Absolutely awful experience – this hotel completely ruined our holiday.

We booked a 4-day stay at Be Live Hotel Tenerife and ended up leaving after the first night because the conditions were so bad. The room had a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom which made it extremely unpleasant to stay in. The room was also freezing cold with no heating and only one thin blanket provided for two people.

The beds were incredibly uncomfortable and we barely slept at all. The room looked very poorly maintained, with visible stains on the curtains and marks on the walls which made the whole place feel dirty and neglected.

To make matters worse, the lift was not working while we were placed on the 9th floor, which made getting to and from the room very difficult.

The buffet food was also extremely disappointing – often cold and very poor quality. When we tried to raise the issues with staff, communication was very difficult and nothing was properly resolved.

We reported the problems to reception and also contacted our travel provider during our stay, but no effective solution was offered. In the end we had no choice but to leave the hotel and pay more out of our own pocket for alternative accommodation just to salvage the rest of our holiday.

This situation meant that we lost half of our short trip dealing with stress, phone calls and trying to find another place to stay.

Overall this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience and I would strongly advise others to think carefully before booking here.

I have also formally raised this issue with the travel provider and will escalate the complaint through independent dispute resolution if a fair outcome is not reached. I will update this review once the matter has been resolved.

A good value no-frills hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. A minor issue with pillows was quickly resolved. An unexpected greetings card and plate of fancy cakes was delivered to our room on my wife’s birthday. Buffet meals extensive and a little quirky - (e.g. brussels sprouts at breakfast!). Within walking distance of the historic centre of the resort as well as Playa Jardin, Loro Parque and Punta Brava. We will return.

Service is very good like every year but food has gone worse... only deserts still are very good... theme dinnernight and omelet in breakfast back!

Firstly may I begin by saying the hotel name is extremely deceptive considering the hotel played no background music anywhere throughout our stay.
The entertainment was shocking, even though the guy did his utmost to provide suitable entertainment.
This hotel is for “adults of retirement age”
Do not be fooled; it is lovely, but needs an update; we at no point during our stay felt like we were living, if it wasn't for the sunshine it wouldn't have even felt like a holiday!! Spent 5 days bored out of our brains!
The all-inclusive menu was less than poor … The same meal every single day … same snotty/overcooked eggs for breakfast … the dried-up meat /fish accompanied by a mismatch of side servings & salad.
We had to start paying to eat out and searching outside our hotel for the holiday experience you’d expect to get from your package deal.
Rooms were clean enough but the beds are very uncomfortable and you'll get one pillow with zero wadding to contend with. Had about 7 hours of sleep in 5 days due to the discomfort.
We asked at the desk several times for extra pillows but we never got any!
I guess if you’re looking for a vacation where you lie on your lounger and sit in silence watching the time fly by, this is the hotel for you :)
DEFINITELY NOT for YOUNG ADULTS or anyone coming away for any enjoyable ATMOSPHERE or FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you're looking to top up tan in a bikini this is also not the place for you! Long-sleeve tops and full-length trousers are the more respectable attire, unless you want the disgraceful stares and indirect comments.
Playa del la cruise is 2/3 hours outside any watersports or atmosphere, although it was carnival week which was a pleasant saviour.
Loro Parque is literally a stone's throw away which was amazing!!!
The beach is that of black sand and not very photogenic, the sea is also rough.
The area is very hilly and on the cooler side of the island.

Not much of a positive review but a heads up for anyone below the age of 55 who is considering a holiday at this hotel or north of the island :)

I stayed at this hotel from 21-28 januar, and it was an absolute nightmare. The room was covered in mould and extremely dirty – I had to sanitize everything myself upon arrival. When the room was supposedly cleaned one day, the disinfectant wipes turned yellow after cleaning the toilet seat, showing they were using dirty equipment.

The mould caused a serious allergic reaction, affecting my health. The hotel and Lastminute refused to acknowledge the problem, despite my complaints, and I have seen similar reports from other guests.

The location is poor if you want sun – it was constantly cloudy. The hotel falsely advertises as 4 stars; it is closer to a hostel in terms of quality. Maintenance was a joke: a worker came one evening for a leak from the bathroom to the floor below, spent 2 minutes caulking, and considered the problem “fixed.”

I was offered a room upgrade with sea view for an extra €10 per night, but all rooms were equally disgusting. I refused to pay more for this absurdity.

The food was awful: cold, flavorless, with limited variety, and the hygiene was questionable – people coughing and touching food. I barely went to the restaurant.

Overall, this hotel is filthy, unsafe, and unhealthy. I felt gross and uncomfortable the entire stay. I will never return and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone

Great location, atmosphere from the 80-ies (which I really liked) , fair value for money, excellent service, kind staff, very tasty food. Would love to visit again.

Hotel very outdated. Floor tiles in reception/lobby broken .
Food is same every day very slightly a change, boring and i was only half board. Missed few breakfasts and dinners as could'nt face same boring selection.
Staff very friendly drinks cheap for hotel prices.
Evening entainment very poor, repectative just like the food. Only on a weekly rota so same thing each night as week before. Deffo not the choice for solo traveller as mainly foreign groups so nobody speaks to you.
Weather also naff very many just cloudy days , or bits of sun and clouds.
I won't return here

Nice hotel .nice and close for town amd beach...overall a good place ..food was standard fare. .ok.but as we were bnb..ate out often...breakfast was good. Evening meals std but edible .
No complaints. ..would stay again..
