Just repeatedly let down
Pros:

Location was good and it was clean. Ok price I guess.

Cons:

I’m assuming he was the manager but the tall guy running the desk during the day was a bit of douche. Very arrogant and specifically spoke down to women. His name was Fabian.

Also, I had to turn the water on to my toilet because it was off when I entered (I assume from cleaning). Thankfully I knew how to do that. Also my sink drain was stuck closed (again I think from cleaning) and the lever didn’t work but I was able to pry it open.

Breakfast was mid. Those grits need to be worked on. My grandma would not like those porridge looking things.

Also not enough parking. Came back late one evening and zero spots available and had to park on the curb. I understand that the hotel was fully booked but it is a dark area and as a solo female traveler, I didn’t feel comfortable parking out on the street where there were no streetlights.

Baseball team (maybe 10 years old) was allowed to run the halls at 10:30pm on a Tuesday night. I needed sleep.

And lastly, I requested a (free) cancellation the Sunday before my Tuesday check in. My grandfather passed away the Thursday night before and they set up his funeral for Wednesday in Alabama. Per the app, I should have had a response within 24 hours but I never heard anything back. Nothing. I was not able to attend the funeral because I couldn’t afford the money on the hotel there and in Alabama unfortunately. I would have been ok with a no, we can’t do that but it’s the fact that I received zero response back at all. It just would have been nice to hear something back is all.

Pros:

The hotel was incredibly modern and clean.

Cons:

The late check in time. We got there early and was told nothing was available but we would be called when a room was ready. We were never called by Fabian and rooms did come available slightly earlier. The front desk didn't follow through as promised!

Great Classy Hotel, 10/10
Pros:

Everything. My first impression was classy. Front desk staff were professional and very friendly. The room was immaculately clean and spacious. Lots of towels. It lacked, nothing. Breakfast was great. This will be my go to accommodation whenever I go to Charleston. Location is awesome. Price very reasonable.

A very comfortable stay.
Pros:

It was easy to reach, very clean, room was spacious, the bed had a firm mattress, very comfortable. Usual Hampton standard was met. The fitness room was reasonably large.

Cons:

Can’t think of anything. Reaffirmed my belief that I can’t go wrong at a Hampton Inn.
