I really liked the hotel. The location was great, the staff was polite and helpful, and the pool area was very nice with comfortably warm water. The rooms were clean and the towels fresh. Overall, I had a good experience.

Cons:

The first time I stayed, I had to ask for my room to be cleaned even though the cleaning tag was on, and they didn’t vacuum the floor. The second time, they cleaned but still didn’t vacuum. Also, I have some difficulty sleeping, and the small streets in the hotel leading to the pool and reception are very bright. The curtains don’t block enough light, so it can be hard to sleep for light-sensitive people.

Kamers waren oud en sfeerloos.
Het zitje buiten was in een soort steeg van ca. Meter en je keek tegen een soort schutting aan.

Cons:

Asked for disability unit, didn't get one. Parking SUV to small and not beside unit. Fridge too close to access door.
Bathroom window opened to see into restraurant. Smokers ashtray beside gas bottles H&S issue. Flag pole clips rattle on pole, Not tied down tight

A bit of traffic noise on Monday morning woke us up. ( our room was near the road)
Foam squabs on the sun loungers by the pool would have made my afternoons by the pool more comfortable

No real problems but I won't be returning.
Pros:

Room clean, bed comfortable, shower good. Restaurant staff pleasant.

Cons:

I was there for 10 days. There was confusion over breakfast times. The first Sunday, I was turned away at 7am and told individual guests were not permitted till 7:30. The breakfast vouchers stated weekend start times were 7am. I think greater care could have been made in informing guests about variation in start times and whether buffet is happening or not (it seems only when tour groups are there). A written notice on the reception desk about Waitangi Day is not guaranteed to reach every guest. It is classed as a four-star hotel but the tired and beaten decor makes it feel more like a motel, without kitchen facilities. No lifts in the two-story sections made it difficult for elderly guests and luggage. Or was there a lift I didn't know about? At checkout, I was not asked anything - there was no interest in how my stay had been. These are minor quibbles, but you did ask.

A very pleasant base from which to explore Nelson and the national parks
Pros:

Pool was great. Nice to have the balcony to sit out on too.

Pros:

The staff were friendly

Cons:

This place is called a Hotel, and is advertised as such. It is definitely a Motel.
Breakfast was via vouchers.,with a limited value, Not a hotel buffet.
Originally had 1 window with a view of a fence
Moved to a 2nd floor room with pool view, that was much better, but no longer had a spa bath.
Overall, lovely people, but definitely over priced motel, pretending to be a hotel.
