Location
There is no out of hours reception and creates strange situations
Stunning location overlooking the lake. Room was large, clean and comfy (if a little tired). Staff were exceptional, especially Holly in the restaurant who deserves 5*. Food was good- served hot and very tasty. The 2 night stay was extremely good, very quiet and relaxing and the service was outstanding.
The car park can do with a bit of work, some of the pot holes are quite deep.

Super friendly staff, lovely comfortable peaceful bedroom, spent the evening sitting in view of the lake catching up with family. The constant changing picture of the lake from the reflection of the sky was mesmerising. Returned morning of day after checkout for the delicious breakfast. Holly took excellent care of me. Will be returning and recommending to all.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Unacceptable Service
This is the first time I have ever felt strongly enough to leave a negative review on Booking.com,but unfortunately my experience at the Lakeside Manor was extremely poor.
I had booked the hotel midweek while attending an agricultural show with a work colleague. By the time we arrived at the hotel it was approximately **midnight**. The night porter initially came out and served us a drink, but then disappeared, leaving the area completely unattended.
When we subsequently tried to check in, there was no night porter, no member of staff available and nobody to provide us with a key card or access to our room. Despite ringing and trying to get assistance, we received no response. We were left with no option but to remain in the hotel lobby until the following morning, despite having a confirmed booking.
What made the experience even more disappointing was how the matter was handled afterwards. When I raised it with a manager the following morning, I felt the situation was not taken seriously and was almost treated as a joke.
I then left my phone number and specifically asked for the General Manager to contact me to discuss what had happened. Had I received that call and felt the matter was being taken seriously, I would not have left this review.
I deliberately waited **five days** before posting anything publicly to give the hotel an opportunity to contact me and address the situation. Unfortunately, **I received no call and no response whatsoever**.
For a paying guest to be left sitting in a hotel lobby overnight because there is nobody available to check them in is unacceptable. To then receive no meaningful follow-up after raising the matter makes it even more disappointing.

No atmosphere in bar at night went up to room at 18.30 back down to bar at 20.30 myself and partner 1 other couple and two farmers in bar no buzz
