Excellent service, 5* all the way
Had a fabulous week at Joia Salome and can’t recommend highly enough. The hotel is a relaxing vibe with the most attentive staff. From outstanding sunbed service to the best food and drinks in literally every restaurant. The El Mirador restaurant for breakfast has stunning views over the sea and serves everything from Eggs Royale to the best Full English we have had abroad. The highlight for the evening restaurants was Poseiden ….stunning gourmet dishes that were so goid we ate there twice.
The staff really do make this hotel, they’re friendly and accommodating and will cater to your every need. A huge thank you to Janeth, Paula, Rebeca, Joselin, Raquel to name but a few….they made our holiday and we can’t speak highly enough of the fantastic service.
Will definitely return.
This is the most perfect place
Second visit and will not be the last
Staff,ambiance,food,comfort
It’s absolutely faultless
We didn’t leave once,we just didn’t want to.
Outstanding customer service in exceptional surroundings, the staff simply cannot do enough for you. They go the extra mile regularly to look after you and make your stay memorable.
Simply the best holiday experience we have had. This is a little gem of a hotel. It had everything from excellent food and wine to a very attentive staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they throw in many extras and treats. Lovely room ands wonderful pool area. Would we return? Absolutely
We’ve just returned from a week’s stay at the hotel and I can honestly say it’s the best hotel we’ve stayed at. The staff are wonderful, all of the butlers are on hand throughout the day and they will always go above and beyond for you. Special thanks to Joselin, Raquel and Amanda from the bar at the pool who were all so friendly and helpful. All of the restaurants offer food of the highest quality which we thoroughly enjoyed and breakfast was delicious with the most amazing view. Both my husband and I had massages and they were the best we’d ever experienced. All of the hotel is incredibly well maintained and so clean, the pool area is particularly lovely and you will never struggle for a sunbed! My husband and I are already looking at when we can return next year. So much of a holiday is about the people and the service you’re given and the team at the Salomé are definitely the best.
Last visit was 9 years ago and it is still as good as it was. This was our 6th visit over a number of years and it is just such a relaxing adults only hotel
No getting up at 6am for sunbeds as there are plenty all with umbrellas and plenty of towels when you need them. Breakfast is a la carte overlooking the sea and exclusive for salome guests. All the staff are excellent with service around the pool at the ring of a buzzer. Cava, snacks, afternoon tea and items of food they bring around are all included even on bed and breakfast. (Tattinger champagne also at certain times) We stay bed and breakfast because there are plenty of good restaurants you can walk to along with many more a 10 minute taxi ride away. Being the adults only part of the Anthelia hotel means you can also enjoy the entertainment there if you want to with the acts ranging from good to very good. There is a reason this hotel scores so high on trip advisor with many guests coming year after year. We highly recommend it and I'm sure will be back next year.
Gorgeous hotel. Lovely staff, very attentive. Great food and facilities. Spotlessly clean. Pool guys are always around. Bar/waitress staff very good. Butler service to the rooms. Great location. It’s a separate boutique adults only hotel within the Anathelia complex (family hotel, which is lovely too) you have access to all of the facilities on site. We have been twice now and will definitely be back!
We have just spent 11 nights at this amazing hotel. From start to finish we cannot fault the service we have received. All the staff were fantastic. This was our first stay at the hotel and we will be back.
This hotel is heaven on earth. The staff are amazing. The location is perfect. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are amazing. The beds are so comfortable. It is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed. Do not hesitate booking here. You will NOT regret it!!
This hotel
Is an absolute beauty. A five star luxury resort where nothing is too much of a problem. The staff are incredibly friendly and cannot do enough for you. Vicky, juanita, Aldair, fran and Mossi are just incredible. Thank you for an amazing stay. My only complaint is that it was over too soon.
