Breakfast was okay, hotel was quiet. The lift being broken was a real downside. I did appreciate having ready access to coffee.
Very healthy. Well stocked.
Rymligt rum, bra läge centralt
Great stay and easy to walk around town
Terrific
We have stayed at this location during the Imperial City Days celebration. We love the connivence of being close to the shops and activities. Plus we are far enough from the Marktplatz that we are not disturbed by all the noise or blocked due to events. They have a typical breakfast with meats, cheese, breads and cake. It is cozy and I will return to the same location when I’m in the area.
The hotel is extremely beautiful with a nice view to the valley and right in the center of the old town. The hotel team is very kind. Rooms are comfortable, beautiful and make you feel you're in a movie. Breakfast is very delicous too with fresh food. I stayed there with my wife for out 15th anniversary and they even decorated the room romatically - depite me requesting it last minute. I really appreciated that.
This hotel was the highlight of my 15 day Europe trip! The staff were amazing. The location was excellent!
Very obliging staff made us feel very welcome
This property was a dream!!!! You step out of the front door and into a medieval town. The parlor rooms were beautiful to sit in at night and talk about all your favorite sites of the day. The staff were great! We met Helga and she was a doll!!! The property is walking distance to all the sights. I highly recommend and would definitely revisit!
I had a room in the guest house - very outdated, insufficient isolation. Generally, nit a comfortable room.
Our valley view room was terrific.
The good thing was property very close to the centre of the city, the bad thing was the condition of the property , they give us across the street other building from the main hotel it was very old need really major renovations.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We are a family of 4 and had a little section of the hotel, with 2 rooms and a corridor. We weren't expecting so much space. The view out of our room was over looking through valley and along the town walls. There was a large games room, where we played pool and air hockey. The breakfast was included and delicious! The staff were really helpful and lent us phone chargers, as we had lost our luggage at the airport. The hotel was right in the centre of town and parking was easy. Really loved our stay here.
We had a wonderful two-night stay at Hotel Goldener Hirsch. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and well appointed, and we all found the beds comfortable. We loved the common areas on the first and second floors-nice places to sit and read while waiting for other members of our party. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel offered a nice selection of foods in what I would call traditional German style. Lastly, the location of the hotel makes it easy to walk to the center of town, the kriminalsmuseum and other key areas. Overall, this was a great place to stay and we would definitely return if coming to Rothenberg in the future.
We stayed here one night and it was very nice. We had a room to the village street which wa noisy during the day. The house was old but with renovated bathroom the breakfast was excellent an reception staff friendly. Easy big parking with camera monitoring
I would advise anyone considering to stay here to reconsider. It was not a pleasant experience.
My family and I booked reservations in April online for two rooms for two nights in July. Fortunately we spotted that most rooms are NOT air conditioned so if you choose to book a room after reading this keep that in mind when booking in the summer months.
While this hotel has a central location I wouldn’t say that’s a selling feature because Rothenburg is small enough any hotel you stay at is centrally located. It is also old and that is a selling feature but again any hotel you stay at is going to be old in Rothenburg.
Driving up to the hotel for check- in there was no door person to greet you and assist you with unloading your vehicle so you can quickly move your car out of the busy narrow street where pedestrians are weaving all around you. At all times of the day there is one person that moves around to assist guests. And after 21:00 there are no employees on sight. Unfortunately a tour bus arrived before us so the wait was long. We learned at check-in they did NOT have a working elevator. I have a physical handicap and walking up two flights of stairs is difficult and I can not carry my luggage up two flights of stairs so this was a problem. They did not offer to have someone bring them up in leu of a working elevator so I asked and they said they would bring them up. After waiting 2 hours for them to be brought up the same lady doing everything else tried to help but she was no match for our luggage. I tried carrying some and fell on the stairs and hurt my knee.
The elevator has been broken for 2 months and given the sign they have it’s not getting fixed anytime soon. (See photo) The room was a bit unclean with a stain on the couch and a broken chair. (See photos). I told them they should change their website to reflect the elevator is broken they said they did. That is not true (see photo of website.) Their next excuse was that it was in their email confirmation and again that was not true I showed them the email. I asked why they don’t have a designated employee on to carry luggage for guests while elevator is broken for such a long duration and the poor woman helplessly shrugged her shoulders. I thought we should get 10-20% off our nearly €800,00 bill and they would not do it. They offered to reimburse us €22 for our parking bill.
I would like to note the employees working both at check-in and check-out were very nice and wanted to help it was the female manager working in back and the owner they called that were unsympathetic to my disability and the precarious situation we had. In a hospitality industry they failed in our opinion.
Perfect location inside the old city walls, next to the famous picture you see everywhere online. Staff were friendly, rooms were nice. Within walking distance of everything. They offered parking, but we'd already parked in a public lot, but it seemed convenient. Breakfast was good. Our shower wasn't the best. Had to hold the shower head, as there wasn't anywhere to hang it high enough to use it hands free. But it got the job done. Wish we'd stayed another night it was so pleasant.
Quaint and comfortable accommodations in the historic center of town. Our room was very large and more than adequate for three adults and a teen. Nice breakfast with an incredible view. Reasonable 15 minute walk to the train station.
It was a safe a clean room. Check in was smooth and friendly
