Quick, easy, and friendly check in. The BEST included breakfast I have ever seen! Huge selection and even Gluten Free options. Our room was very spacious, especially for Europe. Clean room - the bathroom was in need of some maintenance (caulking, grout, rust) the way 95% of hotel bathrooms are. Great system for pool and beach towels. My only complaint was that there was no coffee maker in our room (Suite Prestige). I had seen Nespresso machines in the photos and assumed all rooms would have one, but apparently only the higher category of rooms. Fantastic location across the street from the main beach and. Short walk to many restaurants. Be sure to walk through the opening in the cliff at the far right side of the beach at low tide - you can walk long the beaches lol the way to Praia Vau. Absolutely gorgeous!! Overall a great stay, and I was very happy with our choice.

Amazing hotel very clean and spacious. Hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with any requests. Tanya at reception allowed me to check in early which was incredibly kind of her as I was early.
Hotel breakfast was plentiful and well managed and replenished so plenty for everyone!
Location is also very central, near to the beach and restaurants cafes and bars! Delightful stay! Highly recommend!

On the quieter side of the beach, a stone's throw away from the restaurants, convenience stores, coffee shops etc. Beautiful view from the partial view searoom, hearty breakfasts, professional and courteous staff, highly recommended for Portimao.

Location was nice, by the beach. too bad they don’t have beds on the beach (or I was not made aware of). Breakfast was diverse and tasty, even gluten free items.

I only have great things to say about this hotel, it was clean, the staff were amazing the location is perfect right next to the beach and the main little strip with shops and restaurants…. The buffet exceeded my expectations it was one of the most enjoyable breakfast buffets I have ever had. I highly recommend this hotel!

Hotel da Rocha Review

I stayed in Room 401 and enjoyed the fantastic views and a very comfortable bed. The room itself, however, is in need of some renovation—fixtures, fittings, and particularly the bathroom are showing their age.

The food was tasty but a little lacking in variety. The pool area is nicely kept, but because it’s surrounded by tall buildings on three sides, it loses sunlight early in the day and tends to be deserted by around 3pm.

Staff are professional and efficient, though more formal than friendly. The location is excellent, with the beach and nightlife both within easy walking distance. Parking in the area is scarce, so the hotel’s underground parking (currently €15 per day) is a real benefit.

Check-in and check-out were smooth, though as I arrived early I did have to wait around two hours for my room to be cleaned, with keys handed over at 3pm.

Overall, a well-situated hotel with great views and comfort, but some areas could be improved to make the experience feel more polished.

I expressed some concerns about my stay and they were not addressed. If you are going to AfroNation. Stay away. They will overcharge for subpar accommodations. I also had a reservation for two people and they would stop me outside and tell me I could not have guests. My friend could not even help me with my outfit. I had to come outside to have her fix my bathing suit top. I felt humiliated and paid a lot of money to be treated disrespectfully. Wish they would have addressed my concerns or offered a partial refund.

Superior room was huge, was clean with a bistro set on the terrace. Very close to the beach. Wasn't a fan of the town / area surrounding the hotel but felt safe.

It is right next to the beach and all the popular attractions. Great room with plenty of space. Surprisingly there are no outlets in the bathroom. Had to plug my toothbrush in the outlet near the bed???

Very, very oexpensive for the service provided. Paid for oceanfront room and was on the first floor with a great view of a 24hr electronic billboard that flashed all night long. Do not recommend staying at this hotel, at least not for triple the price of regular off season rates

We really enjoyed staying there. We ate the breakfast and it was good.
I don't know what is technically eco friendly except maybe they don't wash your towels every day unless you ask.
The location is excellent since it was a short walk to the beach and most of the walk was walking across the area of land to get to the beach. Tons of activities nearby that are extremely fun. And there is more beach to the town than the first glimpse from walking over that you see.

Sure not a five star hotel, but reasonable in price and worth more than the price

RR Hotel de Rocha is a perfect spot to launch from for a beach vacation. Access to the Praia de Rocha is across the street! The friendly staff made us feel welcome and were very helpful. The hotel’s parking is 20€ per day (in late July 2025) and is located under the building. An amazing breakfast buffet is included every morning. So many fresh, delicious options that you can choose different items every day for a week! Walk to tens of restaurant and shopping choices. Due to the hotel’s location, there can be music and crowd noise at night. Things seemed to quiet down around midnight during our stay (Monday-Thursday). Make a plan and go and don’t forget the sunscreen!

Amazing location at the heart of Praia da Rocha. Highly recommend to stay here. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, overall very clean. Only stayed for one night, but I am planning to return to explore more the South part of Portugal and will try to stay here again because of its location and ammenities. Breakfast was included, with many options.

We stayed here for three days with our two children and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect—close to everything we needed—and the room was spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of variety to suit all tastes. Just a small tip: try to go before 9 AM to avoid a wait for seating.

The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job keeping the room and facilities clean each day. Our only minor issue was the sofa bed—the mattress was quite thin and not very comfortable, even for our lightweight nine-year-old daughter.

Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to families looking for a convenient and welcoming place to stay.
