Palazzo Velabro, a Member of Design Hotels

We stayed at Palazzo Velabro, a Design Hotel member an d I would not recommend it.

We had 3 rooms, two paying cash and myself on points. We booked rooms with "courtyard views".

Their rooms were on the 4th floor, mine was the handicap room on the bottom floor with an alley outside my window where cases of return bottles were stacked. I did not get breakfast and when I inquired as to why I was told they weren't a member of Bonvoy, they were a Design Hotel.

Why did they take my points then? Why did those who paid get Bonvoy Points?

The hotel was nice but the policies and attitudes expressed by management weren't.

We stayed 3 nights and after speaking several times to layers of management I was grudgingly moved to a 2nd floor non-handicap room.

Location isn't great, I wouldn't stay there again, cash or points.

Oh, let me add that on our last night we were awakened at 0200 by a fire alarm and told to evacuate. We all stood outside, it was cold, for 20 minutes, no explanation or
" I'm sorry" given

Наш отдых прошел замечательно. Месторасположение отеля позволяет гулять пешком ко многим достопримечательностям. Ресторан при отеле очень вкусный и уютный. Так же в отеле есть маленький кинотеатр на 6 человек, и за небольшую плату вы можете посмотреть фильм с поп-корном и напитком.
Как и в любом отеле, тут тоже возникают небольшие проблемы, но персонал сразу замечает их, максимально быстро и эффективно решает.

The design was amazing

Loved the property, everything was above expectations! The location is prime and makes Palazzo Velabro such a hidden gem. The Rooms are spacious and the service and staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and help to bring the Roma experience all together. Plenty of amenities as well and the Apicio 16 restaurant is phenomenal. Special shoutout to our check-in concierge member, Domiziana and her team really helped my family settle in fast and got oriented to go enjoy Rome.

Perfect location. It was nice to have a fine restaurant in hotel.

Hotel was in a wonderful location with great restaurants and bars in walking distance. Just across a bridge from even more amazing dining options. Walk to colosseum and forum. The hotel room was immaculately decorated and very good pillows and mattress. Coffee in the room. Delightful treat upon arrival. Water available. Good vibes.

Lage, Personal, Ausstattung - alles war top. Wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt und würden das Hotel bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt in Rom wieder buchen.

Location walking distance to all the big attractions

Beautiful room very spacious and well appointed. Restaurant was very good and the staff was attentive. Well situated to Travastere neighborhood.

Location, and the views from the upper floors were wonderful. Room 505 or 405 of even 305 are likely amazing as well as the rooms ending in 06, which are the larger suites. The library in the lobby was curated by a genius of hip taste. The terrazzo was the only quiet place in Rome to have a drink and the aperetivo spread was impressive. Hidden Gem!!

We stayed one night here and enjoyed it. We were upgraded to a suite. The location is perfect for the Roman Forum and Colosseum. They have a nice rooftop bar too.

This hotel is distinguished by its location near the Roman Forum, Circus Maximus and Coliseum. You are also nearly on top of the Arco di Gianno and the Chisea San Giorgio. The service is also excellent and the front desk helped us book numerous private tours. We opted for a larger suite which had a living area and kitchenette. The restaurant serves a light breakfast with eggs to order. We also ate there one evening and enjoyed our dinner greatly. I had a traditional oxtail ragu over pappardelle.

Great location. Staff was exceptional!
Close to walking distance to many attractions. Highly recommend.

We stayed at an apartment. It was huge and very comfy. Everything is new and clean. The location is amazing. Close to everywhere; especially right next to Trastevere. The evenings at Trastevere are very lively. Very nice rooftop bars nearby too. The staff is very kind and helpful. The breakfast is very delicious. Everything was good quality. We loved the place.
