Location
Had to wait 40 minutes to check in as no one was in reception, after ringing and ringing landline and mobile someone eventually turned up, no apologies he just said he had been sleeping, was taken to the room which should have been a Deluxe Twin, turned out to be a double, when I said this wasn’t right I was told it was and my booking confirmation was incorrect, even taking me back to reception to prove me wrong, and when his computer said the same as my confirmation he just shrugged his shoulders, told him the room would not be suitable and kept on telling him we eventually got another room. Broken shower hose and wall bracket, shower tray drain was blocked so could only shower for 2 minutes before the water overflow onto the bathroom floor. No light in bedroom.Breakfast was average and served very slowly, asked for toast which had only been shown the toaster, eventually turned up, then had to ask for butter and jam which took another 4 minutes which you would have thought would turn up together.
The gentleman booking us in was friendly and efficient.
The room was a clean and comfortable, but the decor was a bit dated.
Our stay was comfortable and staff were friendly.
Great value for money
Host was very pleasant. Room was large. Good base.
Room needs a revamp, road noise very noisy. This is more a 2* than 4.

Location
Upon arrival at the indian restaurant which is also the reception for the guest house bedrooms we were met by His Majesty's Immigration Officers who were in the process of detaining the workers in the restaurant for illegal working and by proxy the worker in charge of the hotel. The Immigration officer explained the situation to us that all of the employees were working illegally and informed us the Hotel owner was not on site but '4 hours' away. We explained why we were there and that we had a pre-planned booking with the owner. The Immigration officers discussed it with themselves and due to the distance we had travelled allowed one of the 'detained workers' to 'under escort' from the Immigration officer let us into the room we had booked. The whole situation was farcical but more so frightening and intimidating. As the restaurant was now closed due to this issue, the breakfasts we had paid for as part of the package were not available. The whole experience was bad and would never stay there again and also put us off using Booking.com again. The thought of sleeping in the hotel and not knowing whether someone was going to knock on our door and ask us to leave as the hotel part would also be shut down was terrible.... NEVER AGAIN!!!
We had a lovely one night stay as we were meeting exactly what we needed for our family to stay over to be near by . Good space and clean and comfy
Was a hot night so maybe a fan be helpful . The lock was hard to uses for the door for the room but great otherwise
NOTHING TO COMMENT ON
ON ARRIVAL TO HOTEL 9.30 PM WE KNOCKED ON A DOOR TO FIND IT WAS A ROOM AND TOLD TO GO TO THE RESTUARANT NEXTDOOR, THERE WAS A NUMBER TO RING AS THE RESTUARANT WAS CLOSED. A GUY ANSWERED THE DOOR AND SAID HE HAD A ROOM UPSTAIRS AND ONE ACROSS THE ROAD IN A BUNGALOW?? THIS IS NOT ON THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY TO MY KNOWLEDGE, TURNS OUT THE WALLS WERE PAPER THIN AND YOU COULD HERE EVERYTHING IN THE ADJOINING ROOMS
Lovely place and loved the extra touches , the free breakfast was tasty too

I booked this for a colleague to stay while she was away with work and she was so grossed out and uncomfortable she left after the first night and we booked her to stay somewhere else! She mentioned bed bugs! General grossness of the room. We booked to stay in an Inn but she said she was led to the back of a restaurant/takeaway?? She couldn't stay there another night. I will be requesting a refund
The room was quite small but very clean and well equipped. Well maintained with a good selection of tea, coffee etc. Right opposite a nice pub/restaurant and the Indian restaurant.
Nothing.
