Pros:

Cons:

Нет кондиционера и вентиляции было очень жарко! Пришлось открывать окно, дверь в коридор и пожарную дверь на этаже, чтобы как-то можно было облегчить жару.

Great central location with secure parking BUT...
Pros:

The location was superb with good parking in a walled compound with a security barrier. The receptionist was very genial, informative and spoke English well. Our room was on the ground floor with a little terrace. Basic but adequate. The Abbaye aux Dames was just a short walk away and the Chateau just a little further. Plenty of bars and restaurants in easy walking distance.

Cons:

Plenty of problems here. On Friday before arrival, I received an email from the accommodation stating that the reception closed at 12.30 h on Saturday and was closed on Sunday. Planned arrival was Saturday mid pm so we had some anxiety about how we would get our room. All unnecessary because the reception desk was open until 17.30 h on Saturday and was open again on Sunday. The building is in a complex of student accommodation and Saturday night there was loud partying going on until at least 03.00 h on Sunday morning. We finally got some sleep about 04.00 h. Breakfast on Sunday was a disaster too. At 09.00 h, the croissants and pains au chocolat etc had all gone. The staff said they had run out and all that was left was some bread. The queue to get a hot drink was ridiculous with only one machine working. There were cold meats and cheeses and some fruit juice so we managed some kind of breakfast. The place clearly couldn't cope with the number booked in. Monday breakfast was much quieter with a range of pastries available and no long queue for a hot drink. The room was basic. The bathroom had a simple shower with a plastic shower curtain. Just one small towel provided per person. Toilet seat cracked and loose. Cobwebs in corners. Cigarette ends all over the terrace. Small kitchenette with one mug and one small coffee cup not ideal for a couple. Refrigerator was noisy, running continuously and froze up our water bottle (not so bad in the heatwave that we experienced). Fortunately, there was a door between the bedroom and the kitchenette to isolate the noise a little. On arrival, the car park barrier can only be opened with a code, so request it in advance by email or you'll have to wait at the barrier while one of you walks over to reception to get the code. Very poor value for money. You pay a high premium for the central location and secure parking.

Handy, but…
Pros:

The room was comfortable and had just about everything we needed.
Kitchenette was well appointed and useful.
The location is close to Caen centre
Parking on site (although payment process for this is opaque)

Cons:

There were endless problems with access. The instructions given did not match what had to be done to open the front door and the process was confusing and generally unsuccessful. Repeatedly we had to rely on other people to let us in; we had to let someone else in, and we learnt we were not the only ones having these problems.
The response from management was unhelpful and dismissive. We will not return, even though in many other ways the accommodation was good.
The fridge setting was too cold; it froze and ruined some of our food.

Clean and simple, but some major faults
Pros:

Room very clean. Receptionists extremely friendly and very helpful!

Cons:

- Most serious, and potentially dangerous, issue is the shower. I slipped a couple of times and nearly fell. You need a better shower curtain (or door) and/or bigger and thicker floor mats to absorb all the water which at the moment it is impossible to stop spilling out.

- With no windows to open it was very hot in the room, and I couldn’t leave the door open at night for fear of animals coming in. I saw a medium sized black and white dog roaming freely in the garden, as well as a cat - which I would not want coming into my room. in this heat, air conditioning would be ideal, but if that’s not possible, perhaps some sort of wire mesh grille so the door can be opened and animals prevented from getting in. No one wants any animals able to come in - whether dogs, cats, rats, birds or snakes.

- Animals should not be allowed to roam freely in the garden. No guest wants a dog (or cat) leaving a mess outside their door.

- The kitchenette needs to be better equipped. I had to ask for food bowls, and teaspoons. There should be at least be a cafetiere (and perhaps a teapot). It needs either a washng up bowl and/or a plug for the sink. Without these, people can’t wash up properly and will waste precious water.

-I sent a message early in the morning about things needed in the kitchen. I didn't get any reply at all, but had to ask the receptionist who sorted it immediately.

Godt hotel, mangler aircondition.
Pros:

God morgenmad, dejligt stort værelse med sofa, køkkenfaciliteter incl. køleskab. Fin beliggenhed, 10 minutters gang ind til byen.

Cons:

Ingen aircondition. Det var meget varmt, så lidt svært at sove om natten, vinduerne lod vi stå helt åbne for at få lidt luft.
