Best of the best! Our stay at Brunton Boatyard was truly exceptional. It was an intergenerational holiday with grandparents and teenagers, yet we all enjoyed it throughly! The decor was gorgeous, charming, warm and design thoughtful. The rooms were spectacular and the food outstanding. Don’t miss the extensive breakfast, and the complimentary high-tea and the evening boat rides! All of these made our stay truly memorable. All the staff were very friendly and responsive to every need. A special word of thanks to Jasmine who always went above and beyond. Thank you Brunton Boatyard, we will be back!
A delightful hotel, very reminiscent of Colonial British times in India. A great location right on the water, just out of the perhaps busier streets of Fort Kochi. Easy to walk to many things, and a very short drive to all other attractions. Thank you to all the amazing staff who are always smiling, helpful and ready to offer any kind of assistance. Great options to dine in: Special thanks to Asiz, Shahin, Chrsitina and Mandeep at the Armoury Restobar who made our dining with them a pleasure.
Awesome property! So much of history, architecture, finesse and grandeur in every corner of this outstanding property.
The staff, amicably led by the pleasant and unassuming GM Ashwathy, are all impeccable in their courtesy, service and, attention to detail.
The morning and evening entertainment/activities are a must-do. Apart from the tuk-tuk city tours, try the Water Metro from Fort Kochi to nearby stations and you will appreciate the splendour of this property even more!
Centrally located, getting to Jew Town or Princess Street and other attractions are a breeze. Bicycling, walking or a tuk-tuk ride gets you everywhere within minutes.
Tip: while returning to hotel, avoid saying 'Brunton Boatyard', the fares are automatically inflated! I said 'Ferry Terminal' (right beside hotel) and that worked better!
Amazing experience! We stayed recently with our two young daughters and had a great time. Hotel is beautiful, lovely swimming pool, afternoon tea and sunset boat ride. What really set it apart was the amazing staff. They went above and beyond to look after us. Massive thank you to Maria, Jasmine and the lovely manager from Salem Tamil Nadu. Highly recommend!
Fabulous ! The rooms, the kitchen, the complimentary boat ride, yoga sessions, swimming pool floating over the backwaters & behaviour of the staff all excellent. Located just by the side of the chinese fishing nets( beware! The locals are not so friendly). The sunset from the deck was an out of the world experience. Thanks to all the staff🙏🙏🙏
Brunton Boatyard was an exceptional hotel to stay. Our huge room looked out on to the sea and backwater and was serviced impeccably. We ate at the hotel on many occasions because it was always reliably excellent. The History restaurant reflected the various occupations of Kerala over the last 400 years - everything delicious. The Armoury restaurant was more relaxed in atmosphere and perfect for breakfast and lunch which we enjoyed immensely. The whole team at the hotel were professional, helpful, friendly and efficient. We look forward to our hopeful return one day and we will certainty recommend it to our friends.
Excellent staff, Jasmine was gracious and extremely helpful, we would not stay anywhere else, recommend the suite facing the water
Brunton provided us a tuk tuk driver Sajad who was gracious on our tour and providing rides around Fort Cochin
From the room to the food and service everything was wonderful. We didn't hav to worry about anything and had an amazing time.
Our stay at CGH Brunton Boatyard was truly relaxing. The hotel beautifully blends heritage charm with modern comforts, creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The hospitality was outstanding — the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible.
The location is ideal, offering serene harbor views, and the spacious rooms are styled with elegant heritage decor. The breakfast was excellent, and special mention must be made of the staff at the Armoury restaurant for their courtesy and efficiency. Their warm service added a wonderful touch to our mornings.
Overall, a memorable and serene experience — highly recommended!
Brunton Boatyard evokes a bygone era with incredible hospitality. The rooms are immaculately clean and spacious - and the location is perfect to explore Kochi. Everything we tried at breakfast and dinners were wonderful - and we were a group including a slightly picky teenager - make sure you try many wonderful items at History. Yes, you do hear the ferry - but that's when you're outside. The windows in the rooms work to insulate from sound. The ferry does mean that everyone knows where the hotel is when you want to take a TukTuk back to the hotel. The hotel also has an afternoon tea, an afternoon cruise (weather permitting) etc. which you only find out about once you are there.
