Very good food and customer service
Perfect location, good customer service. Everything perfect. Love it
After missing a flight, we were put up in the Gibson Hotel. Quick easy check in, the service from the bar/restaurant is second to none.
This hotels is a disgrace. Would not recommend
Room was very clean and spacious, bed was extremely comfortable and the waterfall shower was a 10/10.
Very easy to get a taxi to the city centre.
Didn’t use the restaurant so can’t comment but all in all a great hotel :)
Such a fantastic experience at Gibson! Huge compliments to João, the head chef, the steak was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The chips were also really flavorful and addictive. And Patrick, the manager, was so kind and attentive throughout the night, which made everything even better. We had a really lovely time and can’t wait to come back!
We had dinner in The Gibson Hotel tonight and Patrick was exceptional from start to finish. He was warm, knowledgeable about the menu, quick with service and had such a positive attitude. Nothing was too much trouble and he really went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. Staff like Patrick are such an asset to the hotel. Highly recommend for families with kids. Bonus is this hotel is located beside the 3arena for concerts.
We had an amazing experience at Gibson...João..he head chef, is absolutely excellent, the steak was outstanding, perfectly cooked. The chips were super tasty too. A big thanks to Patrick, the manager, who was incredibly attentive and made us feel very welcome. We had such a great time and will definitely be back!
I stayed with yous recently and had a great experience, Chloe was very accommodating and checked us in quickly which was great as I had a long flight!
Unfortunately, our experience with the reception staff, particularly the manager, was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we were barely greeted and were made feel unwelcome straight away.
We wished to pay for the room in cash, which should not have been an issue, but it turned into a huge ordeal. Our room rate was €150, yet we were then asked for a €250 deposit, something we were never informed about prior to arriving at the hotel. This lack of transparency was frustrating and unnecessary.
When I encountered a temporary issue with my card due to an incorrect PIN, the manager showed no understanding or professionalism. Instead, he made an inappropriate assumption that I had financial problems and implied that I did not have enough money to cover our stay, which was completely untrue. The issue was resolved and was simply a card error, but his attitude throughout was rude, dismissive, and embarrassing.
To make matters worse, the noise levels during the night were extremely high. There were drunk teenagers running and shouting in the corridors in the early hours of the morning, making it very difficult to sleep. This was a huge inconvenience and added significantly to an already disappointing experience.
Hospitality and basic respect were seriously lacking, and the way this situation was handled left a very negative impression. It’s a shame, as first impressions matter, and this experience fell far below what would be expected from hotel management
Good location, nicely on the canal. We found it clean and tidy. Service was good enough, rooms were nice. Showers good. Bars nice. Beds good. Plenty of space in the rooms, would def use again. Thanks
Best selling point of this hotel is the location. Our dining experience was not 4*. Waiting for ages to order drink at our table and then having to wait approx. 15mins for it to be delivered. Most of the staff had difficulty understanding what we wanted to order - we had to show them on the menu. We were asking a waiter a question, obviously he didn't realise or understand what we were saying and literally just walked away🙄 Oh and the bill was dropped down to our table when we had just ordered our 2nd drink! Don't let 1st dates fool you, the dining experience in the restaurant was definitely not up to scratch.
Yazmin was a lifesaver at the hotel-I use a mobility device and was with a group tour. The room allocated was with a shower which is dangerous for me and she took the time and effort to get me a bathtub room which had an amazing view. She is an asset to the Gibson Hotel and we came back to the hotel as the food and drinks are soooo good. The best ceasar salad, and my blackberry fizz drink was so tasty. The highlight was my husbands steak sandwich with an onion jam that was fabulous and enough for two people. Love this hotel and will come back again!
