Pros:

The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Our room was tired but comfortable and the beds were good. The location was good.

Cons:

The hotel is in dire need of a refurb and a very good clean. The bathroom down near reception was dirty and smelled terrible, there were broken toilet roll holders, no one replenishing the toilet paper or collecting the rubbish. The floor looked like it hadn’t been properly mopped in a very long time.

Rude Barista
Pros:

The barista is rude to hotel guests. Looks like she does not want to be there and Augstine charges wrong rooms coffees and doesnt advise the barista and she gets into a heated arguement in front of other guests

Makes comments to kids how much are they going to eat to make them feel uncomfortable.

Impressed with Townsville but hotel tired and we wanted a good gymnasium but the one across road was

Cons:

System for ordering barista coffee in the morning was slow and unwieldy. Go to front desk to order then sign for it and get a number. I got stuck waiting behind others. Why not just ask guests first thing on arrival ‘Would you like coffee this morning?” and then add to room charge? Staff at brekky were doing a lot of personal chat rather than clearing tables too.

We were very unhappy about ridiculously loud air conditioning in our room. No way was it possible to sleep with it on as it was like a truck was parked in the bedroom. So the room was too hot a temperature for sleeping well.

Location good and comfortable stay
Pros:

Location was good for me. I booked an executive suite which was nice, roomy but a bit dated in the way it’s decorated

Bed was comfortable and room serviced daily. I also arrived early and was given a room immediately.

Cons:

I didn’t like that they do not have an evening bar on site. With all the restaurants near by I can appreciate why but as a single traveling female I prefer to stay in hotels with facilities.

Pros:

Staff very helpful and friendly- they always are every time we stay. Room was very comfy, bed was comfy- easy to come and go for our nights out. Buffet breakfast was really good.

Cons:

A little outdated with a few things in the room but that’s me not picking- otherwise a great stay.
