Arendal Herregaard Spa & Resort

We did our wedding just a few 100m away from this hotell so we desided to book the hotell for our Night. Ohh boy and what a Night it would be. We got there at 2 am on a really hot summer Night. The rooms have No ventilation. It had 2 small Windows that could bearly be opened. So it was extremly hot. Also the bathroom had a really bad smell of suage that spread to the whole room. When i told the reception the day after i did get an apologie (bearly) but No comp. Not Even a question if i would want to use the pools for Free that afternoon...
Me personally, i would just refund the room after destroying anyone wedding Night. Will never go back.

At check-in we met an elderly man who praised the hotel and asked if we would have lunch, because the food was great. In the car park shortly afterwards we met the same man who once again recommended the food. We were stunned when he drove off alone without luggage in a nice car. A quick Google search explained the matter, he was on the owner's side and that there was a lot of negative history and trouble with the state and financial sanctions. When we later had dinner and breakfast, we were really disappointed. The guests pay for financial penalties and led to boring and dry-fried salmon and potatoes for dinner and Fridaybread on Monday, and a very reduced selection. Far below what one would expect from even a standard hotel. We saw drinking glasses by the pool when we arrived that had not been cleared when we left. The room had poor ventilation. The air was damp and towels did not dry. We had to sleep with the bathroom fan on full blast all night. Bad vibe. Very nice and helpful staff, we really hope they are treated well.

Nice and cozy hotel. The staff is very helpful and customer orientated. There was a lady Yustina who worked on the reception, she provided a help and supported a lot.

It was a great treatment. Appreciate the service.

Definitely will come back and will recommend to my family and friends.

Breakfast fantastic, nice surroundings.
However, much of the staff doesn't seem to care or take responsibility.
A couple of people did a good job, but others seemed just to "play smart", without caring about guests and service.
Tables left uncleaned, surroundings (cabins, glamping tents) not really maintained, looked a bit "scrabby".

Spent a couple of days there with my son and friends. Everything was really awesome! Staff was great, room was really nice, breakfast was really good and the food (we had the 5 course meals) was just awesome! Nice weather too. And the surroundings was also nice! Everything was pretty much perfect!

The hotel is in an idyllic location very near the south coast of Tromoy island, with a pebbly beach and cafe within easy walking distance and a petrol station/shop and also supermarket within a mile or two.
It is on Google Maps which is how we navigated our rented car there - our car sat nav did not know how to reach it!
Despite arriving late in the evening the staff managed to rustle up an excellent late-night snack for us both.
The breakfasts are superb and the indoor pool excellent - used it every morning.
Sadly the elevator broke down when we arrived (and took several days to fix) so we had to take our heavy suitcases to our top floor room.

Vi valgte dette hotellet da vi ønsket en rolig og fredelig helg på et spa. Men da vi kom frem var det festival på hotellet. Dette hadde været avgjørende for valget vårt hadde vi vist dette på forhånd. Det var bråk så lenge konsertene pågikk frem til 23-00 å ryddebråk etter dette på lørdagen.. dette medførte at vi holdt oss vekke fra hotellet hele lørdagen å frem til midnatt.. Dette var rett og slett forferdelig.
Men det må sies at det var et fint hotell, men at det var veldig synd hotelldriften ble byttet ut med festival den helgen.
Så dette var en bortkasta opplevelse.

The hotel has a great and friendly staff, the facilities are nice, especially the spa, and the 5-course dinner was delicious. Excellent value and thoroughly recommended for a couple of days in the region.

Vi bodde i hyttene som var veldig flotte og koselige. To soverom og stue og kjøkken nede. Deilig med god plass for en familie på 4. Vi prøvde ikke maten, men alt i alt veldig fornøyd med stedet og aldri feil å få et glass bobler gratis ved innskjekk og brus til barna :)

Veldig fint opphold på Herregården. Vi koste oss maks.

Very cosy tent with all you need. Comfy beds, lots of lights, heating if needed and a bottle of cava included. Toilets and shower to use 24/7 in the hotel. Extremelys warm and helpful personell!! Take time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and their fresh bakery. Nice spa and breakfast. Highly recommended!

Honestly I don’t know where to begin. We rented one of the cabins for the family for a week in early July; we had high hopes. First impression was the dirty silverware and dishes that were in the drawers and cabinets. The first morning we were supposed to receive fresh bread delivered to the door but that never came. We ended getting some after calling the front desk a couple times. Then they did come and deliver the bread bags but the service was spotty and inconsistent. We bought tickets in advance to a stand up comedy show at the hotel, only to find out that the stand up show was FREE for everyone. Huh?! About the forth day, suddenly the water stopped working without warning. Good thing I wasn’t taking a shower or needing the bathroom. I called the front desk and they confirmed a water leak in one of the other cabins. A little heads up would have been nice. Some mysterious maintenance was also happening where one day we came back and the toilet seat had been changed. So weird! Part of my wife’s birthday present was a spa and a massage with her best friend and our daughters, all booked way in advance. So they show up at the spa only to find out that the spa treatments were cancelled because the masseuse broke her arm. Nobody bothered to call and let us know, no concessions, no apology. My wife felt as if they didn’t even know about the booking. Birthday present down the drain. If it were possible to give minus stars, I would. What a disappointment.

Veldig bra. Fint hotell,veldig hyggelig personale.

Fikk ikke romtypen vi hadde bestilt. Middagen (fem retter) var ok, men ørsmå porsjoner (den ene forretten bestod av et kamskjell og fem blader ruccola). Ved frokosten fikk en av oss mat ca. 1o minutter før den andre, selv om vi hadde bestilt det samme.

Koselig langhelg på Tromøya. Nydelig å gå tur på rullesteinstranden nedenfor hyttene! Gangavstand til Hove-leiren med lekeapparater og treningsapparater, som er gøy for både store og små.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Beautifully situated, this hotel is a short walk to a stunning beach and a nature path to walk around the island. The stately dining room serves daily dinner and breakfast, which we enjoyed a lot. We also enjoyed the spa/pool facilities a lot. A romantic getaway for anyone looking for some relaxation and beauty!
