It was a fabulous stay inside the wall of a historic town.
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent and far exceeded our expectations. The location was great, right in the heart of the City. Parking was provided very nearby with easy access. The staff was exceptionally friendly.

Cons:

There is no elevator, but we knew this prior to making our reservation. However the windy staircase is a bit hard to maneuver with luggage. But that's only a very minor inconvenience, and is to be expected in a building of this age.

We are an airline family from Texas, and the Hotel Sonne is a first-class destination.
Pros:

The location is EXCEPTIONAL! You can buy stuff at the Christmas market and walk it back to your room in minutes! The hotel staff is extremely friendly and polite, and they go above and beyond to make you comfortable. They treated us with a personal touch and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They serve a freshly made, complimentary breakfast that is fantastic! This was our second visit to Rothenburg and first overnight stay (we stayed two nights), and we can't wait to go back for a longer stay.

Cons:

There was nothing that we "didn't like". There are stairs and no elevator, but the online listing made that clear.

Mit viel Liebe angerichtetes Frühstücksbuffet sowie gedeckter Tisch, es fehlte an nichts! Das sehr geräumige Zimmer (Nr. 9) hat eine ruhige Lage. Das Personal ist außergewöhnlich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Zum Beachten: Als historisches Gebäude darf kein Lift eingebaut werden. Wir kommen wieder!

Pros:

Das Hotel wird von den Betreibern sehr persönlich und nett geführt. Eine kleine Beeinträchtigung im Zimmer wurde sofort behoben. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und vielseitig. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.
