Perfect and beautiful location. David even came outside in the rain to show us how to set the car charger up. All round excellent.
Can’t think of a single thing.
Very clean, staff were amazing and was in a great location as well

Everything was excellent
Maybe the pillows could have been firmer, but that's all I can think of!
Staff were very attentive and friendly. The breakfast choices were excellent.
Nothing not to like - just I wish I had more time to enjoy the Lake District.
Great location. The room was lovely and the bed was comfortable. The decor in the dining area and the garden were both lovely. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was lovely.
The shower head needs a good scrub to get the black gunk off.
Location stunning, nice and quiet, staff were brilliant, breakfast was great, very dog friendly and the rooms/bar/ lounge was fantastic, would say it's my favourite place I've stayed in the lakes
Unsure about the £25 per night for a dog considering how much the hotel is per night
wie man es sich wünscht
Hotel is lovely. Bizzy staff e lovely but seemed stretched at times. R room was quite small but very nice. N very comfy bed. Food was good. Loved the gardens.
Very quirky hotel.
R room was roasting. N quite noisy tbh. Took a while to get to sleep
Room was good with decent view- could have done with real milk not dreaded sachets! Glad to see brek had decent jams in Bonne Maman pots!
Waiter service at brek was exceeding good, especially Callum: give the lad a rise for his friendliness and quick thinking when I needed a serviette! He made a real difference, bless him.
Surprised your papers were Daily Mail and Express- how hotel clientele has changed these days!
Banishing tabloids ( see above)
Could have done with getting into my room a tad earlier
Did not appreciate being addressed by my surname in welcome email-machines are so cold, and error- prone!
Beautiful surroundings
we felt the staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming. We ate in the conservatory in the evening, but the lady on reception was bordering on rude when we tried to change our seating from the restaurant to the bar area. The staff in the restaurant were clearly very busy, but it took over 20 mins for anyone to come to the table. No water/bread was offered and for our second drinks order we were told by one waiter that he couldn't take the order and we should wait for the bar man to come over. We went to him directly to place the order in the end - the bar man being the only staff member to really engage in any conversation with us.
We had stayed the previous night in a much more budget friendly hotel but the staff could not do enough for us. It was a marked difference to the staff at the Borrowdale, and we would definitely prefer to return to that previous location and much warmer welcome.
Really comfy bed & decor was smart & modern in our room.
Great bar area for drinks before & after dinner.
Amazing setting in Borrowdale.
Excellent breakfasts, freshly cooked to order which was a lovely change from pre-booked buffet hot food
Also plenty of fresh fruits & pastries.
Stay passed too quickly!
As always here, dinner was quality food, very enjoyable, served by very pleasant, friendly staff. choice of eating in the restaurant, conservatory which opens onto the beautiful garden, or in the bar area. dogs are allowed in the conservatory . Wonderful to see them, they are always well-behaved and lie at the side of their table. We choose conservatory for evening meal and restaurant for breakfast which again is served by the lovely staff. They offer help yourself continental with a lot of choice, then bring toast and preserves, followed by your choice of cooked breakfast. Very relaxing hotel that also offers 3 lounge areas. The location in Borrowdale valley is beautiful, and is also a good base for visiting other areas. Love the place! It is managed well by a lovely, hands-on friendly manager, Maria.
