Two Staff save the day
Pros:

After checking in to the hotel on Monday 13th July, there were two staff that stood out for us. That was the receptionist who was on duty until 11pm who not only checked us in but also served us with drinks from the bar. When we arrived we did enquire about having something to eat as owing to traffic queues and congestion we were too late to have an evening meal the restaurant had closed. Then owing to us having a long journey etc Gabby (Gabrielle) went out of her way to make a ploughman’s platter. We think these two staff deserve praise from their employers for making our stay comfortable

Cons:

The thing that stood out for us was that the shower did not work. It was an over the bath shower attached to the taps, we tried everything possible to turn it on but nothing happened therefore landed up just having a wash.

Pros:

A very warm welcome, staff very helpful. Lovely and clean.

Cons:

Very old fashioned kind of place and service. But I actually quite liked it, was kind of nostalgic. Would have liked filter rather than instant coffee.
Not so keen on the work to the patio starting before 07:00 outside. But it was during the heatwave, so can't really blame the guys for wanting to start early.

Pros:

In a great area. Close to waterfalls, walks etc..
Nice charmful hotel. Bit dated but has character.
Good size room with a huge bathroom and bath.

Cons:

Booked a Saturday night when a wedding party was in full swing. Room was above the dance floor with no other rooms available. Loud music until 11pm.
Would of been nice to of had a warning of this when booking!

Pleasant but could be improved at little cost. Little details could make a difference.
Pros:

Lovely surroundings, characterful building. Dinner delicious and good value but drinks expensive.

Cons:

Staff could be more professional with customers.
Bath and sink deterioration, unsightly, hot water tap ok but cold had little pressure.
Large crack in wall with the windows.

Nice single night stop over
Pros:

This hotel is in a wonderful setting, the rooms are very spacious, the staff are excellent, helpful and polite, the rooms are really clean and the bed super comfortable.

Cons:

My wife felt it was a bit outdated but I think it was quite charming - it is an older country house after all. My only complaint would be the carpets have seen better days in terms of both wear and marks.

Horrible
Pros:

The front of the hotel is beautiful.
Staff were lovely & helpful.

Cons:

After the beautiful hotel front we thought it was going to be the same inside, what a disappointment, a musty smell in reception, we opened our twin room door acceptable, I went to have a shower with no shower head, none of the hotel rooms phones work, I asked to change rooms, they found a family room, on walking into that room we were shocked at the decoration, it was crossed with a great grandmother’s bedroom or an old out of date care home, unsafe kettle stood on a table with the cable to short to plug in, the shower was hot or cold never warm, would we return NO
Could be a lovely hotel needs some money send on the inside to modernise the interior.
