Stunning location absolutely loved it . Our room was really clean and very comfortable and quiet. Amazing breakfast too .
The evening food menu i felt needed better choices .
Breakfast - excellent.
Dinner - limited choice and expensive for quality and quantity of food.
Roon - comfortable and clean. Would have liked a safe.
Dinner
lovely location, good breakfast, rooms clean and tidy, excellent Spa facilities & Gym. Great location to stay if visiting Norwich or UEA (University).
Did not like the very small plates used when self service for the breakfast. Food was great but plates were so small you could not fit your full English Breakfast without risking your eggs slipping off when walkimg back to your table. No.need for such small plates as you need room to separate your food not pile it on high. Sorry but the plate size was silly.
Breakfast, great choices.
Staff went above and beyond excellent
It was good value - for what we paid we expected something fairly basic and our room was fairly basic although clean and comfortable and best of all did have really good aircon. A decent sized room too with tea and coffee making facilities
We were told our room was ready when it wasn't but to be fair they did offer us two complimentary drinks while we waited which was good. Our food in the restaurant was OK - nothing special. Unfortunately they forgot our room service breakfast the next morning and we didn't have time to wait for it however they have offered us a free breakfast if we would like to return - touble is we live 3.5 hours away so unlikely to use this but at least it was addressed.
Location. The property itself. Staff.
Long walk to our room
Food very good
The hotel buildings, grounds and location were stunning. Slightly disappointed that there was a coach parked right outside the front door on our arrival - think I would ban that as first impressions count! Staff, on the whole, were friendly. Sitting on the terrace having drinks in the evening was lovely. Grounds and planting in beds and pots were lovely.
We queued to check in - only one person on the desk and another running around and snapping at others in the queue who were getting frustrated. My bedroom overlooked the side of the building, my sisters' (opposite) overlooked the back of a host of air conditioning units (these could have been obscured with a screen or clever planting?) and seemed to be above the laundry with trolleys being wheeled about noisily from early morning. I tried to secure her another room, queuing AGAIN for reception (after having tried to call them with, predictably, no response), but to no avail. Room decor was disappointingly dark (stain resistant I imagine) and lacked any flair or imagination. Heavy wool check curtains needed re-hanging (by me) and the windows were so filthy that on a sunny day, you could not see out of them. Black mould was also present on the window sill. Dinner in the bar took a very long time to come and was hugely disappointing - one meal served without half of the stated items and the other, a stone baked pizza, arrived as two child-sized pizzas (could have been straight off the shelves of Tesco to be honest). Having drinks on the terrace was nice, but umbrellas were mis-matched and shredded and the few seat cushions available were in a terrible condition. This feedback is given in the hopes that management maybe look to make improvements for the benefit of all their guests.
Everything- lovely place/setting. Comfortable clean room and comfortable bed. Friendly professional staff.