The one pain point is reserving the room and getting responses from CHG Earth's central team. They are SLOW - 4-7 days to respond and never completely - this was even to set up room payment. I tried to set up cars to meet us at the airport and then take us from this hotel to another CGH hotel - and crickets. I ended up finding contact information for Brunton Boatyard - and our airport pickups were set up. And then the Brunton team organized the next car too because CGH Earth did not.
Excellent property...Excellent service.
If you are going to delve in the serenity of backwaters and want to be near the activity areas too then this is the place. Absolutely wonderful....right on the backwaters. The view from the room makes the stay even more wonderful.
You won’t regret it. Amazing experience ! Starting with location, Front Desk, restaurants , rooms, the staff (always there to help and just awesome), the spa . All in all 110% experiences!
Perfect Heritage Escape in Fort Kochi
Brunton Boatyard is a beautiful blend of colonial charm and modern comfort. The harbor views, spacious heritage-style rooms, and warm, attentive staff made our stay unforgettable. Dining was exceptional, especially the seafood grill and local Kerala dishes. We loved the complimentary sunset cruise and the eco-friendly touches throughout the property. Truly a serene and memorable stay. Highly recommended!
Beautiful hotel with excellent staff and facilities. The restaurants serve delicious local dishes as well as international cuisine. The only downside is the area outside the hotel property, particularly near the ferry bay. It is beyond the control of the hotel but it is sad to see how the local government has ignored a naturally beautiful location to stray dogs, foul smelling garbage, poor drainage and abandoned public utility works etc.
One of my top ten hotels anywhere. World-class service and comfort with gracious staff. I will be back!
Absolutely superb hotel from all points of view. Unbeatable location, proximity to Ferry & the famous Water Metro. The suites as well as the normal room are excellent - the suite is pure indulgence. Service is fantastic with very helpful and attentive staff. Great breakfast and the staff at breakfast place ARMOURY deserve special mention for courtesy and efficiency. Great for small children. The sunset cruise is not to be missed. Many points of interest are walkable and TukTuks freely available if not inclined to walk. All round great experience esp in the monsoon
One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at! The room offered a stunning sea view, and the service was warm and attentive throughout our stay. The à la carte breakfast was delicious, with a wide range of fresh options. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like the welcome drinks and coconut hair flowers — a true example of excellent hospitality.
Everything was excellent! The hospitality was outstanding. We were taken care of even before we arrived until the airport. This was beyond our expectation. And of course, the food was good, the rooms really beautiful (bed was very comfortable). The hotel reminded us of the “Raffles hotel” in Singapore. Also, the fact that it is environmentally friendly. Will definitely stay there when am next in Cochin. And if this is the standard of cgearth, I’d want to try all their other hotels too. Thank you very much. I had an excellent time with my sisters.
We recently enjoyed a delightful staycation at the Burnton Boatyard in Fort Kochi, a property that exudes colonial charm and understated luxury. Check-in was seamless, and we were soon welcomed into our exquisitely appointed room. The majestic poster bed and meticulously maintained period furniture added a touch of historic grandeur, creating an ambience that felt like stepping back in time.
Evenings at Burnton Boatyard are particularly memorable. We were treated to an English-style high tea, followed by a complimentary 45-minute boat ride along the harbour. This tranquil cruise offered a close-up view of Kochi’s vibrant maritime life and set the tone for a relaxed, immersive experience.
Dinner at The History Fine Dining was a highlight. The expansive dining hall—with its old-world elegance and subtle grandeur—was the perfect setting. The attentive staff went above and beyond in explaining the intricacies of the menu, making the meal both informative and indulgent.
Breakfast the next morning at The Armoury Café was refreshingly different from the usual buffet setups. A charming trolley laden with a variety of breads was wheeled to our table, and we appreciated the made-to-order service. The selection ranged from local delicacies to international favorites, all served promptly. Special mention to the chefs for the lovely, flaky pastries—easily a standout.
Do note: the outdoor areas can attract mosquitoes, so some repellent might be handy. Also, the occasional sounds from nearby ro-ro ferries are part of the working harbour's character.
All in all, Burnton Boatyard is a splendid blend of heritage charm, thoughtful hospitality, and culinary finesse—well worth a visit.
Overall a comfortable and cozy stay. We'll maintained property with best location. Tuk-Tuk rider Sanesh was always very nice and polite. Special thanks to Jasmine for making us feel at home. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety. And best staff and best hotel in Kochi. Thank you.
