Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful area. Walk straight from the door. A short drive into Keswick.
Nothing
The Borrowdale hotel is in a wonderful spot surrounded by outstanding scenery. It is a quality hotel offering a great dining experience, comfortable quiet rooms and caring helpful staff.
Nothing the hotel can influence, but don't rely on the bus service. The timetable is just for show!
Everything
Nothing
Oh gosh… I don’t even know where to start. This is by far the BEST hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Firstly, the location. It’s literally in the middle of the Lake District surrounded by nature. The view from the rooms is unbelievably nice. My room was incredible! It was nicely, classically furnished and really well equipped. The bathroom was very modern and clean, absolutely loved it. Staff were extremely nice and courteous as well. The breakfast was really good and offered a wide range to choose from including the buffet. I will not only recommend but even promise that I will come again. 10000/5 stars!
Excellent!
10/10
The menu is possibly too adventurous?
What was served for two mains dinner dishes poorly met the description given.
Location, decor, ambience etc.
Not all but quite a few of the food items were a bit disappointing
Very good
A well kept hotel which has kept hold of its history whilst being quite modern. Impeccable service from all staff, again holding with traditional values of etiquette and service which has been lost in so many other hotels. The Borrowdale is in a quieter location away from the bustle of Keswick and good access at various points to the lake.
There are parts of the hotel that could f do with a touch up but I really am splitting hairs here!
Location was beautiful
No air con in the rooms, extremely uncomfortable night
Terrible food
Comfortable bedroom and lounge.
Excellent breakfast.
Great location- bus stops outside.
Relaxing stay, quiet at night.
Nothing- all positive.

The location and the hotel building/facilities.
Staff were all very helpful.
Expensive drinks at the bar.
Insufficient staff numbers to cover customer demand at times.
