Always a warm comfortable stay
Cheap for the quality
It takes so long to get the room bond refunded
Although we were in the older section, the room was really well appointed with convenient parking outside. Not too far to get anywhere in Nelson by car and close to the hospital if needed.
Very warm for winter and comfortable.
Room was clean, easy to book via booking.com and didn't have to pay for car parking
Unfortunately window latch was broken so couldn't be closed so room was extremely cold and drafty and we had a young baby who was meant to be having a hospital admission early in morning which was the reason we stayed but unfortunately she developed a cough overnight so procedure had to be cancelled. It was a late evening check in so couldn't speak with staff and there was a barbed wire fence so we were unable to push the window closed from the outside. The hotel itself has good facilities and room was clean and had no issues on a previous stay.

Excellent accomodation, my Nelson choice of stays. Great friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds and clean spacious rooms. Very good on site restaurant and bar.
Bed was comfortable. Room was cleaned everyday on request. Kitchen was a perfect size for us.
Flames on 40 Restaurant and Bar was awesome! It was so good we dined there 2 nights of our stay. The food, the staff and ambience were fantastic!!
The rooms although tidy enough, were poorly maintained. The shower didn’t work properly. There were pretty good sized scuff marks/scratches on the paintwork in the room, particularly in the bathroom. I think what bothered us most was the paper thin walls. We could hear the person in the next room quite clearly.
My daughter in law charged her phone in their room and when we got back from our day out, her phone charger was missing. We all looked in the van we were travelling in, our rooms, their suitcases and we couldn’t find it. She has been told by the Hotel that they aren’t prepared to do anything about it. It’s going to cost her $80 to replace it. Pretty disappointed Hotel Nelson.
