Nothing went well to be honest. We got to the airport at 9am and they were just informing us that the check in time was 3pm. We had to stay stranded at the airport. It was terrible. At the apartment, the staff checked us in casually. We couldn't cook, no AC, we had to beg them to provide a small standing fan for the room in the hot summer season.
The breakfast provided for the first morning, was good.
No breakfast available on second morning, as we ‘hadn’t requested it’. Our party included two elderly relatives. They could not reach either the string pull light switch in the bathroom, or the string pull power switch to the shower pump. They had two light bulbs in a fitting for five. What could have been an enjoyable experience in faded Victorian surroundings was marred by the noisy customers in the bar area (it was World Cup football match night), and excessive road traffic noise.
It was in a good location for visiting a student at the university.
I felt very unsafe in my bedroom (room 22). There was a Yale lock on the door with no way of locking the door from the inside. I used a chair up against the door as a security measure. I contacted the manager to ask if any room was lockable from the inside and was informed that all the locks had been adapted so that staff could gain access anytime. Not good practice in my opinion.
Very small single room but fine for the night.
The location was ok. The pub was convenient. The room was very clean and the breakfast was amazing.
Staff weren’t that helpful, friendly or accommodating. Parking onsite was tight and the pub was very noisy
Lovely old fashioned hotel with character. Staff were amazing. It had a bar/restaurant within the building. We didn't have dinner as the chef had day off but wasn't a problem as ate down the road. Breakfast was great and cooked to order. Would definitely recommend
Very old building 1756 I believe, it had a great vibe, the room was perfect
We had a lovely stay thank you
