn’t that back a deal
Impressive!! Personale simpatico, ma non eravamo in vena.
Very close to the events I was attending
Hotel is absolutely beautiful, lovely staff. The food is outstanding, quality ingredients and very tasty. Breakfast was stunning. Views all around are lovely, room very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and always looking to help. Can't wait to come back again!
Only slight complaint we had was the size of the tv and lack of channels. I appreciate most folk coming to this beautiful place don't need a tv but when the weather is bad it's good to maybe watch something. Even a small smart tv so folk can connect to it if needed. It is a very small complaint though, everything was perfect.
Very welcoming either way open fires and very helpful staff.
A little bit dated
Magnifique hotel. Petite chambre adorable. Repas délicieux.
Breakfast was amazing and served so nice.location was great my stay was only one night stopping off on way from Orkney to Newcastle

A very friendly cosy Hotel with real coal fires in the dining hall and lobby.... you can just sit there for hours. The staff are so helpful and nice. We loved the decor, the tartan, and the hall where you have breakfast is so grand you feel like you're in a castle. The rooms are really nice and comfy, so unique. Also the Bothy Bar is the best for evening meals and drinks! Great staff very attentive. My favourite hotel.
