Great rest great food
Pros:

The staff is super helpful. The hotel has a charming atmosphere. The food was great but watch out the meals are huge and we weren’t able to eat a starter and the whole main. Hartfully recommend!

Not all Deluxe rooms are born equal!!
Pros:

The staff, the food, the location.

Cons:

We paid extra to book a deluxe double room as opposed to a standard double room. However the photos and description of a deluxe room on booking.com, did not correctly reflect the size and style of the room we were given. It was much smaller, with very little furniture, the bathroom was tiny and the view was a flat felt roof (see attached photos). Having expressed our disappointment, We were offered an alternative room with the same disappointing size and appearance as our original room, and were told builders would be arriving at 8am the following morning to work on the balcony of this room, which was out of use. So we felt it wasn't a realistic alternative, and we would have to stay where we were. While the staff and food were great, I feel it is important to let people know that the room you think you are booking, may not be the one that you get.

Lovely building and grounds, great food and great service. Highly recommended.
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice and good quality. Excellent customer service at breakfast and all other times during our stay. Peaceful location and pleasant building and grounds.

Cons:

If anything could be changed, I would have liked the hotel bar to stay open a little later. We were commuting to Edinburgh for the Fringe every day and it would have been nice to have a quiet drink on our return before going to bed.

Pros:

The location of the hotel is wonderful. The breakfast was fabulous with very generous portions. We had diner in the restaurant and it was excellent.

Cons:

We stayed in a small room for two, which was a bit on the small side and was quite basic. The bed mattress was a bit springy. Besides that, I would certainly stay there again.

Plutôt décevant sur l’ensemble
Pros:

L’emplacement et la taille de la chambre c’était globalement propre.

Cons:

Le personnel de service en salle était très moyen mise à part Ann vraiment adorable.
Le petit déjeuné était très moyen. Le buffet plus que sobre. Le deuxième matin nous sommes descendus pour petit déjeuner à 9h45 l’heure limite étant 11h. Il n’y avait presque plus rien dans le buffet. Un reste de jus d’orange 3 et bananes. Nous avons réellement senti que nous devions nous presser, le personnel s’agitait à dresser les tables du déjeuner !
Le lendemain le service du petit déjeuner débutait à 8h lorsque que nous sommes arrivés à 8h15 le buffet n’était qu’à moitié dressé.
La chambre très grande carte mais avec un équipement minimal. Un clic clac inconfortable tenait lieu de canapé. La salle de bain correcte mais la douche pas nette (moisissure sur les joints et tuyauterie bricolée grossièrement !
Globalement la prestation proposée n’est pas à la hauteur de celle qui est présentée.