If you are considering this hotel (and you really should) you will probably have read many reviews, the majority of which are five star. So, rather than repeat what you have probably already read, here is some tips & tricks…
We arrived at around 7.30pm and were greeted by Raquel who swiftly got us to our room and even managed to get a table at Poseidon - what a star. Later that evening Raquel really earned her star status; I left a bag on the taxi transfer and she managed to find it and get it returned to me within 24Hrs – that is true stardom!
Download the Iberostar app before you arrive and familiarize yourself with it and then login with your room number etc. once you’ve checked in. This will give you access to all the restaurant menus and wine lists, and all the facilities of the hotel. It will even inform you when your room has been cleaned. You can also check in online with the hotel before arrival – this will save you the admin on arrival. This is where Fran really stood out; he managed to help us get reservations in the restaurants we wanted. This took out any hassle and meant all we had to do was show up!
The one thing that didn’t work in the app was the butler contact function; I used this several times and never had a response (frustrating) (why not set up a simple WhatsApp group as many other hotels do?). If you need a butler for any reason you either had to hope they were at the desks at reception or catch one around the hotel – which, in fairness, was fairly easy as they are often around the hotel and pool.
I make no apologies for the attached photos. You can find any number of hotel shots, but not so many of the menu items. Most of what we had was delicious, sometimes it was less so, this was down to our taste and not the food.
The restaurant menus have changed from last year, this is both good and bad – the upside is that if you have been before the menus give you new delights but if you had some standout meals last time they may not be available this time. However, I recommend that if there is something you really want, ask; you never know what they may be able to produce. We did, and were delighted every time. We ate most often in Poseidon, this is where you’ll find Mossi – what a guy; nothing is too much trouble, and he will genuinely go out of his way to make sure you have a memorable meal every time. Look out for the delicious amuse-bouche and be prepared to be tempted to over eat!
We really enjoyed the menu at Sea Soul restaurant. We wanted to try several of the starters and they were more than happy to accommodate us. We asked for small portions and mixed it up a bit – a kind of tapas approach. This worked really well.
If you have lunch in Legarto Restaurant, you may want to ask about the portion size when ordering – they are huge! You can always share or ask for a half portion. Legarto becomes the social bar in the evening and if you are fortunate, you will be looked after by Juanita. She takes pride in the attention to the cocktails she creates; they were delicious, particularly the Negroni. Experiment – you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
We first met Jessica last year and she continues to be everywhere (not at the same time!). She is the consummate professional, she has a sixth sense when it comes to customer service; able to anticipate your needs and is always ready to help. Jessica should be promoted but then that would deprive us of her charm and experience, get to know her and you will be well looked after.
Last year we had a less-than-ideal meal at the Portofino Restaurant, this is a shame as it put us off eating here again this year. This was probably a mistake. We did venture out for lunch here one day and it was delicious. Next year we will definitely try to book dinner here.
The buffet (Zeus) is large and themed each evening, you can’t fail to find some delicious plates, check with the butlers for the day’s theme. We tried it once last year, and thought we’d better try again this year. We found it too noisy and too frantic – we booked Salome as it was a quiet, adults only hotel so the buffet with loads of children just didn’t work for us.
We found that the steaks across the various restaurants tended to be cooked slightly under what was asked for so, if you like medium rare, I’d suggest you go for medium etc.
Try a Barraquito - if you like coffee with a little alcohol, I recommend this (it’s my new go-to). It was delicious.
Vicki in the bar and around the pool during the day was a lifesaver; water would arrive unexpectedly as would delightful drinks and nibbles. We like a coffee in the morning, Vicki spotted this and we got two flat whites at 10:30 every morning – now, that is attention to detail.
“We don’t do repeat visits” we’ve said it so many times. We’ve even looked at alternatives but, the rooms, the staff (all of them), the food, we just can’t find anywhere within 4 hours that compares. I guess we’ll just have to come back again next year.
We have just returned from an 11 night stay at this wonderful hotel. This is our 3rd visit and definitely won’t be our last.
We stayed all inclusive and the food and drink offering is superb with excellent choice and quality. The Lobster Paella at lunch in Portofino definitely should not be missed.
The hotel is spotless and spacious and feels so relaxing.
