Excellent service in a cosy and well appointed hotel. The inclusive full Cumbrian Breakfast was delicious.
The evening meal of roast beef was excellent, but for £29 the quantity of beef provided seemed rather small.
Faultless, great place and amazing staff
The staff, food and rooms are exceptional

The property was beautiful
Service was lacking not up to a four star hotel. Reception is unmanned most of the time as Staff double as reception and servers. Staff work hard but seem shot-staffed.
The bar’s & lounges were comfortable, the beer garden was great. Plenty of choices in the menu. Staff were very friendly. Nice touch with free coffee after dinner.
The meal portions were large, would prefer smaller portions & so then we may have managed starters & sweet.
Food was excellent per se.
Single room was very small though.
The Restaurant Menu offering for Dinner was excellent for our taste and choice.
The Bar Menu, although not offered whilst dining in the Conservatory, needs to have a few more choices eg, a pasta dish a salad. Some people do not like overly, herbed/spice food so need to cater a little less 'fine' dining options.
Service was excellent - Gentlemen who served us very polite, engaging, very professional.
Position.
The staff were helpful, especially within the restaurant.
No lift, though a member of staff helpfully carried our cases up to our refurbished room on the second floor. However, over the five days and four nights, the room was not vacuumed at all, and it was evident!
However, the food was dismal, and as my wife remarked, cooking is obviously a job, and not a vocation! Cooked breakfast which had evidently been drying up on a hot plate for some time, parsley sauce with fish pie which I turned upside down in its container, it defied gravity. High meal prices not reflected in meal quality at all. Undercooked root vegetables every meal. Over-cooked new potatoes every meal.
Smukt hotel og smukke omgivelser. Nemt tilgængeligt med bus fra Keswick.
Location. Views. Lovely atmosphere and ambiance . Quiet. Room felt luxurious

Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful area. Walk straight from the door. A short drive into Keswick.

The Borrowdale hotel is in a wonderful spot surrounded by outstanding scenery. It is a quality hotel offering a great dining experience, comfortable quiet rooms and caring helpful staff.
Nothing the hotel can influence, but don't rely on the bus service. The timetable is just for show!

Oh gosh… I don’t even know where to start. This is by far the BEST hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Firstly, the location. It’s literally in the middle of the Lake District surrounded by nature. The view from the rooms is unbelievably nice. My room was incredible! It was nicely, classically furnished and really well equipped. The bathroom was very modern and clean, absolutely loved it. Staff were extremely nice and courteous as well. The breakfast was really good and offered a wide range to choose from including the buffet. I will not only recommend but even promise that I will come again. 10000/5 stars!
Excellent!

The menu is possibly too adventurous?
What was served for two mains dinner dishes poorly met the description given.
Location, decor, ambience etc.
Not all but quite a few of the food items were a bit disappointing
Very good
