Giving one star as that’s the minimum I can give. Not a fan of negative reviews, but this hotel is the exception.

Checked into room 308, our king deluxe room and the bathroom is woeful. The shower has a shower curtain, a shower curtain! What deluxe room do you know that has a shower curtain? Bear in mind we paid $388 a night for this room. The shower curtain means the water sprays everywhere, so we had to use a large towel on the floor to prevent us from slipping on the wet tiles. The shower leaked, the sink was very low and seemed to be built for a child, the toilet was also small with a really rough toilet seat and there is no where to hang towels as the towel rail is above the toilet roll holder, so you end up with wet toilet room. Also it doesn’t appear to have been vacuumed as there was someone else’s hair in the bathroom.

Then the main room also hasn’t been vacuumed and there were mystery red marks on the bedding.

The breakfast at Rydges used to be legendary, but not anymore. It’s basically a ban-marie set up. The bread is stale and looks like it’s been left out over night, the hot ban-marie food is old with poached eggs that appear to have been there for a while and even though we paid $388 a night for this terrible experience that didn’t include a barista coffee, which is extra.

Basically this hotel is old and mismanaged, so avoid it.
