The shower in room 2 was full of black mould. The shower hose was covered in so much black mould that I had to wash it off to use the shower. The curtain did not close properly so we had to sleep with it open with light from the street and a very early dawn. So no sleep at all.
We moved to room 10 for the next 4 nights. Basin had a plug that was stuck as there was no plug chain to pull it up - took 2 days for that to be resolved. Room was not serviced. Towels were left in shower, as per instructions on the notice, to be replaced were not replaced and had to be re-used all wet and dirty.
Twin room - room 11 - we requested a second key as each person needed their own access . This was not available so the person already asleep had to be woken up for second person to get into the room

Overnight Stay in Rothwell with a decent restaurant nearby
Pros:

This was OK for an overnight stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee facilities were available in the room, The room was secure and the shower was decent but in a very small space. The location was good for a couple of nearby restaurants. I thought that the price I paid was fair. I was able to park in the small car park next to the hotel.

Cons:

I chose this hotel because others in the region seemed to be rather expensive. My single room was small, the shower and the loo were in a very small space. Because of the size of the room, I would not stay here for more than one night,

this is a basic cheap older property, but with everything necessary for a short stay and friendly staff

Cons:

bedroom very hot from heatwave, a large fan was supplied to at least circulate the air. parking limited on site, but huge free parking just down the street

It was OK, but we wouldn't come back.
Pros:

Staff was really kind and helpful.

Cons:

Maintenance of hotel, cleanliness of the main corridor and our bathroom, super narrow space between beds and yable with kettle (wouldn't recommend to guest with child), dirty window, questionable content of a shampoo bottle.

Overall very happy, does need improvements in places, would definitely stay again.
Pros:

Easy to find, room was clean with all facilities needed.

Cons:

Unable to open blind for window as broken, temperature of room too hot (not their fault due to weather) but a fan was in room.

Basic, hot & disappointing. Would not stay again

En-suite was very narrow. Window only opened small amount so room very hot & stifling. Stairwells & rooms appeared grubby and outdated.

Keep going and find a travel lodge !!!!
Pros:

Bedroom clean. Clea sheets.

Cons:

Bedroom 3rd floor, difficult after major op !
Bar unused for some time ! No white wine. One bottle of red looked opened for some time ! Of all beer taps , only one working. Tasted like pipes hadn't been cleaned for some time !! No evening entertainment as advertised. No one around to help with bags in morning , No food on site , not even crisps , despite frontage claiming hotel and restaurant !!! Not a good experience !!
