Very welcoming, cosy & lovely staff
Went out their way to accommodate our dog at breakfast by setting up a table in a dog area.
Let us move room to a bigger room on the 2nd night.
Position and staff
Outdated decor in the bedroom, limited menu choices
Every thing good location quite
The authentic traditional Scottish surroundings…the warm welcome…the real working, lounge and dining room fireplaces. The wonderful scale of the public spaces and the peace and quiet of the glorious location.
Some of the room furniture was a bit too shiny for my taste…but I’m being “picky”…
Great location
Maybe upgrade
Iwas not told on booking, com that l had to pay extra for dogs
Good location, pleasant staff, warm bar area with open fires
Good breakfast, comfortable room and bathroom
Walls are very thin, so it could be noisy at night
Breakfast was good, bar was nice, great location and staff were great. Nice relaxing space with roaring fires which was a great touch.
Booked a double room - the bed was two singles put together - didn't realise until we were in it...not the most comfortable for two people after a day walking
Staff were excellent and very friendly. It's an old building with lots of character and sitting in front of the open fires with a glass of wine is very relaxing. The cleaners do a great job and keep the hotel spotless.
Unfortunately, the food let the hotel down a bit. The kipper served at breakfast was well overdone, although the scrambled eggs were lovely. I mentioned this to a staff member who knocked £5 off my bill.
