I would like to start off by saying we have stayed at this location several times with pleasant experiences. It has been a convenient place for nearby Hospital stays and Dr visits, it has always been a peaceful location with an overall safe vibe, nice staff.
However not so much our last visit first week of April, 2026. My wife needed two tests at Carillion on separate days so it was scheduled on a Friday then Monday to save traveling 4 and half hours each way multiple times. I called a month ahead of time and received great help from a gentleman working that day and reserved a room with a medical needs discount. So lets make a long story short, we arrive right at check in time on Friday after my wife's first medical test to be told rooms are not ready yet please wait, about 20 minutes pass and other customers check in with no problem. We are now told they do not have the 2 Queen room ( which they inform price will be higher than originally told) because it seems they have been overbooked, they want to give 2 king rooms for my wife, myself and our 10 yr old daughter. Well that's just crazy, what are we supposed to put our daughter in a room by herself ?, we ask to talk to manager, he is gone and will not be back till Monday. The door would not work right in one room so that was a waste. There was an odd moment when a staff worker was smoking right at the exit from elevator almost like she was blocking us from getting to parking area. Monday comes and I want to talk to manager ( Mr. Neil Ordway) and now gentleman at desk says " I was not aware manager was going to be off today. This is the same guy that checked us in Friday, I would also like to add that Friday because of the trouble with rooms he said he was going to drop our rate as a courtesy, however when i got our receipt that did not happen. I have since tried calling and emailing Mr. Ordway with no response whatsoever. I have also contacted Marriott-Bonvoy and emailed a detailed write up of our issues, so far the response was someone will contact me with some sort of resolve but we will add 5,000 points to your account. That probably will not get you a bottle water !
Sorry if this is too long. By the way Mr. Ordway had been helpful to us in our past visits, but not this time.
Stayed here for one night during a road trip, and while it had a couple of positives, the overall experience fell short—especially for the price.
On the plus side, the room was clean and the location was convenient, right off I-81, which made it easy to get back on the road. Breakfast was available and decent enough, though nothing memorable.
Unfortunately, several issues made the stay frustrating. The biggest problem was that there was no hot water in the morning, and this affected the entire hotel. When we contacted the front desk, we were told nothing could be done until maintenance arrived at 9 a.m.—far too late for travelers planning an early departure. Additionally, there was a lot of noise from doors slamming in the hallways throughout the night.
A more concerning issue was the adjoining room door: the bolt lock didn’t work, meaning the neighboring room technically had access to ours. The staff addressed it by placing a doorstop, but that’s not an acceptable long-term fix and didn’t feel particularly secure.
Overall, given the number of issues and the high price point, I wouldn’t stay here again. There are better options nearby that likely offer a more reliable and comfortable experience.
Size of room, amenities offered, super quiet and private
Shower heads sucks with water squirting out everywhere, paying for parking is entirely unnecessary
Main area was spacious and nicely decorated. Close to highway. Staff was attentive and friendly.
Pillows were not that good but bed was comfortable.
My father was taken to Carillion Medical Center, which happens to be 2 hours away from my parents house. Instead of traveling back and forth each day we spent two nights at this hotel. the staff were nice and helpful. the room was clean, and the included breakfast was nice. The breakfast staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Having a place to stay while my father is ill and my mom needed to be near him was truly worth every dollar and more.
Breakfast was great!
I had no idea i would have to pay to park my car in the parking lot. I read it was free parking. There was no parking garage. I paid to park in an uncovered lot. I have not heard of this before.
I did not like paying to park my car. No garage just a plain parking lot!!!
Very comfortable bedding. The front desk young man was extremely friendly and helpful. Location was perfect!
One thing that I noticed that was something that I didn't like. When cleaning staff worked in the mornings and afternoon, the hallway reeked of marijuana, very strong consistently during the cleaning. Elevators also smelled the same.
The hotel was convenient to our driving route and the are was cute.
Our Mountain View room overlooked an empty lot. It seemed like some amenities were missing from the bathroom (hair dryer, hand soap for the sink) we only stayed 1 night so these were not a big deal.
Location was perfect, no street noise and super comfortable beds.
Nothing
