It’s a brilliant location if your catching the Blue bridge ferry as it’s with in walking distance.
The only issue was we had no bath towels, but apart from that it’s perfect, we will definitely stay again. Comfortable beds and linen was lovely. Highly recommended this for a stay …..
Nothing.
Very quirky place, love the history of the building. Clean but a bit shabby chic in some areas.
Quite a lot of street noise from delivery drivers in the early hours.
This is a wonderful hotel full of older charm lacking in cookie-cutter hotel chains. Everything room is a little different but all equally lovely. With just 13 rooms it is has a quiet and intimate feeling. There is a delightful coffee shop attached that has space for lounging. As you would expect from a small hotel, the staff is extra friendly and helpful.
Two blocks in from the waterfront, near the cable car and beehive, it is well situated in the CBD for wandering.
Large bedroom and bathroom.
Wanted somewhere close to the ferry terminal but this was not easily walkable because of road layout. Whole experience felt a bit odd rather than quirky. Must be a very small number of rooms as reception unmanned from 5pm, so when we arrived at 5.30pm our room key was sitting in an envelope on the reception desk. Never saw any other guests but seemed to be a lot of noise throughout the night from upstairs floorboards and loud pipes. Masonic symbolism dotted about the hotel. Decor dated and room seemed clean but smelt a bit musty.
What a beautiful hotel - the main parts of the hotel feel like you stepped back into 1925 when the hotel was built but the rooms have been nicely updated. We were shown the rooms where the Free Masons meet. Located near downtown, the waterfront and the ferry terminal. Perfect!
Good location. Room clean.
Dark and gloomy generally and in the room - small overlooked window. No reception after 4 or 5 pm. When there's an evening function they leave the front door open - but as there's no reception staff anyone can walk in so didn't feel very safe. A very old lift - and a notice to say off the lift breaks down to call the engineers yourself. Overall didn't feel that welcoming.
Second time I've stayed here. I've stayed at a lot of hotels in Wellington, and this one is quiet and warm. I often struggle to sleep in hotels - so this has now become my go-to. So convenient to the waterfront for dinner or to go walking/running.
Close to sky stadium
No parking however staff are very helpful in directing where we can park which is not very far from the hotel
Location!
Kinda of an old musty feel, which the posted pictures convey. One high dormer-like window, but in side street of business district so there was little light and no view to begin with.
Staff were very accommodating and location was wonderful for us to go to Ed Sheeran concert
It was a little to expensive so only stayed one night
Friendly staff, beautiful building, very clean and great location
