Very charming place, great location, staff was very friendly. Room size and decor was great.
My sole complaint was that the mattress was a little uncomfortable, but that's it!
Massive bed . Massive bath . Nice view. Great staff. Nice breakfast fetched to the room. Great experience all round. Good location
Everything especially the location
The location was great and staff friendly, and the mini bar was a fun touch with a good selection.
Stayed in a basement room and it smelled damp. Also run down in areas of the room and needed painting. Disappointing in parts and felt attention to the overall impression of the room was not as good as advertised.
Location was perfect. We could reach everything we wanted to from there and it was an easy walk from the train station. The room was very quiet at night, and the staff were friendly enough.
I know - it's not reasonable to expect places in northern England to have air conditioners (yet). We were there during a heat wave, and there was zero circulation in our room. The small electric fan we had rattled and made it harder to sleep than the heat. We left a night early despite knowing there'd be no refund. Back to Edinburgh where it was reliably cooler.
Location
Rude staff, noise of staff in the mornings and smell in our room, no complimentary water.
Friendly staff
Really comfortable and spacious room.
Bed was really comfy.
Location was excellent and proximity to parking
Very hot there was a fan but it wasn’t enough and the windows did not open very wide
The price was extremely high for the lack of premium . It was nice and clean but not premium but at the right price point
Small bathroom and not much room in the bedroom to move about
Everything 😊 actually everything was fantastic
It was beautifully presented. The room was modern and well maintained. Loved staying in the old property and the location was excellent with the Museum Garden opposite and on such a historical road.
Parking was ok but it doesn’t have a car park (but I knew that when I booked). Breakfast was on a tray in the bedroom. Would have preferred to select from a small buffet - but it was still excellent quality.
Location
Room soundproofing wasn’t great as could clearly hear people in adjoining room.
Nice building and a good area
Bed was very uncomfortable, springs poking into your back, also a little tatty in places and needs some upkeep, tiles coming off the walls and radiator rusty.