We recently stayed at the hotel as we had an early morning appointment in Dublin and the weather was promised bad for travelling up to Dublin early in the morning. We arrived to check in late circa 11:30pm and checked in. We were not allowed to check in without ID, (which we didn’t have, but eventually found a photo on our phone). The reception area was freezing, our room was worse. Cranked up the heat, and went to bar to wait for room to warm up, an hour later our room was still only at 13.5 degrees. Should have complained at the time, but was after working a 13 hour shift followed by a 4.5 hour drive to Dublin, we were wrecked and had an early start so we just suffered it and went to bed! We mentioned it the following morning on checkout and the hotel were very apologetic, and gave us complementary parking, but the entire hotel was cold, even the bar. The hotel apart from this was good, room was a bit dirty, sort of wear and tear dirt and stains on walls, floor etc. the walls were paper thin, could hear our neighbours talking clearly, and lots of noise from people coming back from the bar following a show in the 3 Arena in the hall outside our room. Location is really handy, but I’ve stayed in much better hotels in the same area, that had working heat, and didn’t need to find ID to check in.
I had a great stay at the hotel and I must admit that the reception team made total difference, I went to several places that day and NOBODY smiled and wished me happy new year, I checked in kinda late on the Gibson must be around 8PM and the lobby seemed empty, so three of the receptionist seemed to be looking at something in one of the computers and the three of them looked at me and smiled and warmly welcomed me, I swear I’d be very mad to be working at this time but those folks seemed genuinely happy that I was checking in at the Gibson hotel, I have no words to describe how that made a difference in my last night of the year. After checking us in the man said happy new year to us followed to the girls at the reception.
Thanks the Gibson for the amazing stay !
The bar was also amazing that night, even tho it was busy the guys there did a great job, my last stay of the year turned out to be just the best.
I joined the bar for the nye night and the staff was absolutely lovely. Patrick was very nice, welcomed us and brought us two amazing pornostar martini! Highly recommended when you are in Dublin!
The service was excellent, the attendant Patrick was very cordial and provided excellent treatment; nothing was lacking. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it for a date or a night out with friends.
I had a really good experience at Gibson Hotel. Patrick from the restaurant, was super nice, kind and helpful with us. Thanks all.
We stayed last night. My husband, daughter, and I stayed with you as we were attending a concert to celebrate my daughter’s 13th birthday, which was meant to be a special occasion for her.
Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay fell well below the standard we expected.
On arrival, the receptionist was not very friendly, which was a disappointing first impression. Our room itself was extremely cold. I asked a member of housekeeping for assistance and was told that the heating was not working.
We had dinner in the bar that evening, which cost €42, and the food was very poor. The meal arrived cold, the chips were undercooked, and my daughter’s chicken goujons were extremely hard. I did mention this to a staff member, but the response was simply an apology with no further action taken.
Breakfast this morning was the most disappointing part of our stay. We arrived at approximately 10:10am, and there was very little food available. There was no milk or bread available without asking, no pastries, the sausages were raw, and the scrambled eggs were watery and unappetising. I spoke to other guests in the breakfast area who were also very unhappy with the breakfast or lack off and especially food not cooked properly. At 18.50 per head its an absolute rip off
Sadly, this was the worst hotel breakfast we have ever experienced, and overall this stay was not a good one and we definitely wouldn't return. Very over priced rooms which were not kept that clean lots of marks in the wall etc.
we will not return or recommend this hotel. Only plus to this is location to 3 arena.
I was actually disappointed with this hotel. The location is good if you are on business in the IFSC area or attending a gig at the Three Arena but not great if you are visiting the city. The hotel lobby is very cold and clinical. I actually didn’t realise it was the hotel lobby at first. It was more like a hospital clinic. The rooms are actually quite basic. The beds are like hospital beds, on wheels and little storage in the room. The room was big though. The food in the restaurant / bar was very nice and we ate there more than once. Service was poor though I had to get up to get the attention of the wait staff on multiple occasions. They were also giving conflicting advice and guidance on gluten free options so more training needs to be given on that. The hotel was advertised as more luxurious than it was. I’d give it a good 3 stars, but not 4.
