I was double charged for my room due to a “mixup’ in their system and the staff was unwilling or unable to reverse the unauthorized pending charges and I was told I would have to dispute it either way my bank or wait several business days for the hold to be released

We like and trust La Quinta but prices are way up due to data center taking up rooms there.
Pros:

Good location and staff were great. Price was very high for what we are used to at La Quinta but this was due to the data center driving up hotel prices in Abilene!

Pros:

Honestly, I normally feel safe booking La Quinta inns because of their consistent cleanliness and all around service. The person at the front desk was friendly but the good time stopped there. The hotel needs a remodel first off. Do not be fooled by good pictures! It’s best up! The room felt like we walked into a chilly mouth the humidity was unbearable. The bed was horrible. It felt like a 40 year old mattress at my grandmother’s house! There was HAIR in the tub and the sink. The toilet ran all night. There were scuff marks on everything the walls furniture trim. The tv was hanging out of the wall off of the mount and sitting atop what had to be a garage sale dresser. La Quinta, you need to step it up with this one. The overall location was good but I will not be staying there again. And it makes me question every other La Quinta. For the price, ahem , over 200$ a night I expect better.

Not much to see, we checked in and went to our room that was not clean at all. Used wipes in the bathroom floor even. Switched our room and almost the exact same situation. Did not stay for our trip and were told we would receive a refund and never did.

Worst experience ever. Do not go there. Management sucks
Pros:

Worst experience ever. I was checked in to a dirty room and then checked into someone else’s room. Then the night of arrival someone else was checked into my room and opened my door at 0145 in the morning. Their fitness center has 2 pieces of equipment. One that is in-op (treadmill) missing its dashboard. And the room is dirty and foul. The rooms were old and work down. The yogurt at their breakfast was frozen. The elevator broke about midway through our stay. My colleague’s bathroom was dirty when she checked in and her room was left open all day when they ‘cleaned’ it. Another colleague fixed her own toilet the night before we left and now they are unable to process tax free forms that were submitted 2 days prior to our check out. I’ve been told we will get the updated receipt to you within a couple hours of checkout. It is day 2 still no updated receipt and apparently the manager is ‘unreachable’. Also, I get fixing things but clean up as you fix them. The stairs which obviously used quite a bit with elevators being out were filthy with not only construction debris but just in general. Carpeting and whole place smelled horrible. The only reason they got a 2 is because the front desk was extremely apologetic and trying to fix things.

The experience was horrible. As we were walking to our room with our children were followed into the elevator by a crazy drugged and drunk woman who was running from the police and had just robbed and ransacked the accounting office after robbing the nearby Walmart. She attempted to follow us into our room before I stopped her. The hotel staff had seen her go into the elevator behind us and ran upstairs and questioned her about what she was up to. She ran away and the guy told us how sorry he was and that it scared him for us since we had kids and all that. The told me the police would probably be talking to us. Mind you, this was already after our late night arrival. The cops arrived. They left to chase her and told me they would need to speak to me when they came back. The staff member at the front desk apologized again and told me they would be comping us the room for sure. Finally at 3 am the police came and got a statement from me. Again the guy said we’d have a comped room and it would be all taken care of for us in the morning. We tried to get sleep we but had to be up early and after the eventful night it was almost a sleepless night.
In the morning the desk person was not willing to comp the room and told us she would discuss it later with management. Nothing came of it and we still were charged fully for a sleepless night due to their poor security and drug zombies.
I travel for a living and this was the kind of place you are hoping it won’t be.

Awful and disappointed at the actions of the manager

The Manager Andrew Brown charged me for 2 rooms for one night on my credit card unauthorized. Of $ 253.17 per room Im paying thru Klarn... I booked thru Bookin.com. I have contacted the hotel for over 5 days to get this cleared up. The manager stated he would fix it but it's been well over a week and my money has not been put back on my card. I have file a complaint with LaQuinta about the lie after lie the manager said he would fix. They even hung up on a Agent from Bookin.com but the staff hung up on them. Now the hotel will not return my calls or answer when I call. I was in management for 38 years and I never been so disappointed at the lies I was told. I see my bank account everyday and my money has not been return to my account. They have my credit card information and was told for 3 days Andrew Brown would fix thete on site. We'll it hasn't happened. If this turns legal it will cost this company more than the $500 stolen off my card . I had to conduct business while I was sick in the hospital and all I got was a run around...lies.and now the hotel will not return my calls. Iv reported all this to Customer Services twice and explained all this but I still have no idea when my money will be returned. I have witnesses who heard the conversation but still this guy is your manager who has no idea about keeping customers happy. I have my bank statement with the charges the date they took it off my card. The manager told me lies after lie while im sick it was a mistake and he would fix it. He has all my information but he or this company is running me around. . This will get ugly if I have to take legal action. Im on a fixed income of Social Security...I have NO ROOM TO LOSS $500. . Felony action over $500. So I hope someone who has any kind of pull can investigate and get this taken care of ASAP.

For this to be a relatively new property, everything seemed dirty and dusty, including the dirty hallway floors and fingerprints in the elevator. The phone in the room was unusable do to the amount of dust and grime, the room clock was layered with dust, there was hair in the shower, hair and urine on the toilet seat, and the room wasn't vacuumed. I went to the front desk and spoke to Andrew who apologized for the issues. I requested a refund and he claimed he made note of the issue and his manager, Jennifer, would follow up with me the following morning when she arrived at 8am. Four days later, and five attempts to reach the front desk that were ultimately disconnected, and absolutely NO response from management, I was charged the full amount of $245, and
a $50 charge!! This place is horrible!

To remind yall I left that morning around 10am and checked out with front desk ! She said she’s going to call the police I told her go ahead because I’m in a whole different city !!! why would I extend my room in Abilene when I left to come to El Paso !!!!!! I told her to check the room her self and to talk to her morning staff because I checked out . The lady called me stupid and told me go f*** myself

Disappointing and gross

The front desk staff was very nice and courteous.

Cons:

The room smelled like musty cologne. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. Someone’s trash was left in the chair. There was no side table on one side of the bed so the lamp was just put on top of the back of the chair. I had to retrieve linens for the pullout. None were in the room. One outlet had no cover at all. The cane lights were loose and falling out. The paint on the walls was scuffed up like it hadn’t been touched up in years. The floor in front of and inside the elevator stayed sticky and dirty the entire stay. No one had mopped it in a good while. The price was no where near what should’ve been expected. I travel a lot and know what a clean comfortable hotel looks like. This was not it. I was very disappointed. The outside was great. The lobby was clean and up to date. Our room was the very opposite.

We arrived on a fine Thursday evening, we had just eaten dinner and our bellies were full. All we wanted to do was take a shower and get in our cozy beds, BUT our sheets were HORRIBLY HAIRY and DIRTY. We went to the front desk about it and all they did was wipe them off and give us a new comforter. We wake up the next morning after all that chaos the night before and go to eat breakfast and it’s SLIM. We leave for the day go have fun and we come back to shower and theirs ZERO hot water. The next morning we woke up and were very hungry so we went down to the lobby to get food, turns out the workers didn’t want to show up to work and make breakfast so we were very inconvenienced by that. Overall 10/10 WOULD NOT recommend.

Was charged 50.00 for my 7lb puppy and when we got to our room it wasn’t cleaned!! The cleaning staff did not clean the sheets nor the bathroom!! There was hair and dirt on our sheets and in the bath tub!!
