A lot of the outlets in our room did not work. The phone did not work. The room was very clean and the staff members were friendly
Cleanliness was great
Dryer didn’t work but I was able use the iron to dry my shirt. Bathroom sink had a slow drain
Very clean and quiet
Location to historic downtown was nice with easy highway access. Bed was comfortable, good pillows.
Dirty, Dirty, Dirty. Everything was sticky. The carpet in the room was atrocious. The shower floor was stained a dirty brown. Chipped paint and scuff marks over everything! All of the cables and mounting wires for the TV’s were hanging down behind the TVs just asking for a kid to yank on them. There was a red plastic iced tea lid ring on the floor near the bed when we walked in and some short curly hairs in the bed itself. The breakfast was meh. Sausage patties drier than the desert, overcooked eggs, green bananas, frozen muffins. The staff seemed annoyed to be asked any questions and we waited in the lobby for over 15 minutes for an extra pillow.
This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had in a long time.
After traveling all day, we arrived in the evening looking forward to getting settled in and taking a shower. When we got to the room, there were only two towels and two washcloths provided. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty, and there were stains on the shower floor. It looked so unclean that I laid down a hand towel to stand on. Unfortunately, my concerns were confirmed when I found a dirty washcloth left in the tub from a previous guest, along with food still in the refrigerator.
The room floor was dirty enough that we kept our shoes on the entire time. At first glance, the beds appeared fine, but in the morning light the sheets looked questionable, with what appeared to be crumbs and dried food particles on them.
Since we were only staying two nights and could not get a refund for the second night, we decided to make the best of it and stay. However, after being gone all day, we returned to find that the room had not been serviced and no fresh towels had been left. I had to go to the front desk to request more towels. I was given some towels and washcloths and told additional ones would be brought to the room once they were dry, but that never happened.
The breakfast was also very disappointing and well below what I would expect.
I chose this hotel based on its positive reviews, which is why this experience was so surprising. I’m really not a picky traveler, and I generally overlook minor issues, but the lack of cleanliness and basic housekeeping made this stay extremely disappointing.
Nothing
Everything
We were driving back to Dallas and were looking for a place to stay that was half way there. We decided to go to Laurel because of the HGTV show, and there were not many choices near the downtown. We usually like Holiday Inn Express, so we chose this location.
There was a lot of noise as they were renovating rooms near us. The room was OK, and we had the only room with a balcony (overlooking the wild wings).
Breakfast was OK, but we found there was really not much to see or do in Laurel, so we decided to leave a day early. We told the hotel we were leaving and they informed us we had to pay the night since it was already about 3pm. We were OK with that an got on our way.
We did not notice that we had left our Blissy silk pillowcases on the pillows. The hotel called us and asked us if we had taken their pillows. We said we had not, but that we had left our pillowcases on their pillows, and asked if they could send them to us. They told us they would, and they would charge our card for the delivery. We never did receive the package, and we kind of forgot about it, but would not really recommend this hotel, unless you really have to be in Lauel.
There was one staff personnel that either seem to be having a bad day, or she didn’t want to be bothered by me… she literally ignored me for a whole 7 minutes
Clean and great staff

Staff were very welcoming and extremely friendly.
Liked everything.
Good hotel. We had a pleasant night.
Getting to the location at night can be challenging. It's very difficult if you are headed southbound on I-59 to get to the location without going through a neighborhood. Once I got oriented, it was easier to figure out how to navigate.
