We absolutely loved our stay at this dog-friendly hotel last weekend. The atmosphere was relaxed, happy, and welcoming for both people and dogs. I stayed with my mum, stepdad, and my dog Ronnie, and we all had an amazing time. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home.
Jordan on reception was so friendly and informative, giving great recommendations for local walks and things to see around Borrowdale and Keswick. Rita, the waitress, was brilliant; incredibly attentive and always making a fuss of the dogs with treats and cuddles. John the cleaner was also lovely and chatty, checking in to see how my stay was, and like everyone else, he was great with Ronnie.
The hotel was spotless, the food was incredible (especially the breakfast), and the views were absolutely stunning, even the rain couldn’t spoil it. We’ll 100% be back, and I definitely have the holiday blues… made even better by England winning the rugby! 🏉🐾
The room was superb Breakfast excellent.Evening meal was great
Property was great, really good location!
Too hot! We had our room window open all night and felt so warm :( also one of our windows didn’t open so made it worse.
Loved that it was perfectly accessible for mum who uses a rollator...we didn't have to worry about how she would manage around the hotel.
The breakfast was fantastic.
The staff couldn't be more helpful.
We thought the food was over priced and not as "wow" as we were hoping for.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Room very excellent. Log fires in lounges really appreciated.
Food generally very disappointing. Cooked breakfast, particularly the bacon mediocre.
Dinner overpriced for the quality provided.
Super breakfast, comfy beds, welcoming staff, great parking, relationship with spa down the road was a nice bonus.
Great location, nice bath!
Expensive for a small single bed room, but it did the job!
The staff were all ( without exception) absolutely superb, they made it such a special place
Nothing
The staff really friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. The room was first class. Most definitely will be staying here again
Everything was perfect A*
Immaculate clean, great staff, brilliant breakfast, dog friendly, beautiful location
Location, history.
Food generally over priced. Breakfast was awful. We were refunded due to the inedible nature of the food.(Breakfast only)
Breakfast good. Great lication
A lift or a lower floor
Very friendly welcoming staff, reception and dining areas, cosy lounges, very clean, good breakfast
Evening meals were superb, service in the dining room was excellent most nights. The bed was comfortable and the room mostly quiet.
Breakfast felt very rushed with cooked breakfasts brought before I had finished my cereal then taken away and kept warm this included poached eggs. Bacon was undercooked the fat was still white.
I found I was unable to use the bar lounge and the conservatory because of all the wet dogs, there were six in the lounge and three in the conservatory. My clothes ended up covered in dog hair from the chair in my room. There was no information in the room unless you downloaded an app. Consequently my towels weren't changed despite leaving them on the floor. The bathroom radiator was brown where the hand wash had dripped on it and not been cleaned off. The carpet by the bathroom door was very frayed and the room was very small.
Clean and cozy with a beautiful decor. Everything you need. Refreshments included biscuits ( love a cuppa and biscuits) Toiletries were lovely, the body lotion smells amazing. Buffet breakfast was very good and also lots of choice on the breakfast menu, we both had the full Cumberland, delicious 👌🏻
