Not getting my money's worth, in my opinion. I hope my stay next year will be a better experience than this year's.
Pros:

I stay here every year due to my family reunion location just 10 miles west of this hotel. They always have cinnamon rolls at heir breakfast bar. Nope, not this year. Disappointed, mostly because for some reason, Holiday Inn Express thinks of themselves as being an upgrade over other similar hotel chains. Comfort Suites for one, in every city we visit, we find that HIExpress is always so much higher in their rates. They feel like they are just BETTER. Not so true, in my opinion.

Uncomfortable stay, poor breakfast
Pros:

Have stayed in the past, but unfortunately this trip will be our last. Our room had a musty, wet dog smell. The bed was bumpy and uncomfortable. Breakfast items were lukewarm. The bread for toast was stale and hard. None of the famous cinnamon rolls. Employees seemed unhappy.

Property was nice or would have been nice but the staff was God awful

Cons:

The staff. We booked two rooms. They gave our room to someone else and still charged us for the two. Refused to give a refund. The lady was laughing at me when I asked where we were going to stay and when I asked her name she said “Jesus”

A quick stop in Winona
Pros:

Breakfast was good, location was great.
It was clean and open. TV was very nice.

Cons:

The office chair in the room was unsafe to sit in (if you leaned back, you would fall), the toilet needed cleaning.

I was not satisfied with the bed mattress. The bed was too hard. Please consider upgrading to better and more comfortable mattresses.

Pros:

The last time I stayed was 2021 and the hotel was top tier. I am not sure what has happened since then but not the same. I would book again, if, I had to. Bring your own pillows, if you a "pillow person" .

Cons:

The bed was hard as a rock. There were signs of wear, like rust spots, in the bath. The breakfast was mediocre; the only option for pancake syrup was sugar free, which not everyone likes, the eggs were dry, etc...

I really enjoy myself and just stay there again

The elevator was not working I got stuck on it the very first night I'm very claustrophobic and it was sad we had to kick it in order to open it every time we got on it and it never got fixed the whole weekend that was the only bad part the rest I enjoyed
