Mixed feelings
Pros:

Wanted to love this hotel but thought it was just OK.

We stayed in a junior suite for 4 nights as we wanted to have a bath in our room. The room was spacious with a separate seating area. However, we were directly behind the lift shafts and could hear these moving whenever used. There was also building work going on in the adjoining building - the layout of the hotel meant we were one of the few rooms abutting this building - unfortunately we heard the work starting early every morning which was quite disturbing. It would have been nice to have been warned or offered an alternative room.

The bed itself was two single beds with separate bed covers pushed together. I didn’t like the mattress, it felt well past its best. The mirrored headboard was uncomfortable and not conducive to sitting in the bed reading.

Overall, the room was clean. However, I felt the bath had not been cleaned properly between us and the previous guests (small black hairs - ew).

We tried room service and it arrived on an old fashioned trolley that needed a good dusting. The pizzas were served in cardboard boxes. It was a bit basic.

The bar downstairs, however, offered good service and a decent happy hour. It would be nice in summer with the doors folded back.

One key positive is the location. The hotel is very central to all major sights and meant we didn’t need to use public transport at all during our stay.

The sister hotel on Flores st looked a better bet overall.