All the staff are amazing and they recognise us from our previous visits both to Salome and the 14 visits to the Anthelia, it always feels like our second home.
I would like to say a special thank you to Mossi who looked after us so well in the lunchtime buffet and on an evening in Poseidon.
We will definitely be back soon. Thank you all for a great holiday.
Wow! Where to start, facilities are amazing (flip flops, all hair products, straighteners and hair dryers in the room) Both pools are lovely and a beautiful temperature and the sun loungers are so comfy, with a fresh towel rolled up on the bed every single day. Views are beautiful, the hotel offers free coffee and bubbles complimentary all day.
Can’t even begin on the staff - they are so considerate and are thinking the extra mile. An example of this is unfortunately I had a flare up with my skin and Vicky very kindly offered me a frozen towel and spoke to the team so it wasn’t fragranced and bought them to me throughout the day- it was so helpful and it wasn’t something I even asked for!
Drinks bought to your bed, room changed 3 times a day - just fantastic!
Janeth , Vicky, Raquel and Franco deserve a special mention. They work tirelessly and always with a smile on their face. Beautiful service and so accommodating. They are striving for something special here
A true gem, wrapped in the beautiful ocean view line - do not miss out!
Our stay at the JOIA Salome was nothing short of phenomenal!
We enjoyed every single second of our stay!
This hotel has a „hotel within a hotel concept“, which is absolutely brilliant! You can enjoy all the benefits of the bigger Iberostar hotel, while always being able to retreat back to the absolute peace, elegance, and serenity of the private JOIA Salome area. It truly offers best of both words!
We would like to highlight and thank especially the butler team (Yurena, Rachel, Joseline, Aldair and Fran) for their amazing work. You have been always present without being instructive.
In addition, Mossi, he always made sure I am getting some food with my allergy. He is a true hero and a very lovely and kind man!
This hotel is amazingly located, everything is clean till the end and you always feel the little extra, the team is giving.
This hotel has completely redefined all our standard, and we will definitely be back! A highly recommended hidden gem, I would like to gatekeep!
We really enjoyed it our hotel staff where excellent we would definitely recommend and come again
Wonderful hotel, service, food, rooms. Couldn’t fault it
The location, the views, the spacious and beautifully decorated rooms, and the warm, personalized service make this hotel highly recommendable. Yurena and her team are exceptionally attentive and helpful. The staff throughout the hotel are efficient, friendly, and genuinely welcoming.
Breakfast, served in a beautiful dining room overlooking the sea, is excellent. The other restaurants in the hotel also offer very good food, complemented by attentive service.
The only disappointment was Poseidon, the hotel’s gourmet restaurant. The service felt clumsy and below expectations: wine was spilled while being poured, dishes were served without any explanation, and everything was placed on the table rather carelessly. The food quality also failed to meet the standards one would expect from a fine-dining establishment. For example, instead of being able to choose from a cheese trolley, we were simply served ten rather bland pieces of cheese on a plate, without any description or explanation.
To make matters worse, a rat ran across the terrace during dinner. While these things can happen, the overall experience at Poseidon unfortunately cost the hotel a point in my rating.
My wife and I have just returned home from an amazing week at this truly wonderful oasis of a hotel. The facilities, the rooms and the pool, the peace and quiet to fully recharge batteries, the food in the amazing choice of restaurants, (particularly Sea Soul and especially Poseidon where fine dining meets exemplary attention to detail) all add up to a very special experience.
But as others have said, none of that would mean anything without a team of truly outstanding people. Special mention of Vicky who provided a level of service very rarely seen, with the friendliness and informality delivered with perfection. And of course, Aldair, who provided our 'butler' service. Butler seems so formal, but it wasn't like that at all - personal service delivered with genuine concern to make every single aspect of out stray unforgettable - something that was achieved at every level.
We will be returning later this year, and I hope for many years to come.
Exceptional hotel and staff..
This is our 3rd year coming to the Salome and we will definitely be back next year, if not before!!
