La Breche

The overall property is nice. It’s located approximately 15 minutes by foot to the town center. The big downside for us was the fact that WiFi was not working with any Apple devices. Being able to connect to WiFi is crucial these days and I hope the management can fix this problem for other incoming guests.

Although they advertise having air conditioning, it is only turned on part of the year. Individual room AC units were locked and not accessible to guests. When we asked about using the air conditioning, we were told to open the window and turn off the light so as not to attract the bugs! We arrived on a warm spring day, and would have appreciated the ability to cool the room off a bit as it got quite stuffy at night, even with the windows open. Open windows also meant flies inside the room. Beds were comfortable, and location is a 15 min walk to town.

This property has pretty grounds that were well maintained. Unfortunately the rooms were in need of updating. The beds were a hard foam mattress, there was mold on the bathroom walls. The doors to the room had a key lock that had to be locked from the inside making it a major safety hazard. No smoke detectors in room. Disappointing was that although there was an individual air conditioner unit and control, it was locked so it couldn’t be turned on. When I inquired with the manager, she said no, otherwise they would have to offer it to everyone, that it was turned on until summer. We were here on a warm May Day in a third floor room. She was very condescending and stated “open the window.” She seemed annoyed by us and didn’t want to help. A portable fan was finally put in our room after I asked if they had one. But again, it was not offered, and clear she didn’t really care. I might ad that the listing on Expedia as well as other sites states they have air conditioning. I would not stay here again or recommend it.

Comfortable room, if a little small. The shower was quite snug and not very easy to get in and out of. An anti-slip mat would have been useful.
All very clean and the air-conditioning was much appreciated. Service was excellent with friendly knowledgeable staff.
Safe on-site parking, and considering we were very close to the middle of town, everywhere was quiet!

Nous sommes revenus, mon amie et moi, à l'hôtel de La Brèche, avec grand plaisir. Nous avons, comme la première fois, eu la chance de pouvoir dîner dans le jardin . La cuisine du chef était tout simplement excellente. Que des produits frais. L'accueil toujours aussi agréable, et le personnel à l'écoute. Bref, que du positif. U grand merci à toute l'équipe.

Bon accueil, propre, très bonne litterie...(nous avons fait le trour du cadran !!!) et très bonne situation avec vue sur le chateau pendant la dizaine de minutes pour y accéder à pied. WE sans voiture pour nous car très proche de la gare. Je recommande

Accueil agréa et convivial. Chambre de dimension correcte, bonne literie, et très propre. Petit déjeuner excellent, produits locaux ou fait maison

Excellent établissement à refaire sans hésitation

L'hôtel est agréable avec un parking. Le restaurant est excellent. Un peu de marche pour le château et le Clos Lucé, rien de bien fatiguant. Une belle adresse à Amboise.

Delightful hotel full of character with very helpful staff.

Staff really friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent; a full buffet which you could choose from but it was brought to your table to comply with social distancing rules.
We ate outside in the lovely outdoor area.

The room was pleasant and the bathroom was modern. The hotel has secure parking available on the grounds. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of fresh items and was a good value. We walked from the hotel across the bridge over the river into the center of Amboise, which was very convenient to visit the incredible chateau overlooking the town. Parking in the town is very tough, even in November. Amboise is a good base to visit the chateaus along the Loire.

Incredible breakfast, just amazing with different breads cheeses, fruit anything you can think of. There was also a very helpful and informative hostess just a great spot to visit. The room was very clean and comfortable. I'd go back!

The dining room was fantastic !! The staff were great ! Safe and easy parking and good location to walk over the bridge to tour the castle and Clos Luce.

Overall, great. the only downside is that the walls were pretty thin, at least in the room that I stayed in. Had to tell the other guests to be quiet, which thankfully they did. If they had a crying baby, or were not agreeable to keeping their voices down, it would've been impossible to get sleep

We stayed for one night. The hotel was very good , particularly the air conditioning as it was very hot outside. The room was small but had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly .
Secure parking was also welcome as the car was full.

Very nice historical building with well maintained rooms and beautiful grounds. Free secure parking and good proximity for walking to the town centre and chateau. The breakfast was a little pricey for what is offered.
